In many medical image devices, dc noise often prevents normal diagnosis. In wireless capsule endoscopy systems, multipath fading through indoor wireless links induces inter-symbol interference (ISI) and indoor electric devices generate impulsive noise in the received signal. Moreover, dc noise, ISI, and impulsive noise are also found in optical fiber communication that can be used in remote medical diagnosis. In this paper, a blind signal processing method based on the biased probability density functions of constant modulus error that is robust to those problems that can cause error propagation in decision feedback (DF) methods is presented. Based on this property of robustness to error propagation, a DF version of the method is proposed. In the simulation for the impulse response of optical fiber channels having slowly varying dc noise and impulsive noise, the proposed DF method yields a performance enhancement of approximately 10 dB in mean squared error over its linear counterpart.

In this paper, we propose the multi-channel interference cancellation algorithm for visible light communication (VLC) in smart building. The VLC system is communication technology using visible rays that come out in Light Emitting Diode (LED) device. It has energy curtailment effect and possible to use in ubiquitous network service applications. When a large number of users communicate indoors, the performance can be reduced due to channel interference. To remove interference, at the first, the minimum mean square error (MMSE) scheme as interference cancellation methods used, and then the successive interference cancellation (SIC) is applied to obtain additional diversity gain and improve interference cancellation performance. Indoor VLC channel model is employed. The performance is evaluated in terms of bit error rate (BER). From the simulation results, it is confirmed that the proposed scheme has better BER performance compared to the previous systems. As a result, the proposed interference cancellation improves the signal quality of VLC systems by effectively removing the channel noise. The results of the paper can be applied to VLC for smart building and general communication systems.
This letter presents an alternative analytical expression for computing the probability of an M-ary phase shift keying (MPSK) wedge-shaped region in an additive white Gaussian noise channel. The expression is represented by the cumulative distribution function of known noncentral F-distribution. Computer simulation results demonstrate the validity of our analytical expression for the exact computation of the symbol error probability of an MPSK system with phase error.
Convolutional codes which are terminated by direct truncation (DT) and zero tail termination provide unequal error protection. When DT terminated convolutional codes are used to encode short messages, they have interesting error protection properties. Such codes match the significance of the output bits of common quantizers and therefore lead to a low mean square error (MSE) when they are used to encode quantizer outputs which are transmitted via a noisy digital communication system. A code construction method that allows adapting the code to the channel is introduced, which is based on time-varying convolutional codes. We can show by simulations that DT terminated convolutional codes lead to a lower MSE than standard block codes for all channel conditions. Furthermore, we develop an MSE approximation which is based on an upper bound on the error probability per information bit. By means of this MSE approximation, we compare the convolutional codes to linear unequal error protection code construction methods from the literature for code dimensions which are relevant in analog to digital conversion systems. In numerous situations, the DT terminated convolutional codes have the lowest MSE among all codes.

This paper describes an error synchronization running on IP-USN gateway software stack for transportation safety service. This system consists of an TS_EDA, and TS_ESA. TS_EDA is an agent that detects an error for multimedia distance system based on IP-USN gateway software stack environment. TS_ESA is an agent that is an error synchronization system for multimedia distance control based on IP-USN gateway software stack environment. From the perspective of multimedia collaborative environment of IP-USN gateway software stack for transportation safety service, an error application becomes another interactive presentation error is synchronized with participants engaged in a cooperative work.

This paper proposes a 10-b SAR ADC. To increase the conversion speed and reduce the power consumption and area, redundant cycles were implemented digitally in a capacitor DAC. The capacitor DAC algorithm was straightforward switching, which included digital error correction steps. A prototype ADC was implemented in CMOS $0.18-{\mu}m$ technology. This structure consumed $140{\mu}W$ and achieved 59.4-dB SNDR at 1.25MS/s under a 1.8-V supply. The figure of merit (FOM) was 140fJ/conversion-step.

In this paper, the image modelling of road's lane markings is established using view frustum(VF) modeling. This algorithm also involve the real time processing of the 3D position coordinate and the distance data from the camera to the points on the 3D world coordinate by the camera calibration. In order to reduce their measurement error, an useful algorithm for which analyze the geometric variations clue to traveling vehicle's fluctuation using VF model is proposed. In experiments, without correction, for instance, the $0.4^{\circ}$ of pitching rotation gives the error of $0.4^{\sim}0.6m$ at the distance of 10m, but the more far distance cause exponentially the more error. We confirmed that this algorithm can be reduced less than 0.1m of error at the same condition.

Cooperative spectrum sensing (CSS) with decision fusion is considered as a key technology for tackling the challenges caused by fading/shadowing effects and noise uncertainty in spectrum sensing in cognitive radio. However, most existing solutions assume an error-free decision transmission, which is obviously not the case in realistic scenarios. This paper extends the general decision-fusion-based CSS scheme by considering the fading/shadowing effects and noise corruption in the common control channels. With this more practical model, the fusion centre first estimates the local decisions using a binary minimum error probability detector, and then combines them to get the final result. Theoretical analysis and simulation of this CSS scheme are performed over typical channels, which suggest some performance deterioration compared with the pure case that assumes an error-free decision transmission. Furthermore, the fusion strategy optimization in the proposed cooperation model is also investigated using the Bayesian criteria. The numerical results show that the total error rate of noisy CSS is higher than that of the pure case, and the optimal values of fusion parameter in the counting rule under both cases decrease as the local detection threshold increases.

Recent advances in technology have resulted in rapid growth in mobile communication. With this explosive growth, reliable transmission and error resilient technique become increasingly necessary to offer high quality multimedia service. The success of error resilient techniques at decoder sensitively depends on error detection performance. Therefore, this paper proposes a computationally very simple and efficient error detection technique using fragile watermark for real-time video communication. To balance between image quality degradation and error detection efficiency, fragile watermark is embedded only in least significant bits of selected transform coefficients. The proposed method is workable without additional bit in video bitstream and can be implemented very efficiently. This method will be useful in video communication in error prone environment such as wireless channel.

Powerful error control and increase in the number of bits per symbol should be provided for future high-quality communication systems. Each message bit may have different importance in multimedia data. Hence, UEP(unequal error protection) may be more efficient than EEP(equal error protection) in such cases. And the LDPC(low-density parity-check) code shows near Shannon limit error correcting performance. Therefore, the effect of UEP with LDPC codes is analyzed for high-quality message data in this paper. The relationship among MSE(mean square error), BER(bit error rate) and the number of bits per symbol is analyzed theoretically. Then, total message bits in a symbol are classified into two groups according to importance to prove the relationship by simulation. And the UEP performance is obtained by simulation according to the number of message bits in each group with the constraint of a fixed total code rate and codeword length. As results, the effect of UEP with the LDPC codes is analyzed by MSE according to the number of bits per symbol, the ratio of the message bits, and protection level of the classified groups.
