Performance Comparison between Neural Network and Genetic Programming Using Gas Furnace Data

  • This study describes design and development techniques of estimation models for process modeling. One case study is undertaken to design a model using standard gas furnace data. Neural networks (NN) and genetic programming (GP) are each employed to model the crucial relationships between input factors and output responses. In the case study, two models were generated by using 70% training data and evaluated by using 30% testing data for genetic programming and neural network modeling. The model performance was compared by using RMSE values, which were calculated based on the model outputs. The average RMSE for training and testing were 0.8925 (training) and 0.9951 (testing) for the NN model, and 0.707227 (training) and 0.673150 (testing) for the GP model, respectively. As concern the results, the NN model has a strong advantage in model training (using the all data for training), and the GP model appears to have an advantage in model testing (using the separated data for training and testing). The performance reproducibility of the GP model is good, so this approach appears suitable for modeling physical fabrication processes.

"환경"과 부전공 자격연수의 문제점과 개선방향 (The problems and improvement directions of certificate in-service training for "Environment" subjects)

  • The quality of environmental education in school depends on the quality of environment teacher, who develops his/her ability through avalible courses such as in-service training and communication et al. This study was performed with the questionnaire to 179 teachers who participated in certificate in-service training for [Environment] subjects on winter of '95 and summer of '96. The questionnaire included 28 items, which could be categorized 5 parts : the environmental consciousness of teachers, their awareness of environmental education in schools, the reason of participation, the limits and requirements of learning field, avalible teaching and learning methods. The improvements and suggestions derived from this study are summarized as follows: First, it is necessary to differentiate in-service training concerning environment, because the motive of teacher's participation is diverse and is not always suitable to the purpose of certificate in-service training for [Environment] subjects. Second, the teaching contents and programs of certificate in-service training for [Environment] subjects have to be various according to the characteristics and major subjects of teachers. Third, it deserves special emphasis that the field trips and survey for the experiential study in field is supplemented in the teaching contents and programs of certificate in-service training for [Environment] subjects. Also, it is necessary to strengthen the environmental ethics and philosophy in the teaching contents and programs.

Improving safety performance of construction workers through cognitive function training

  • Due to the aging workforce in the construction industry in South Korea, the accident rate has been increasing. The cognitive abilities of older workers are closely related to both safety incidents and labor productivity. Therefore, there is a need to improve cognitive abilities through personalized training based on cognitive assessment results, using cognitive training content, in order to enable safe performance in labor-intensive environments. The provided cognitive training content includes concentration, memory, oreintation, attention, and executive functions. Difficulty levels were applied to each content to enhance user engagement and interest. To stimulate interest and encourage active participation of the participants, the difficulty level was automatically adjusted based on feedback from the MMSE-DS results and content measurement data. Based on the accumulated data, individual training scenarios have been set differently to intensively improve insufficient cognitive skills, and cognitive training programs will be developed to reduce safety accidents at construction sites through measured data and research. Through such simple cognitive training, it is expected that the reduction of accidents in the aging construction workforce can lead to a decrease in the social costs associated with prolonged construction periods caused by accidents.

Meta learning-based open-set identification system for specific emitter identification in non-cooperative scenarios

  • The development of wireless communication technology has led to the underutilization of radio spectra. To address this limitation, an intelligent cognitive radio network was developed. Specific emitter identification (SEI) is a key technology in this network. However, in realistic non-cooperative scenarios, the system may detect signal classes beyond those in the training database, and only a few labeled signal samples are available for network training, both of which deteriorate identification performance. To overcome these challenges, a meta-learning-based open-set identification system is proposed for SEI. First, the received signals were pre-processed using bi-spectral analysis and a Radon transform to obtain signal representation vectors, which were then fed into an open-set SEI network. This network consisted of a deep feature extractor and an intrinsic feature memorizer that can detect signals of unknown classes and classify signals of different known classes. The training loss functions and the procedures of the open-set SEI network were then designed for parameter optimization. Considering the few-shot problems of open-set SEI, meta-training loss functions and meta-training procedures that require only a few labeled signal samples were further developed for open-set SEI network training. The experimental results demonstrate that this approach outperforms other state-of-the-art SEI methods in open-set scenarios. In addition, excellent open-set SEI performance was achieved using at least 50 training signal samples, and effective operation in low signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) environments was demonstrated.

  • Considering the present and expected demand for human resources by the maritime community, its quantity and quality depend on the number of the ships and the technology applied to them. Scientific and economic developments in this community bring the intensive use of modem technology for many of ships operation. Generally it effects to reduce the quantity of manpower, while it increases the requirement of qualifications of human resources to utilize such advanced technology. Considering above, the maritime education, training and research activities should be revised and updated according to the demand of the community. Because of a difference between the transition of the demand for the human resources and development of the maritime education, training and research activities, there are two most common questions as “What to teach” and “How to teach”. The first question has been asked for many years. The contents of maritime education and training are always related to the existing maritime knowledge and technology and should be updated with consideration of changes of the demand namely “Globalisation of maritime community”. It brings globalisation of the maritime education, training and research activities. The second question is still keeping us busy to look for the best way. Presently traditional methods are used together with new system, while the use of sophisticated simulation, communication and information systems etc. and it is changing our understanding on teaching. This paper introduces the new role of Maritime Institutions from the viewpoints of the maritime education. training and research activities. The role of guide for seafarers and maritime companies is always essential and the concepts such as “Refreshment Training”, “On the Job Training”, “Lifelong” or “Continuous Training” bring new understanding to the training period, trainee's age and position. As a result, the maritime institutions should be ready for their new role, which is, in brief, guiding the maritime society, recommending and providing new learning environments, organising research and developments, performing the education, training and assessment, improving existing methods and developing new methods of the education, training and assessment.

의사소통 분석 및 인적오류 연구 추이 (Research Trend of Communication Analysis and Human Error)

  • Method: We reviewed the papers of communication analysis studies in various fields and summarized communication error researches. Results: We proposed perspectives for communication error analysis and explained the need for extended analysis framework using advanced human-machine interfaces, which will cause the change of communication between operation team, including shifted abstraction phenomena. And we describe main concepts and the case study of H-H-S framework and finally introduce current studies of communication analysis in nuclear domain. Conclusion: The goal of communication analysis is common in all industries. We have to share and co-work for event prevention. Application: The results of the communication analysis might help to facilitate the understanding for interested researchers.

SBAR를 적용한 시뮬레이션 교육이 간호대학생의 의사소통명확성, 의사소통자신감, 임상의사결정능력에 미치는 효과 (The Effect of Simulation Training applying SBAR for Nursing Students on Communication Clarity, Self-Confidence in Communication, and Clinical Decision-Making Ability)

  • 본 연구는 간호대학생들이 의료인들과 인수인계 시 명확한 정보전달에 어려움이 있는 점을 개선하기 위하여 SBAR 적용 시뮬레이션 교육을 시행하여 그들의 의사소통명확성, 의사소통자신감, 임상의사결정능력에 미치는 효과를 확인하기 위한 단일군전후설계실험연구이다. 산모와 신생아의 응급상황을 기반으로 한 시뮬레이션 실습과 SBAR교육을 접목하여 의료진에게 응급상황에 대해 명료하고 간략하게 핵심을 전달하고, 의사소통 역량을 증진시킬 수 있도록 프로그램을 적용하였다. 대상자는 B광역시 소재 1개 대학의 4학년 간호대학생 91명이며, 자료수집기간은 2019년 2월 18일부터 2019년 2월 28일까지이었다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS/WIN 21.0 program을 이용하여 paired t-test로 분석하였다. 연구결과, 시뮬레이션 실습 후에 측정한 의사소통 명확성(t=-3.99, p<.001), 의사소통 자신감(t=-8.60, p<.001), 임상의사결정능력이(t=-4.66, p<.001) 통계적으로 유의하게 증가하였다. 따라서 예비의료인으로써 간호대학생의 임상현장에서의 의사소통능력과 임상의사결정능력을 증진시키기 위해 SBAR를 적용한 시뮬레이션실습 교육프로그램을 통해 간호대학생들의 전문성을 고취시키고, 임상현장에서의 적응력을 높이고자 한 점에서 본 연구의 의의가 크다. 또한 간호교육현장에서 의료인들 간의 의사소통을 체계화하기 위해서는 시뮬레이션 실습 뿐만 아니라 일반적인 임상실습에서도 SBAR보고방법이 숙련될 수 있도록 전략을 수립하여 간호대학생의 의사소통능력 향상에 기여해야 할 것으로 생각된다.

Delphi 기법을 활용한 학위연계형 고숙련마이스터 과정의 만족도 평가 문항 개발 (Development of Satisfaction Evaluation Items for Degree-linked High Skills Meister Courses using the Delphi Method)

  • 본 연구에서는 기업현장교사가 학위연계형 고숙련마이스터 과정에 학습근로자로 참여하여 일학습병행제 경력비전에서 제시하고 있는 스스로의 직무 역량을 향상시키고 응용력을 높이며, 고도화된 훈련 지도와 평가자로서의 역량을 강화하기 위한 기대 목표에 대한 만족도를 훈련 준비, 훈련 수행, 훈련 효과, 훈련 행정 측면에서 평가할 수 있는 평가문항을 개발하고 문항에 대한 타당성을 검증하였다. 이를 위해 델파이 기법을 활용하였으며, 연구 결과 4개 영역 6개 부문 총 48개 문항을 개발하였다. 훈련 준비 영역의 훈련과정 개발 만족도에 대하여 7개 평가 문항을, 훈련 수행 영역의 Off-JT와 OJT 과정의 만족도와 관련하여 21개 평가 문항을, 훈련 효과 영역의 기업현장교사로서의 역량 강화 만족도와 직무 적용 및 실무 활용 능력제고 만족도와 관련하여 16개 평가 문항을, 훈련 행정 영역에서는 행정지원만족도 평가를 위한 6개 평가 문항을 개발하고 평가 문항의 안정성, 내용 타당도, 합의도와 수렴도 지표를 통해 최종 적합도를 검증하였다. 본 연구 결과는 일학습병행 시범사업으로 추진 중인 고숙련마이스터 과정의 품질 관리를 위한 실무적 활용은 물론, 일학습병행 고숙련마이스터 과정 전반의 제도 개선 요인 등을 도출하기 위한 다양한 의견 수렴의 기초 조사 도구로서 참조될 수 있는 이론적 근거를 제공한다.

메이커 프로그램 교육을 통한 역량 수준 분석 (Competence Level Analysis Through Maker Program Education)

  • 4차 산업혁명 시대 창의 융합 인재 양성을 위해 대학에서는 지식 중심 교육에서 역량 중심의 교육으로 변화되고 있는 가운데 메이커 교육 프로그램은 새로운 교육 방법으로 관심을 받고 있다. 메이커 프로그램 교육을 통해 융합, 창의, 배려, 소통 역량에 대한 수준을 알아보고자 하였다. 대구시 소재 S 대학교 메이커 교육 프로그램에 참여한 방사선과 및 스포츠레저과 재학생 2, 3학년을 대상으로 2022년 5월 2일부터 5월 13일까지 설문조사를 실시하였다. 연구결과 융합 역량은 메이커 프로그램 교육 전 3.35 ± 0.78점, 교육 후 4.37 ± 0.61점, 창의 역량은 메이커 프로그램 교육 전 3.28 ± 0.78점, 교육 후 4.07 ± 0.69점, 배려 역량은 메이커 프로그램 교육 전 3.71 ± 0.80점, 교육 후 4.25 ± 0.64점, 소통 역량은 메이커 프로그램 교육 전 3.61 ± 0.70점, 교육 후 4.16 ± 0.63점으로 나타났다. 4개 역량 모두 교육 전과 비교 하였을 때 통계적으로 유의한 수준 차이가 있었으며, 교육 후 수준이 향상된 것으로 나타났다(p < 0.05). 메이커 교육 프로그램 운영을 통해 융합, 창의, 배려, 소통 역량 함양의 효과를 볼 수 있었다. 메이커 교육 프로그램은 4차 산업혁명 시대 창의융합 인재 양성을 위한 교육으로 볼 수 있으며, 더 많은 대학생들을 대상으로 다양한 메이커 교육 프로그램이 운영되어야 할 것으로 생각한다.

소방활동 현장지휘관 훈련용 콘텐츠 시나리오 개발에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Development of Training Content Scenarios for On-Site Commanders Engaged in Firefighting Activities)

  • 본 연구의 궁극적 목적은 소방활동 현장지휘관의 대응역량 강화이며, 그 일환으로 훈련용 콘텐츠 시나리오를 개발하였다. 현장지휘관의 상황판단력, 커뮤니케이션, 의사결정력을 3가지 핵심역량으로 설정하였다. 이 3가지 핵심역량이 시나리오 체계구성시 적극 반영될 수 있도록 구축하였다. 본 시나리오의 모든 내용은 재난현장 표준작전절차 SOP를 기반으로 구성하였다. 시나리오의 체계는 전체 14단계로 구성되며, 훈련의 시작과 마지막인 1단계와 14단계를 제외하면, 크게 4단계로 구분된다. 상황설정 단계와 1, 2, 3차 의사결정 단계로 구성되며, 특히 상황판단과 커뮤니케이션은 각 단계마다 중요한 요인이다.
