New Analysis Method for Wireless Power Transfer System with Multiple n Resonators

  • This paper presents a new method for analyzing the maximum efficiency of a wireless power transfer (WPT) system with multiple n resonators. The method is based on ABCD matrices and allows transformation of the WPT system with multiple n resonators into a single two-port network system. The general maximum efficiency equation of a WPT system with multiple n resonators is derived using the ABCD matrix. Use of this equation allows placement of the relay resonators for maximum efficiency even though they are asymmetrical. The general maximum efficiency equation and the method of the optimum placement are verified by a full wave simulation. The results show that the method is useful for the analysis of a WPT system with relay resonators.

마이크로파대용 선형 전력증폭기의 효율개선에 관한 연구 (Study on the improved efficiency of Microwave linear Power amplifier)

  • 현재의 디지털 통신 시스템은 매우 다양한 디지털 변조 방식을 채택하고 있다. 이러한 통신 시스템에서는 인접 채널에 대한 간섭을 최대한 줄이기 위해서 필연적으로 선형 전력증폭기를 요하며 동시에 높은 효율의 전력증폭기가 요구된다. 본 논문에서는 선형성 및 효율이 동시에 개선되는 방식의 Doherty전력 증폭기를 시뮬레이션 최적화 기법을 통해 설계하고 동시에 시뮬레이션을 통해 설계한 평형 전력 증폭기의 결과와 비교하여 효율이 20% 선형성이 10dB 개선됨을 보였다.

Antenna Radiation Efficiency of the Korean NDGPS Based on Radiation Power Measurements

  • The differential global positioning system (DGPS) transmits a GPS enhancement signal using a top-loaded monopole antenna in the medium frequency range. The top-loaded antenna in the medium frequency band can attain a radiation efficiency on the order of 10%. The antenna ground plane characteristics affect the antenna radiation efficiency. To improve the radiation efficiency, it is necessary to install the antenna on a ground plane with large enough physical dimensions and good conductivity. The antenna radiation efficiency is a primary factor in determining the DGPS service area. The service area of the DGPS using a medium frequency band is dominantly affected by the antenna radiation efficiency. To determine antenna radiation efficiencies accurately, the antenna radiation efficiencies of DGPS are deduced from the propagation power in this paper. Based on the deduced antenna radiation efficiencies, the service area for the Korean nationwide-DGPS is analyzed and evaluated.

  • This paper demonstrates a systematic approach for the design of broadband, high efficiency, high power, Class-AB RF amplifiers with high gain flatness. It is usually difficult to simultaneously achieve a high gain flatness and high efficiency in a broadband RF power amplifier, especially in a high power design. As a result, the use of a computer-aided simulation is most often the best way to achieve these goals; however, an appropriate initial value and a systematic approach are necessary for the simulation results to rapidly converge. These objectives can be accomplished with a minimum of trial and error through the following techniques. First, signal gain variations are reduced over a wide bandwidth using a proper pre-matching network. Then, the source and load impedances are satisfactorily obtained from small-signal and load-pull simulations, respectively. Finally, two high-order Chebyshev low-pass filters are employed to provide optimum input and output impedance matching networks over a bandwidth of 100 MHz-500 MHz. By using an EM simulation for the substrate, the simulation results were observed to be in close agreement with the measured results.

  • 해양 환경에서의 무선 통신은 거리가 먼 통신에 많은 전력이 필요하며, 이로 인해 에너지 소비가 매우 크다. 또한, 해양 환경에서는 많은 제약 조건이 존재하기 때문에 기존의 무선 통신 기술을 적용하기 어렵기 때문에 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위한 새로운 기술이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 해양 환경에서의 빔 선택 기술에 대해 연구하고 이를 통해 특정 지역에서 통신을 위해 필요한 빔을 선택하여 전송함으로써 전체 전력 소비를 줄이고, 신호 간 간섭을 최소화하여 더 나은 품질의 통신을 가능하게 한다. 이를 시뮬레이션을 통해 기존의 무선 통신 기술과 비교하여 에너지 효율성을 검증하고, 이러한 빔 선택 기술은 기존의 무선 통신 기술에 비해 전력 소비가 적으며, 더 나은 통신 품질을 제공함을 확인할 수 있었다. 따라서, 빔 선택 기술은 해양 환경에서의 효율적인 통신 시스템을 구축하는데 중요한 역할을 하며 이를 통해 보다 넓은 영역에서의 통신 품질 향상을 기대할 수 있다.

스마트 가로등 시스템의 전력선통신 필터 성능 개선 및 효율 평가 (PLC Filter Capacity Improvement and Efficiency Evaluation of Smart Street Lighting System)

  • In order to give handiness to the management of the existing street lighting system which is based on the one way communication and to reduce the maintenance cost, the power line communication filter in the two way communication which is based on the CDMA communication and power line communication was improved and accordingly the stability of the communication performance was improved. Also, the efficiency of existing street lighting system and smart street lighting system was evaluated as Visual studio system. As a result, when the number of street lights is 10,000, the hours of daily work fell 50% and the number of necessary maintenance staff decreased 40%. Compared to the maintenance costs of the existing street lighting system, it could be expected to have the cut costs of almost 100 million won a year on the basis of 60 switch board and 1,200 street lights.

  • This paper is proposed an efficiency optimization control algorithm for a synchronous reluctance motor which minimizes the copper and iron losses. The design of the speed controller based on fuzzy-neural networks(FNN) controller that is implemented using fuzzy control and neural networks. The control performance of the adaptive FNN controller is evaluated by analysis for various operating conditions. Simulation results are presented to show the validity of the proposed algorithm

Small Cell Communication Analysis based on Machine Learning in 5G Mobile Communication

  • Due to the recent increase in the mobile streaming market, mobile traffic is increasing exponentially. IMT-2020, named as the next generation mobile communication standard by ITU, is called the 5th generation mobile communication (5G), and is a technology that satisfies the data traffic capacity, low latency, high energy efficiency, and economic efficiency compared to the existing LTE (Long Term Evolution) system. 5G implements this technology by utilizing a high frequency band, but there is a problem of path loss due to the use of a high frequency band, which is greatly affected by system performance. In this paper, small cell technology was presented as a solution to the high frequency utilization of 5G mobile communication system, and furthermore, the system performance was improved by applying machine learning technology to macro communication and small cell communication method decision. It was found that the system performance was improved due to the technical application and the application of machine learning techniques.

  • This paper proposes a the high efficiency tracking system regarding power loss when operating a tracking system for environment variable such as a rapidly changing insolation to improve the power of PV tracking system. In case of tracking an azimuth and altitude of the sun in realtime, therefore, the actual PV power is less increasing than the power of tracking system fixed a specific position. To reduce the power loss, this paper proposes a nonel control algorithm of the tracking system. The paper is analyzed efficiency about conventional PV tracking method, comparing proposed algorithm with high Performance method. We show propriety of proposed algorithm by means of the demonstrable study.
