  • OLED in the spotlight of display market has advantages of low power driving, self-emission and fast response. But it has disadvantages of inefficient luminescence and high power consumption. Most of PM(passive Matrix) DC-DC converters in common use is using voltage divider. This voltage divider type has some difficulties of suitable electric device selection for voltage division and of the stabilized output due to feedback current trimming. Therefore, noise analysis and power solution in OLED are important technologies having an effect on electric characteristics. In this dissertation, we have obtained the stable output by using digital signals in multi-channel DC-DC converter, the profit of power consumption reduction of driving source and economical efficiency in the PCB board size.

  • A Container Security Device (CSD) which is different existing RFID Tag strengthens the physical security as mounted inside the container and the information security as encrypts doubly a data. CSD must use the resources efficiently in order to operate with the battery. Therefore, it needs low-power mechanism which repeats the sleep period and channel scan period. However, by adjusting these periods, the trade-off occurs between energy efficiency and network connectivity. In this paper, we implement low-power CSD and resolve this problem by adjusting beacon period and channel scan time. As a result, We guarantee the network connectivity 95% or more and maximum life up to 16 days using common AA batteries.

  • In cognitive radio networks, secondary transmitters should cease its transmission immediately under the detection of primary transmission in the spectrum they are using. Then they need to exploit another idle spectrums and resynchronize to the newly found idle spectrums. Most of related work presume the existence of separate control channel used by secondary users commonly for exchanging the information of idle spectrums. However, this presumption is not feasible in real world cognitive radio scenario. Therefore we address a proactive spectrum synchronization scheme with no need of separate control channel. Our scheme lets secondary users exchange the spectrum information periodically during normal communication process and determine the next spectrum band in advance of detecting primary transmission. We evaluate our scheme in a real world cognitive radio environments set up with USRPs.

  • A zero-watermarking algorithm in transform domain based on RGB channel and voting strategy is proposed. The registration and identification of ownership have achieved copyright protection for color images. In the ownership registration, discrete wavelet transform (DWT), discrete cosine transform (DCT), and singular value decomposition (SVD) are used comprehensively because they have the characteristics of multi-resolution, energy concentration and stability, which is conducive to improving the robustness of the proposed algorithm. In order to take full advantage of the characteristics of the image, we use three channels of R, G, and B of a color image to construct three master shares, instead of using data from only one channel. Then, in order to improve security, the master share is superimposed with the copyright watermark encrypted by the owner's key to generate an ownership share. When the ownership is authenticated, copyright watermarks are extracted from the three channels of the disputed image. Then using voting decisions, the final copyright information is determined by comparing the extracted three watermarks bit by bit. Experimental results show that the proposed zero watermarking scheme is robust to conventional attacks such as JPEG compression, noise addition, filtering and tampering, and has higher stability in various common color images.

  • It is well known that multipoint and computerized intraoperative mapping systems improve the results of surgery for Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome and show tremendous potential for opening an entirely new era of surgical intervention for the more common and lethal types of supraventricular tachyarrhythmias such as atrial flutter and atrial fibrillation. In addition, the ability to map and ablate the sometimes fleeting automatic atrial tachycardia is greatly enhanced by computerized mapping systems. In this study, we have developed 16 channel computerized data analysis system using microcomputer for basic research of electrophysiology and electrical propagation. This system is expected to enable us to study pathophysiology of cardiac arrhythmia and to improve the results of diagnosis and surgical treatment for cardiac arrhythmia.

  • The pyrovalves are widely used in aerospace industry for the opening and closing of flow channel due to the light-weight, high reliability and zero-leakage. In the United States, the loss of some spacecrafts using hydrazine as the propellent were proven by the blowby. Blowby is defined as the leakage of pyrovalve ignition combustion gas to the flow channel. Since then, the interference fit was applied for the sealing of piston to prevent the blowby. In this study, literature survey on pyrovalve technology is summarized mainly for AIAA papers. Common problems, improvement method, and performance comparisons of pyrovalves are also presented.

  • In cognitive radio ad hoc networks, secondary users need to exchange control information before data transmission. This task is not trivial in cognitive radio networks due to the dynamic nature of environment. This problem is sometime called rendezvous problem of cognitive radio network. The rendezvous problem is normally tackled by using two famous approaches: the use of common control channel (CCC) and using channel hopping (a.k.a sequence-based protocols). However, these two famous solutions form a vicious cycle while solving the rendezvous problem. The main purpose of this paper is to point out how and why this vicious cycle is formed.

  • Capsaicin, a pungent ingredient in chili pepper, is known to excite sensory neurons that mediate pain sensation. This effect of capsaicin is determined by unique receptors and the capsaicin receptor (transient receptor potential subfamily V, member 1 (TRPV1)) was cloned recently. TRPV1 contains six transmembrane domains and three ankyrin repeats at N-terminal. This characteristic architecture is common in other ion channel in TRPV families. (omitted)

  • Performance of downlink transmission strategies exploiting cooperative transmit diversity is investigated for distributed multiple-input single-output (MISO) systems, for which geographically distributed remote antennas (RA) in a cell can either communicate with distinct mobile stations (MS) or cooperate for a common MS. Statistical characteristics in terms of the signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio (SINR) and the achievable capacity are analyzed for both cooperative and non-cooperative transmission schemes, and the preferred mode of operation for given channel conditions is presented using the analysis result. In particular, we determine an exact amount of the maximum achievable gain in capacity when RAs for signal transmission are selected based on the instantaneous channel condition, by deriving a general expression for the SINR of such antenna selection based transmission. For important special cases of selecting a single RA for non-cooperative transmission and selecting two RAs for cooperative transmission among three RAs surrounding the MS, closed-form formulas are presented for the SINR and capacity distributions.
