Injuries of wrist in upper extremity is common onset in industrialized world. The development of joint arthroplasty and mechanical joint is area of research for biomechanical engineer and surgeon for a decade. Therefore. the knowledge of characteristic of joint motion is essential to develop the artificial wrist joint. In this study. the joint motions of wrist required for activities of daily living (ADLs). including personal hygiene and care. and general home activity were measured using flexible electrogoniometer. Total of 25 different daily activities were separated into four groups and tested on 15 subjects who did not show any abnormality of their joint functions. The maximum functional range of motion required for ADLs were obtained and standardized for analysis and comparison. Also. a least functional range of motion for ADLs were investigated. Results revealed that any significant differences were not found in least functional range of motion between left and right wrist to perform ADLs. However. a significant difference was found in different ADLs. Therefore. least range of motion obtained in this study can be used as basic data to design artificial joint and set a goal for surgeon to achieve appropriate treatment from patients.
Starting from common sense that happiness is a state where needs are satisfied, this paper suggests the intelligence and the virtues for democratic citizens. The fact that human beings exist, relate to each other, and undertake activities which can become of moral worth when joined by autonomy, equality, and responsibility, respectively, is explained. It is also discussed that happy citizens should be able to exist autonomously in the face of political power, make an equal relationship with political power and fellow citizens, and undertake responsible activities. Lastly, it is suggested that happy citizens should be able to understand the plurality of value-contents, the similarity of value-forms, and the possibility of value-realization, and then be equipped with self-respect, mutual respect, and law-respect.
Objective: The purpose of this study was to analyze the Nuri-curriculum daycare programs for 3, 4, and 5-year-olds based on the Child Welfare Act. Methods: Data were analyzed according to the analysis criteria for 195 children's safety education programs in the Nuri-Program. The analyzed data used frequency and percentages. Results: First, life safety education was the most important element. And after looking at the contents category of the Child Welfare Act, the results in order are as follows: "raffic safety"; "Health and hygiene management, including the prevention of contagious diseases and drug abuse"; "Safety measures against disasters"; "Precaution and prevention of disappearance and abduction"; and "Prevention of sexual violence and child abuse." Second, there were many safety education activities in accordance to chronological age (3-to 5-years old). Health and safety by subject, season, and life tools were more frequent. By type of activity, conversation and language activity, fairy tales, and plays were the most common activities. Conclusion/Implications: This suggests the need to systematically plan safety education content through a program that links safety-related laws and elements related to the Nuri curriculum in child care centers.
In vitro antioxidant and anticoagulant activities of 50% ethanolic extract from Ganghwa medicinal mugwort (Artemisia princeps Pampanini) were investigated. The polyphenol and flavonoid contents of the mugwort extract were 106.9±3.3 and 34.1±0.4 mg/g-extract, respectively. The mugwort extract possessed a potent scavenging activity against radicals and nitrite, reducing power, and lipid peroxidation inhibition activity in a concentration-dependent manner. Also the mugwort extract delayed the plasma coagulation time through the inhibition of common coagulation pathway in a dose-dependent manner.
Purpose : The purpose of this study was to evaluate the relationship between physical performance, such as gait and postural control, and cognition on as assessed by clinical tools in individuals with chronic hemiparetic stroke. Methods : Twenty-six patients who had hemiparetic stroke participated in this study, and were evaluated four common clinical measurements, including the Berg balance scale (BBS), 10 meter walk test (10MWT), 6 minute walking test (6MWT), and Montreal cognitive assessment (MoCA). Multiple regression analysis was used BBS score, 10MWT, and 6MWT as the dependent variables; MoCA score, post-stroke duration, age, and affected side as independent variables. Results : In the regression equation of the BBS score, the correlation coefficient (r) was 0.875, the coefficient of determination (R2) was 0.786, and the MoCA score was the most important variable for determining the BBS score. In the regression equation for the 10MWT, ther was 0.888, the R2 was 0.999, and the MoCA score was the most important variable for determining 10MWT. Finally, the r was 0.777, the R2 was 0.998, and the MoCA score was the most important variable for determining 6MWT in the regression equation of the 6MWT. Conclusion : The results show that cognitive abilities affect gait proficiencies in individuals with chronic hemiparetic stroke. Therefore, these results suggest that cognitive tests are necessary for examining and evaluating the abilities of postural control and gait performance for chronic stroke patients in research and clinical environments.

Purpose: This pilot study aimed to clarify features of motor module during walking in exercise experts who experienced lately repeated training for sports skill. To identify motor modules, autoencoder machine learning algorithm was used, and modules were extracted from muscle activities of lower extremities. Research design, data and methodology: A total of 10 university students were participated. 5 students did not experience any sports training before, and 5 students did experience sports training more than 5 years. Eight muscle activities of dominant lower extremity were measured. After modules were extracted by autoencoder, the numbers of modules and spatial muscle weight values were compared between two groups. Results: There was no significant difference in the minimal number of motor modules that explain more than 90% of original data between groups. However, in similarity analysis, three motor modules were shown high similarity (r>0.8) while one module was shown low similarity (r<0.5). Conclusions: This study found not only common motor modules between exercise novice and expert during walking, but also found that a specific motor module, which would be associated with high motor control ability to distinguish the level of motor performance in the field of sports.
Glycosyltransferase (GT)-specific degenerate PCR screening followed by in silico sequence analyses of the target clone was used to isolate a member of family1 GT-encoding genes from the established fosmid libraries of soil actinomycetes Micromonospora echinospora ATCC 27932. A recombinant MeUGT1 was heterologously expressed as a His-tagged protein in E. coli, and its enzymatic reaction with semi-synthetic phenoxodiol isoflavene (as a glycosyl acceptor) and uridine diphosphate-glucose (as a glycosyl donor) created two different glycol-attached products, thus revealing that MeUGT1 functions as an isoflavonoid glycosyltransferase with regional flexibility. Chromatographic separation of product glycosides followed by the instrumental analyses, clearly confirmed these previously unprecedented glycosides as phenoxodiol-4'-α-O-glucoside and phenoxodiol-7-α-O-glucoside, respectively. The antioxidant activities of the above glycosides are almost the same as that of parental phenoxodiol, whereas their anti-proliferative activities are all superior to that of cisplatin (the most common platinum chemotherapy drug) against two human carcinoma cells, ovarian SKOV-3 and prostate DU-145. In addition, they are more water-soluble than their parental aglycone, as well as remaining intractable to the simulated in vitro digestion test, hence demonstrating the pharmacological potential for the enhanced bio-accessibility of phenoxodiol glycosides. This is the first report on the microbial enzymatic biosynthesis of phenoxodiol glucosides.

Based on findings, the study proposed to induce local residents' interest in small libraries, expand reading culture program, secure professionalism of management manpower, recruit more management manpower, expand budgets for the management of a small library, establish a set of criteria for the expenses of management manpower, build a support center for small libraries.
Continuous cropping obstacles have become a serious factor restricting sustainable development in modern agriculture, while companion planting is one of the most common and effective methods for solving this problem. Here, we monitored the effects of companion planting on soil fertility and the microbial community distribution pattern in pepper monoculture and companion plantings. Soil microbial communities were analyzed using high-throughput sequencing technology. Companion plants included garlic (T1), oat (T2), cabbage (T3), celery (T4), and white clover (T5). The results showed that compared with the monoculture system, companion planting significantly increased the activities of soil urease (except for T5) and sucrase, but decreased catalase activity. In addition, T2 significantly improved microbial diversity (Shannon index) while T1 resulted in a decrease of bacterial OTUs and an increase of fungal OTUs. Companion planting also significantly changed soil microbial community structures and compositions. Correlation analysis showed that soil enzyme activities were closely correlated with bacterial and fungal community structures. Moreover, the companion system weakened the complexity of microbial networks. These findings indicated that companion plants can provide nutrition to microbes and weaken the competition among them, which offers a theoretical basis and data for further research into methods for reducing continuous cropping obstacles in agriculture.
Using a procurement and construction stage emphasis on the capabilities of the Sub-Contractor (SC), the present research aims to discover the types of unfair activities between the Main Contractor (MC) and SC and their influence on project completion. This research also tries to figure out solutions which can reduce unfair activities between MC and SC. Research design, data and methodology: The qualitative textual analysis was selected for the current research and has been used by numerous previous researchers commonly to review relevant themes in the prior resources and suggested for researchers who conduct a reviewing procedure to analyze meta-analysis approach for figuring out better research findings from prior resources. Results: The result indicates the prevalence and consequences of bid shopping, emphasizing the need for transparency and fair bidding practices. Late payment issues were also found to be crucial for subcontractors' financial stability, urging the implementation of prompt payment legislation and agreements. Conclusions: In conclusion, the research revealed that subcontracting is common in construction projects, with general contractors relying on multiple subcontractors to carry out specific work items. The accomplishment of building projects hinges on the collaborative efforts between the main contractor (MC) and subcontractors (SCs), each focusing on different aspects of the project.
