  • This paper describes a new dc/ac inverter system, which makes use of parallel loaded high frequency resonant inverter consisting of full bridge, for achieving sinusoidal ac waveform. Because current throughout switch at turn-on is always zero in proposed inverter, low stress and low switching loss is achieved. Operating characteristic of proposed system is analyzed in per unit system using computer simulation. Output voltage of it include low harmonics and almost close tn sine wave.

  • PWM(Pluse Width Modulation) induction motor drives are being used in greater numvers through a wide variety of industrial and commercial applications. In this paper, a new speed control algorithm (hybrid algorithm) for induction motor drives that uses regular sampled PWM and harmonic elimination PWM is presented. The hybrid algorithm in implemeted on the computer to obtain solutions from the calculation equations of the width of the pulses and the firing angles for the selected harmonic elimination. this paper describes the time delay effects and the suitable compensating methods moreover, optical transmission system for driving signals is proposed and is compared with general trnasmission system. The hybrid inverter was tested with induction motor, and these test results are shown that this hybrid inverter closely approximates and exhibits many of the desirable performance characteristic distortions and eliminated the objectionable harmonics. Finally, detailed experimental investigation of the proposed hybrid scheme in presented.

  • DC transit system has been adopted in the metropolitan area, Korea since 1974. EMU in this system always reiterates that acceleration and retardation. When EMU decelerates using electric breaking, regenerative power occurs. Regenerative power can be consumed in vicinity EMU on the same line or in resistor. If DC transit system has inverter for reusing regenerative power, Energy efficiency in DC transit system will be increased. This paper present the adoption of developed inverter in commercial railway line and the test result procedure of developed inverter is presented.

  • The voltage resonating inverter has a defect in switching element that works at 5 or 6times higher than input voltage. Especially, it is very difficult to choose the switching device is very high for the 220(V)commercial voltage. In this paper, it is proposed the optimum method to realize the turbo 2000(W) power for induction cooker that is employed the 900(V) IGBT with decreasing operating voltage of the switching component by making the 220(V), 1500(W) inverter through the claim mode voltage resonating inverter.

A General Purpose Inverter Set-Up for Power Electronics Laboratory Experiments

  • A general purpose experimental set-up has been designed and implemented for students to carry out various experiments on inverters in the power electronics laboratories of universities, during a few hours of laboratory work. This is the first inverter setup that incorporates hardware and software control, as well as an optional user interface in a laboratory experimental set-up of a single multi-purpose inverter, thus making the system versatile and very practical for both undergraduate and graduate students. The system can be controlled either by a computer or through a liquid crystal display (LCD) and a keypad control unit, and it constitutes a low-cost alternative to relatively expensive commercial teaching sets. The computer provides a user friendly interface and easier control for laboratory environments equipped with computers. The LCD and keypad units eliminate the need for a computer, which makes this system usable in the laboratory as a standalone unit as well.

  • Driven by the growth of the Internet and the increasing ubiquity of embedded computing systems, the embedded system is exploding in terms of it proliferation of products and the number of complex applications. Intelligent dedicated systems and appliances used in interface, monitoring, communications, and control applications increasingly demand the services of a sophisticated, state-of-the-art operating system. In the case of industrial controller, it is required to use a real-time operating system (RTOS) as a good building block to enable Internet connectivity. However, commercial RTOSes are increasingly less desirable due to their lack of standardization and their inability to keep pace with the rapid evolution of technology. In order to overcome these problems, we consider using embedded Linux and embedded web server. Availability of source code, reduced licensing, reliability, open source community support, as well as others, are key reasons for the use of embedded linux by embedded developers. In this paper, we develop embedded linux platform to control the industrial inverter with the Internet connecting feature. The method of web-based management is also proposed by using the embedded web server and Java applet. We show the feasibility of remote management for the commercial inverter controller with the proposed three-tier web-based remote management system.

휴리스틱 기법을 이용한 비통신 인버터형 냉장시스템의 성능개선 알고리즘 개발 (Heuristic Algorithm for Performance Improvement of Non-Communication Inverter Type Refrigerator)

  • Inverter-Type refrigerators are known to consume less energy by varying the inverter frequency according to indoor temperatures and refrigerant pressure through indoor-outdoor communication. However, many commercial operators cannot afford to replace indoor units with ones capable of communication. In a non-communication configuration, indoor units are connected with an inverter-type outdoor unit without intercommunication abilities. The research goal is finding appropriate operating parameters to achieve energy efficiency. Thus, an operation algorithm with two modes is proposed, i.e., one to search the best operating parameters and one for normal operation with the best parameters. The experimental evaluation showed 11.27% reduction in energy consumption, indicating a good applicability of the algorithm.

  • 유도 전동기의 인버터 사용이 증가하면서, 인버터의 고주파 스위칭에 대한 유도전동기의 특성 해석 연구가 요구되고 있다. 그러나 기존의 연구들은 인버터와의 결합 모델의 개발 필요성을 느끼고 있으면서도 인버터 모델링의 어려움뿐만 아니라 결합 어려움 때문에 고정된 전원을 가정하고, 유도기 모델을 단순화 시켜서 모사를 하고 있는 경우가 대부분이다. 이에 인버터로 구동되는 유도 전동기의 고주파 해석 모델과 고주파 고려 유도 전동기 해석 모델 및 인버터 동작을 시뮬레이션할 수 있는 모델을 개발하여, 위와 같은 경우의 시뮬레이션을 가능하게 하고자 한다. 이로부터, 인버터에 의한 유도전동기 구동에서의 고주파에 의한 영향을 해석할 수 있다.

ZCS를 이용한 고주파 공진형 상용주파수 전원에 관한 연구 (A Study on Commercial Frequency Source with High Frequency Resonant Type using ZCS)

  • This paper describes a new dc-ac inverter system which for achieving sinusoidal ac waveform makes use of parallel loaded high frequency resonant inverter consisting of full bridge. Each one of the pair of switches in the inverter is driven to synchronous output frequency and the other is driven to PWM signal with resonant frequency proportional to magnitude of sine wave. A forced discontinuous conduction mode is used to realize the quasi-sinusoidal pulse in each switching period. Therefore the inverter generates sinusoidal modulated output voltage including carrier frequency that is resonant frequency. Carrier frequency components of modulated output voltage is filtered by low pass filter. Since current through switches is always zero at its turn-on in the proposed inverter, low stress and low switching loss is achieved. Operating characteristics of the proposed system is analyzed in per unit system using computer simulation. The output voltage of if includes low harmonics and it is almost close to sine wave. Also, the theoretical analysis is proved through the experimental test.

  • The inverter resistance welder requires AC/DC converter of high efficiency because the converter changes a commercial ac power source to low voltage dc power source. Harmonic components that occur in the conversion process of converter decrease system power factor and deal great damage in electric power system. To improve such problems, this paper proposes a high efficiency AC/DC converter for inverter resistance welder. The switching devices in the proposed converter are operated by soft switching technique using a new quasi-resonant circuit. As a result, the proposed AC/DC converter obtains low switching power loss and high efficiency.
