Purpose: Double skin facade is a representative advantageous passive technology of building skin in the aspect of energy saving and environment improvement, reduces heat loss with buffer space in winter season and enhances indoor air and comfort of residents by activating natural ventilation in mid-season. However, in summer season, temperature increase in the intermediate space due to solar energy from exterior transparent skin could be a potential problem; also, relatively weak buoyancy of air caused by low density difference between double-skin facade could increase cooling load as air of intermediate space in high temperature hangs. However, proof data is insufficient to objectify such phenomenon. Method: In this study, researchers surveyed air temperature of intermediate space and airflow and diagnosed its cause targeting on applied multistory facade in the building which gives thermal uncomfort to residents. Also, the researchers produced Solar-air heat transfer coefficient meter, measured thermal boundary condition of double-skin facade, and presented the result of measurement as an objectified verification material regarding overheating phenomenon in the intermediate space of double-skin facade in summer season. Result: Inefficient condition was verified that total heat increases and overheating due to insufficient natural ventilation in multistory facade. In addition, logic behind preceding research was objectified and verified regarding high temperature phenomenon in the intermediate space which could increase cooling load in summer season.

Purpose: This study was to explore the perception about menstruation and discomforts of using disposable menstrual pads in menstruating women. Method: A survey was conducted of 132 menstrual women recruited by convenience sampling. Data were collected by a face-to-face interview and a study questionnaire, and analyzed by frequency and $X^2$-test. Result: More than half of the subjects expressed a negative perception about menstruation, while 25% expressed a mixed perception and 24.2% expressed a positive perception. Women who perceived their menstruation negatively had more menstrual pain than the others (p<.001). The most frequently experienced discomforts of using disposable pads were an unpleasant smell (18.9%), leakage (18.9%), and discomfort (16.6%). Adverse effects of using disposable pads were reported as an itching sense (23.1%). skin rash (20.2%), and skin irritation (10.6%). Alternate materials were reported with tampons, alternate washable pads, and maternity pads. Conclusion: The results indicate that disposable menstrual pads cause several discomforts and common adverse effects such as skin problems. To decrease these discomforts and relieve adverse effects, planned nursing education including women's personal hygiene methods and information about an alternate pad may be helpful.
Window system is an essential component for lighting, ventilation and thermal environment in buildings. Moreover, as balcony extension in apartment houses become legalized, the performance requirements of window systems in balcony space are getting complicated. However, at this moment, five properties of the windows are used to represent the performance aspects of the system, including wind resistance, air tightness, water tightness, sound insulation, thermal resistance. And such single properties are not capable to express the performance of a space with the window systems in terms of performance concept. A performance analysis with wholistic approach is required to see the effect of the window system in built environment. Thus, performance-based approach should be established, which will be able to evaluate the goal/function and comfort of occupants/owners. As the first step to develop the performance indicator for the window systme for balcony space, this study conducts a survey to find the required performance aspects. A complete set of performance-based indicators will be developed with verification methods in the later stage of research.

This study was intended to investigate the wearing conditions of shirts, and examine the preferred subjective sensation for shirt fabrics. A questionnaire survey was conducted on 469 university students (male students $45.3\%$, female students $54.7\%$) in the Cheongju area, Korea. Frequency, descriptive analysis, $\x^2$ and t-tests were used for data analysis. The results were as follows: Regardless of gender, most owned 4 shirts in the autumn, which were each worn once or twice week. Generally, patterned shirts were less favored than those with solid colors, regardless of gender, but the color of the shirts differed slightly according to gender. Most students gathered items from those displayed in the store as their source of information on shirts, and tended to purchase items worth $30,000\~50,000$ won at franchised stores with friends of the same gender. They almost always looked carefully at the size and brand, but the care label and fiber content were rather neglected during the purchase. While purchasing their shirts, the following elements were considered, in this order of importance: size; color; fitness; comfort; price; tactile sensation. Light, dense, soft, warm, wrinkle-free, dry and strong sensation of the shirt fabrics were the strongest preferences for a purchase. The spread of smartphones enabled the two-way communication through the Internet, and character emoticons added fun and comfort to communication among users. To figure out laughter-arousing factors, a survey about emoticon designs of Kakaotalk Itemstore was conducted, targeting university students in their twenties. An interaction of 'user-preferred emoticons' and 'laughter-arousing emoticons' was analyzed. 90% of 'user-preferred emoticons' were 'humorous emoticons', and 84% of respondents answered that there is a relationship between 'user-preferred emoticons' and 'laughter-arousing emoticons'. Consequently, a high interaction between the 'rank of emoticons' and 'laughter-arousing emoticons' was derived. Also, factors of laughter-arousing emoticons were analyzed by studying the ranks of emoticon from 1st to 8th of Kakaotalk Itemstore. Two-divisional figures reminding pure kids, maximization of emotional expression by omission or exaggeration of mouth, and smoothness by concave curves aroused laughter. Intuitively understandable gestures were employed in terms of action. Furthermore, two-divisional figures' acting with comparably small body, hands and foot to their head, and people-mimicking motions of animals with cuteness and familiarity enabled arousal of laughter. In facial expressions, humorous articulation of sad, busy or mad expression enabled positive communion among users.
