플렉시블 무기EL 색변환 백색 발광 소자 제작 및 특성평가 (The Fabrication and Characteristics of White Emission using CCM on Flexible Substrate)

  • EL (electro-luminescent) device as a light source has an advantage in embodying large area with great flexibility. On nickel foil as an electrode and backplane, we demonstrated a white EL flexible light source with blue phosphor layer combined with color change layer. A correlation between color change layer and color coordination was analyzed by Gaussian method, and then the color coordinate was controlled near to (0.33, 0.33) of pure white light.

감염색의 농도변화와 매염효과를 통해본 천연염색 디자인 (The Persimmon Dye with Experiment of Changing Concentration and Iron-dye Process, its Application Possibility for Textile Design)

  • The data for application of mordanting is shown in this experiment by researching dying properties of iron-dye process and concentration changes using persimmon. The strength of persimmon-dying fabrics was controlled by diluting persimmon dye with water and iron mordanting showed the possibility of textile design. The experiments were performed with various conditions processed with iron mordanting liquid by adding water to persimmon-dying liquid and drying well. The most dark color of fabric is observed with the pure persimmon dying without adding water. As the adding water is increased, the color of the fabric is getting lighter with the amount of adding water. After process of iron mordanting, dark color of the fabric turns into dark grey and light color turns into light grey. The possibility of persimmon dying with fabric can be applied in the design of textile with deepened color.

시간의 노화에 따른 Yellow와 Blue에 대한 색지각 특성 (Characteristics of Color Perception about Yellow and Blue with Human Lens Coloration)

  • With the progress of the aging society into the aged society, the planning of senior housing is inevitably required. Among the factors of planning, color appeals to people's vision which mostly accepts information about the environment, so age-related color vision changes should be studied. The purpose of the study is to find out characteristics of color perception focused on yellow and blue with advancing of the yellowed eye sight in the old age. The findings are as follows. (1) Regardless of gender, losses of color perception in sensitivity is occurred as aging is proceeded. But the rate of reduction is mitigated compared with the ex-research in Japan because of the promotion of physical health. (2) Human lens coloration was not common until 85 years old and the hue of yellow and red was easily perceived by the older subjects. (3) Yellow is more preferred to other colors by the elderly and accuracy of yellow-color perception is higher than that of blue-color. (4) It is especially hard for the elderly to perceive the difference between pure blue and mixture of blue-green. Therefore blue and blue-green should not be adopted simultaneously in senior housing environment. Except for the space which specially requires carefulness, various color preferred by the elderly should be applied to the senior housing environment to satisfy their psychological condition and provide the vitality of life.

한국 기층문화의 전통복식에 나타난 오방색 특성 (The Characteristics of Five-elements Color of Traditional Costume of Korean Basic Culture)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine a unique characteristic of the colors of the costumes in Korean basic culture in the aim of seeking Five-elements color found in Korean civilian's costume culture. The scope of Korean basic culture was 32 items specified as an import intangible cultural asset in the side of religion and art for the majority of the Korean people. Within these limits, the colors of the dress, accessories, instruments were extracted by comparing with the naked eye in NCS Color System. The result of this investigation was that Red was yellowish red and high chromatic and deep tone within 4area. Blue was purplish blue and high chromatic and deep tone within 4area, similarly Red. Yellow was pure yellow and high chromatic and bright tone within 3area. Red and Blue in Korean basic culture were more primary color and more high brightness than Korean traditional colors. Religion and art fer Korean civilian revealing the Korean basic culture reflected impending real-life of Korean civilian who intend to overcome their desperate reality at using Five-elements color in their costume.

  • Ceramic glaze has been developed by numerous experiences and knowhow of potters for a long time. It has offered curiosity and beauty to many people with a variety of colors. This study first verifies the color difference according to clays and glazing used for the coloration experiment based on generation process and chemical reaction of cobalt sulfate, and determines the effect of a dilution ratio with water on changes in coloration concentration. The cobalt-aluminate spinel and the cobalt-silicate olivine are the strongest of the ceramic pigment, producing a very pure, navy blue color.

의약품과 의약외품에 사용되는 타르순색소의 관리방안을 위한 조사연구 (Investigation for the Management Methods of Pure Tar Color Additives for Drugs and Quasi-drugs)

  • Background: This study was aimed to establish the systematic management methods of tar color additives used in Korea for drugs and quasi-drugs. Although tar color additives have been used in various areas, safety problems are continuously being reported by several studies. For that reason, major countries like US, Japan, Europe are trying to update the safety information of tar color additives and the related management methods, and Korea also need to complement them based on the updated information for their safer use. Method: This report includes the compared information of all legally used tar color additives of each country, such as color additive name, compound name and chemical abstracts service registry number. Conclusion: It is expected that these investigated results will be useful as the basic materials for proper management guidelines of tar color additives in Korea.

Co-deposition and Tuned Blue Emission Color from New Tetraphenylethylene Derivatives

  • By combining tetraphenylethylene and anthracene, we synthesized 9,10-bis(4-(1,2,2-triphenylvinyl)phenyl) anthracene [BTPPA] and 1,2-di(4'-tert-butylphenyl)-1,2-bis(4'-(anthracene-9-yl)phenyl)ethene [BPBAPE]; both BTPPA and BPBAPE have similar band-gaps, however their PL spectra were shifted by about 30 nm with respect to each other. The fabricated multilayered non-doped OLED devices based on pure BTPPA or BPBAPE exhibited luminance efficiencies of 3.93 cd/A at 6.8 V and 10.33 cd/A at 8.1 V, respectively, at $10\;mA/cm^2$. As the BPBAPE content of the emitting layer increased, the luminance efficiency of the device increased; in addition, the CIE coordinates of the fabricated devices shifted gradually from deep-blue for pure BTPPA to sky-blue for pure BPBAPE.

  • Three primary color super hydrophobic dyes were used to dye unmodified polypropylene fiber for various practical color. The color values of the dyed fibers were displayed on CIE 1931 Yxy chromaticity diagram. It was found that they showed various colors between three primary colors on the unmodified polypropylene fiber.

  • Deep red color emitting $YVO_4:Eu^{3+}$ phosphors were investigated in an attempt to achieve promising performances in cold cathode fluorescent lamp (CCFL) applications. For this purpose, several additives such as LiF, $Li_2CO_3$ and $HBO_3$ were introduced in the processing. While two of the additives were ineffective, the inclusion of $LiCO_3$ during the solid state synthesis of $YVO_4:Eu^{3+}$ phosphors was proven to enhance photoluminescent intensity and the color chromaticity. Unlike the commercially available $YVO_4:Eu^{3+}$ red phosphor for use in PDP applications, pure $YVO_4:Eu^{3+}$ excluding phosphorous was shown to be favorable for CCFL applications, improving color chromaticity at 254nm excitations.
