  • Multicultural students are a rapidly growing population in South Korea. Previous studies from the South Korean mathematics education community have reported low mathematics achievement levels of this population compared to Korean-born students. However, a systematic literature review was hardly employed. This study aims to synthesize the factors that affect the mathematics achievement of multicultural students to provide directions for future research and practical directions. Using an Opportunity-Propensity framework suggested by Byrnes and Miller, this study analyzed twenty-seven peer-reviewed journal articles on this topic. The results showed that the majority of the studies focused on the impact of the opportunity factors such as mathematics curriculum and teachers on mathematics achievements. We suggest that more studies regarding distal factors (e.g., students' prior achievement) and propensity factors (e.g., prerequisite knowledge) are needed.

  • In this paper we deal with two questions: 1) How have prospective teachers reflected mathematics curriculum reform in their planning of mathematics lessons\ulcorner 2) To what extent were the pre-service teachers able to be reflective about their planning of mathematics lessons\ulcorner Form analyses of videotapes, field notes, discussions among the college students, we found four features in the prospective teacher\\`s lesson plans and their teaching.

  • In this paper, we introduce how we developed a dynamic Excel Grapher which can be used for mathematics education. Developed tools can be used in college mathematics as well as a secondary school mathematics education. It can be downloaded for your test or teaching. • In this paper we propose an inquiry task on the subject of congruent triangles. The task deals with conditions that are sufficient for congruency, and conditions that are insufficient. The aim of the task is to find the minimal number of identical components in two triangles that is sufficient to ensure congruency.

  • The key features of our integrated approach to teaching and loaming college mathematics include interactive and discussion-based teaching, small group work, computer as a tool, problem solving approach, open approach, mathematics in context, emphasis on mathematical thinking and creativity, and writing/communicating about mathematics. In this paper we report a few examples to illustrate the type of problems we use in our integrated approach.

  • In this paper, we use the use the linear operator ʒxτ,σ(u, v, y)𝔣(z) and the concept of the subordination to analyse the general class of all analytic univalent functions. Our main results are implication properties between the classes of such functions and the application of these properties to special cases.

  • In this paper, we selected 145 students from engineering college students who took P University's the Scholastic Level Assessment and registered the Basic Mathematics Class among the students who achieved 4th~7th grade in the mathematics B-type of the College Scholastic Ability Test. We compared and analyzed the correlation among the chosen students' grade for the College Scholastic Ability Test, test results of the Scholastic Level Assessment and mid-term test of the Basic Mathematics Subject, type of college entrance and actual condition survey of students in order to derive optimized teaching method for general mathematics subjects which can possibly increase the students' academic ability.
