We have studied a method to design and fabricate the Intermediate Frequency(IF) band pass filter with low shape factor which is used for CDMA base station on the 35°Y-cut X-propagation Quartz substrate. In order to fabricate a device of the low shape factor for the IF SAW filter on this substrate, we employed apodization weighted type interdigital transducer(IDT) as an input and withdrawal weighted type IDT as an output by using impulse modelling method. Also, using the Kaiser-Bessel window function, we have adopted 2200pairs and 1000pairs of input and oueut IDT respectively to minimize the effect of ripple. Furthermore, the width and the space of IDT finger are 3.6 ㎛ and 3.5 ㎛ respectively. Thus, we can have optimal results when the IDT thickness is 6000Å in consideration of the ratio of SAW's wavelength while it's aperture is 2mm for impedance matching. The fabricated SAW filter for CDMA had the property of almost 115.2MHz of a center frequency, less then 1.27MHz of bandwidth, less than 1.3 of shape factor, - l5dB of out band attenuation insertion loss and -45dB of rejection band.
The axisymmetric methane-air counterflow flame was simulated to investigate changes in the flame structure due to the fuel concentration and to evaluate the numerical method. The global strain rates $a_g=20,\;60,\;90\;s^{-1}$ and the mole fractions of methane $x_m=20,\;50,\;80\%$ in the fuel stream were taken to be numerical parameters. The axisymmetric simulation was conducted by using the Fire Dynamics Simulator (FDS) which employed a mixture fraction combustion model, and the results were compared with those of OPPDIF, which is an one-dimensional flamelet code and includes detail chemical reactions. In all the cases tested, there was good agreement in the temperature and axial velocity profiles between the axisymmetric and one-dimensional simulations. It was shown that the flame thickness and peak flame temperature increase and the flame radius decreases as the fuel concentration increases.
According to the Baltimore Scheme, viruses are classified into 6 main classes based on their replication and coding strategies. Except for some small DNA viruses, most viruses code for their own polymerases: DNA-dependent DNA, RNA-dependent RNA and RNA-dependent DNA polymerases, all of which contain 4 common motifs. We undertook a phylogenetic study to establish the relationship between the Baltimore Scheme and viral polymerases. Amino acid sequence data sets of viral polymerases were taken from NCBI GenBank, and a multiple alignment was performed with CLUSTAL X program. Phylogenetic trees of viral polymerases constructed from the distance matrices were generally consistent with Baltimore Scheme with some minor exceptions. Interestingly, negative RNA viruses (Class V) could be further divided into 2 subgroups with segmented and non-segmented genomes. Thus, Baltimore Scheme for viral taxonomy could be supported by phylogenetic analysis based on the amino acid sequences of viral polymerases.
We examined the variation of percent depth dose (PDD) curves for 10 MV X-rays in the presence of magnetic fields. The EGS4 Monte Carlo code was applied and modified to take account of the effect of electron deflection under magnetic field was used. We defined and tested DI (dose improvement) and DR (dose reduction) to describe variation of PDD curves under various magnetic fields. For a magnetic field of 3 T applied at the depth region of 5-10 cm and field size of 10${\times}$10 $\textrm{cm}^2$, the DI is 1.56 (56% improvement) and DR is 0.68 (32% reduction). We explained the results from the Lorentz law and the concept of electron equilibrium. We suggested that the dose optimization in radiotherapy can be achieved from using the characteristics of dose distributions under magnetic fields.
This paper presents real time implementation of 4kbps EHSX (Enhanced Harmonic Stochastic Excitation) speech coder that combines the harmonic vector excitation coding with time-separated transition coding. The harmonic vector excitation coding uses the harmonic excitation coding for voiced frames and used the vector excitation coding with the structure of analysis-by-synthesis for unvoiced frames, respectively. For transition frames mixed with voiced and unvoiced signal, we use the time-separated transition coding. In this paper. we present the optimization methods of implementation speech coder on the EMS320C6701/sup (R)/ DSP. To reduce the complex for real-time implementation. we perform the optimization method in algorithm by replacing the complex sinusoidal synthesis method with IFFT. and we apply fully pipelines hand assembly coding after converting it from floating source to fixed source. To generate a more efficient code. we also make use or the available EMS320C6701/sup (R)/ resources such as Fastest67x library and memory organization.

We report 1.6 Tb/s (160${\times}$10 Gb/s) WDM transmission over 2,000 km of single mode fiber using distributed hybrid(distributed Raman amplifier+Erbium-doped fiber amplifier) optical amplifiers. After transmission over 2,000 km of single mode fiber, average optical signal to noise ratios of C/L-band were 20.5 dB, 21.9 dB, respectively. The minimum Q-factors of each band were 14.65 dB (BER=5.8e-8) in C-band, 13.75 dB (BER=5.0e-7) in L-band without forward error correction. We performed 1.6 Tb/s error-free transmission over 2,000 km of single mode fiber using Reed-Solomon (255, 239) forward error correction code.
Purpose: Phytosanitary irradiation treatment can effectively control regulated pests while maintaining produce quality. The objective of this study was to establish the best irradiation treatment for mangosteen, a popular tropical fruit, using a Monte Carlo simulation. Methods: Magnetic resonance image (MRI) data were used to generate a 3-D geometry to simulate dose distributions in a mangosteen using a radiation transport code (MCNP5). Microsoft Excel with visual basic application (VBA) was used to divide the image data into seed, flesh, and rind. Radiation energies used for the simulation were 10 MeV (high-energy) and 1.35 MeV (low-energy) for the electron beam, 5 MeV for X-rays, and 1.25 MeV for gamma rays from Co-60. Results: At 5 MeV X-rays and 1.25 MeV gamma rays, all areas (seeds, flesh, and rind) were irradiated ranging from 0.3 ~ 0.7 kGy. The average doses decreased as the number of fruit increased. For a 10 MeV electron beam, the dose distribution was biased: the dose for the rind where the electrons entered was $0.45{\pm}0.03$ kGy and the other side was $0.24 {\pm}0.10$ kGy. Use of an electron kinetic energy absorber improved the dose distribution in mangosteens. For the 1.35 MeV electron beam, the dose was shown only in the rind on the irradiated side; no significant dose was found in the flesh or seeds. One rotation of the fruit while in front of the beam improved the dose distribution around the entire rind. Conclusion: These results are invaluable for determining the ideal irradiation conditions for phytosanitary irradiation treatment of tropical fruit.
Noise-barriers on both sides of the roadway (hereafter referred to as double noise-barriers), are a common feature along roads in Korea, and these are expected to have important effects on the near-road air pollution dispersion of vehicle emissions. This study evaluated the double noise-barrier impact on near-road air pollution dispersion, using a FLUENT computational fluid dynamics (CFD) model. The realizable k-${\varepsilon}$ model in FLUENT CFD code was used to simulate vehicle air pollutant dispersion, in around 11 cases of double noise-barriers. The simulated concentration profiles and surface concentrations under no barrier cases were compared with the experimental results. The results of the simulated flows show the following three regimes in this study: isolated roughness (H/W=0.05), wake interface (H/W=0.1), and skimming flow (H/W>0.15). The results also show that the normalized average concentrations at surface (z=1 m) between the barriers increase with increasing double noise-barrier height; however, normalized average concentrations at the top position between the barriers decrease with increasing barrier height. It was found that the double noise-barrier decreases normalized average concentrations of leeward positions, ranging from 0.8 (H/W=0.1, wake interface) to 0.1 (H/W=0.5, skimming flow) times lower than that of the no barrier case, at 10 x/h downwind position; and ranging from 1.0 (H/W=0.1) to 0.4 (H/W=0.5) times lower than that of the no barrier case, at 60 x/h downwind position.
In this study, we evaluated the change of electronic structure during redox process in cerium-doped $ZrO_2$ grown by sol gel method. By sol-gel method, we could obtain cerium-doped $ZrO_2$ in high oxygen partial pressure and low temperature. After post annealing process in nitrogen ambient, the film is deoxidized. We used spectroscopic and theoretical methods to analysis change of electronic structure. X-ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS) for O K1-edge and Density Functional Theory (DFT) calculation using VASP code were performed to verify the electronic structure of the film. Also, high resolution x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (HRXPS) for Ce 3d was carried out to confirm chemical bond of cerium doped $ZrO_2$. Through the investigation of the electronic structure, we verified as followings. (1) During reduction process, binding energy of oxygen is increase. Simultaneously, oxidation state of cerium was change to 4+ to 3+. (2) Cerium 4+ and cerium 3+ states were generated at different energy level. (3) Absorption states in O K edge were mainly originated by Ce 4+ $f_0$ and Ce 3+, while occupied states in valance band were mainly originated from Ce 4+ $f_2$.

Baffles enhance heat transfer by disturbing boundary layer and bulk flow, creating impingement, and increasing heat transfer surface area. This study was performed to determine how the two inclined baffles (${\alpha}=5^{\circ}$ perforated models) placed at a rectangular channel affect heat transfer and associated friction characteristics. The parametric effects of perforated baffles (3, 6 and 12 holes) and flow Reynolds number ranging from 28,900 to 61,800 on the heated target surface are explored. Comparisons of the experimental data with the numerical results by commercial code CFX 10.0 are presented. As for the investigation of heat transfer behaviors on local Nusselt number with two baffles placed at $x/D_h=0.8$ and $x/D_h=8.0$ of the edge of baffles, it is evident that the inclined perforated baffles augment overall heat transfer significantly by both jet impingement and boundary layer separation. There exists an optimum perforation density to maximize heat transfer coefficients; i.e., the average Nusselt number increases with increasing number of holes, but the friction factor decreases with an increase in the hole number placed at baffles.
