An Open Medical Platform to Share Source Code and Various Pre-Trained Weights for Models to Use in Deep Learning Research

  • Deep learning-based applications have great potential to enhance the quality of medical services. The power of deep learning depends on open databases and innovation. Radiologists can act as important mediators between deep learning and medicine by simultaneously playing pioneering and gatekeeping roles. The application of deep learning technology in medicine is sometimes restricted by ethical or legal issues, including patient privacy and confidentiality, data ownership, and limitations in patient agreement. In this paper, we present an open platform, MI2RLNet, for sharing source code and various pre-trained weights for models to use in downstream tasks, including education, application, and transfer learning, to encourage deep learning research in radiology. In addition, we describe how to use this open platform in the GitHub environment. Our source code and models may contribute to further deep learning research in radiology, which may facilitate applications in medicine and healthcare, especially in medical imaging, in the near future.   • The Internet of Things (IoT) provides data convergence and sharing functions, and IoT technology is the most fundamental core technology in creating new services by convergence of various cutting-edge technologies. However, there are different classification systems for the Internet of Things, and when it is limited to the domestic public sector, it is difficult to properly grasp the current status of which devices are installed and operated with what share, and systematic data or research The results are very difficult to find. Therefore, in this study, the relevance of the classification system for IoT devices was analyzed according to reality based on sales, shipments, and growth rate, and based on this, the actual share of IoT devices among domestic public institutions was analyzed in detail. The derived detailed analysis results are expected to be efficiently utilized in the process of selecting IoT devices for research and analysis to advance information protection technology such as responding to malicious code attacks on IoT devices, analyzing incidents, and strengthening security vulnerabilities.

Forward/Reverse Engineering Approaches of Java Source Code using JML (JML을 이용한 Java 원시 코드의 역공학/순공학적 접근)

  • Based upon XML, a standard document format on the web, there have been many active studies on e-Commerce, wireless communication, multimedia technology and so forth. JML is an XML application suitable for understanding and reusing the source code written using JAVA for various purposes. And it is a DTD which can effectively express various information related to hierarchical class structures, class/method relationships and so on. This paper describes a tool which generates JML document by extracting a comment information from Java source code and information helpful for reusing and understanding by JML in terms of the reverse engineering and a tool which generates a skeleton code of Java application program from the document information included in the automatically or manually generated JML document in terms of the forward engineering. By using the result of this study, the information useful and necessary for understanding, analyzing or maintaining the source code can be easily acquired and the document of XML format makes it easy for developers and team members to share and to modify the information among them. And also, the Java skeleton coed generated form JML documents is a reliable robust code, which helps for developing a complete source code and reduces the cost and time of a project.

New QECCs for Multiple Flip Error Correction (다중플립 오류정정을 위한 새로운 QECCs)

  • In this paper, we propose a new five-qubit multiple bit flip code that can completely protect the target qubit from all multiple bit flip errors using only CNOT gates. The proposed multiple bit flip codes can be easily extended to multiple phase flip codes by embedding Hadamard gate pairs in the root error section as in conventional single bit flip code. The multiple bit flip code and multiple phase flip code in this paper share the state vector error information by four auxiliary qubits. These four-qubit state vectors reflect the characteristic that all the multiple flip errors with Pauli X and Z corrections commonly include a specific root error. Using this feature, this paper shows that low-cost implementation is possible despite the QECC design for multiple-flip error correction by batch processing the detection and correction of Pauli X and Z root errors with only three CNOT gates. The five-qubit multiple bit flip code and multiple phase flip code proposed in this paper have 100% error correction rate and 50% error discrimination rate. All QECCs presented in this paper were verified using QCAD simulator.

  • In this paper, we propose a network coding scheme that is one of the most promising techniques for overcoming transmission errors in underwater acoustic communications. It is assumed that the proposed scheme operates in a Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) network where multiple sensor nodes share the underwater acoustic channel in both the frequency and the time domains by means of orthogonal codes. The network topology deploys multi-hop transmission with relaying between multiple source nodes and one destination node via multiple relay nodes. The proposed scheme is evaluated in terms of the successful packet delivery ratio of end-to-end transactions under varying packet loss rates. A computer simulation shows that the successful delivery ratio is maintained at over 95% even when the packet loss rate reaches 50%.

  • This paper proposes the preservation method that can effectively process short messages at mobilePOST SMSC(Short Message Service Center) platform on CDMA(Code Division Multiple Access). There are three techniques for the preservation method. First one is shared memory technique where several processes within the system share same memory to process transmission of short messages with maximum performance. Second one is to back-up messages in shared memory to the file system to prevent lost during system initialization or other unstable period. Third technique is that when transmission of short message was completed, finished message is moved from the shared memory to relational database for accounting purposes.

Study on the Semiotic Characteristics for Korean Food (한식의 기호학적 특성에 관한 연구)

  • This study sought to identify unique semiotic codes of Korean cuisine, including table settings, service styles, service ware selection, cooking techniques, and the logic behind menu composition. This research also aimed to verify that yangnyomjang reflects the code of Korean food culture. One of key findings from this study was that hidden codes of Korean food were found in their daily set-up for bapsang (dining table), which was found to decodify polysemic characteristics with an emphasis on harmony. These semiotic codes were influenced by the yin and yang philosophy and impact dining activities in our daily lives. Korean bapsang, composed of bap (rice), guk (soup) and banchan (side dishes), helps every individual diner share the semiotic codes of Korean cuisine within the context of paradigm and syntagm. Yangnyomjang, a major component of the Korean menu, also represents a unique code of Korean cuisine in its structure, main ingredients, production, and usage. This study also mathematically verified that a synchronic table setting of Korean cuisine provides diners with more opportunities for potential flavor combinations, compared to the Western service setting.

Catering system that capable of meal material code management autom atic production of requiring quantity, purchase and shipping management menu management, account management was developed for grafting 3-Tire structure technology using database language and ADO(ActiveX Dat a Object). This system improved production in field of school lunch program and saved o(poises. finally, this system is suitable to the service environment of school lunch program and lots of utilizations would be anticipated.

  • Optical code division multiple access(OCDMA) systems make the active users to share the bandwidth by simply assigning distinct optical orthogonal codeword to each active user. An optical orthogonal code(OOC) is a collection of binary sequences with good correlation properties which are important factors of determining the capacity of OCDMA systems. Recently, 2-D OOC construction method is frequently researched which is able to support more users than 1-D OOC. In this paper, a combinatorial construction of simple multi-weight 2-D OOC with autocorrelation 0 and crosscorrelation 1 is proposed and the bound on the size of these codes is derived.

  • With the rapid development of artificial intelligence technology, the patenting activities related to the fields of AI is increasing worldwide. In particular, a share of patent filed in China has exploded in recent years and overtakes the numbers in the US. In the present study, we focus our attention on the patenting activity of China and the US. We analyzed 6,281 and 13,664 patent applications in the US and China respectively between 2008 and 2018, and belonging to the "G06F(Electric Digital Data Processing)", "G06N(Computer Systems Based on Specific Computational Models)", "H04L(Transmission of Digital Information)" and nine more relevant technological classes, as indicated by the International Patent Classification(IPC). Our analysis contributes to: first, the understanding of patent application trends from foreign countries filed in the US and China, 2) patent application status by applicants category such as companies, universities and individuals, 3) the development direction and forecasting vacant technology of AI according to main IPC code. Through the analysis of this paper, we can suggest some implications for patent research related to artificial intelligence in Korea. Plus, by analyzing the most recent patent data, we can provide important information for future artificial intelligence technology research.
