  • An adaptive beamforming system based on code filtering and differential correlation approaches is proposed. The differential correlation method was originally proposed for time delay estimation of direct sequence code division multiple access (DS-CDMA) systems under near-far ratio conditions and the code filtering correlation algorithm, on the other hand, was proposed for array response estimation in DS-CDMA systems under perfect power control. In this paper, by combining differential correlation concept with the code filtering beamforming technology, an accurate estimate of the beam forming weights and an enhanced performance of DS-CDMA systems under sever near-far ratio conditions is achieved. The system performance in terms of beam pattern and bit-error-rate (HER) shows that the proposed adaptive beamformer outperforms the conventional code filtering correlation technique.

  • This paper proposes a blind channel estimation scheme for long code direct sequence code division multiple access (DSCDMA) systems with multipath fading channels. This scheme combines the advantages of Toeplitz displacement and correlation matching methods to achieve improved performance. The basic idea is to remove the effects of noise and interferences with Toeplitz displacement operation and then estimate the multi path channel parameters with the correlation matching method. Simulation results are presented to show that the proposed scheme provides better MSE performance and robustness against the near-far problem.

  • Several critical heat flux (CHF) correlations including the look-up table in the MARS code have been assessed for the prediction of CHF in a downward-flow narrow rectangular channel. For the assessment, we built an experiment database that covers pressures between 1.01 and 39.0 bar, gap sizes between 1.09 and 6.53 mm, mass fluxes up to 25,772 kg/m2s, and under one-sided and two-sided heating conditions. The results of the assessment showed that the Kaminaga correlation has the best overall prediction compared to others. However, because the correlation uses global variables, such as inlet and outlet subcooling and total heat transfer area, it is difficult to use in a system code. A new CHF correlation is then proposed by replacing the global variables in the Kaminaga correlation with local ones and adding correction factors to consider the effect of gap size, mass flux, and the number of heating walls. Additional correction factor is added to consider the effect of inlet subcooling. It is shown that the new one is better than the Kaminaga correlation and it is easy to implement to any system code.

  • The limitation on the dynamic range improvement of the complementary correlation optical time domain reflectometer(CCOTDR) is presented. In CCOTDR, the improvement of dynamic range is function of both the averaging number of measurement cycles and the length of codes. The trade off between the averaging number and the code length restricts the improvement of the dynamic range and a very long code is not effective to improve the dynamic range. In this paper, the improvement limitation on dynamic range caused by the trade off between the averaging number and the code length is presented. For derivation of the trade off, the number of one measurement cycles employing a conventional single pulse method and employing a complementary code method are presented and compared. And the effective maximum code length is presented in addition.

  • A navigation signal based on orthogonal tiered polyphase code was proposed. For the proposed signal, tiered polyphase code was used as the code of a pilot channel. Tiered polyphase code is a complex number type code, and thus the pilot channel and data channel were separated using the Walsh code which makes the correlation between different codes become 0. The results of the simulation indicated that the correlation characteristics and signal acquisition performance of the proposed signal were identical to those of tiered polyphase code, and that the disadvantage of tiered polyphase code could be supplemented through a data channel in terms of signal tracking.

  • Zero Cross-correlation Zone (ZCZ) code has a good performance in Multi-user CDMA system to get low correlation zone and reject co-channel interference. In this paper, we do analysis of spreading code design to obtain this kind of property of correlations with a complex spreading scheme and denote their effective performance for mobile communication system. In addition, a Jacket polyphase sequence is an example to show the improved performance and regular properties effective performance for mobile communication system. In addition, a Jacket polyphase sequence is as an example to show the improved performance and regular properties.

  • In recent years, a satellite navigation signal authentication technique has been introduced to determine the spoofing of commercial C/A code using the cross-correlation mode of GPS P(Y) code received at two receivers. This paper discusses the technical considerations in the implementation and application of authentication system simulator hardware to achieve the above technique. The configuration of the simulator consists of authentication system and user receiver. The synchronization of GPS signals received at two devices, data transmission and reception, and codeless correlation of P(Y) code were implemented. The simulation test result verified that spoofing detection using P(Y) codeless correlation could be achieved.

  • In this paper we discuss the generating algorithm of Kumar code sequences which are based on generalized bent sequences for FH-CDMA. The code sequence generator was constructed for the shift register stages n=4 over GF (5). Finally we analyze the characteristics fo Hamming correlation between two code sequences and the time-frequency correlatins of the complete waveform with the sinusoidal chips as the elemental waveforms.

  • In this paper, there was compared to the performance of the Auto Correlation Feature of each code using Spreading code for improving the data transmission technology in T-DMB disaster broadcasting. Generally, wireless mobile communication environment such as DMB occur the Inter Code Interference and the Multi-Path Interference in the process of the identification of the transmitter from the receiver. To solve this problem, spreading code technology was able to improve the security property. Also, it will be able to use in many fields of signal processing, because to control a period of the code can be variable. Therefore, in this paper, we studied to compare the performance of excellent orthogonal Golay code, Kasami code and ZCD(Zero Correlation Duration) code.

  • This paper proposes a novel code tracking scheme to track the fine code synchronization for BOC(pn,n) modulated spreading signals. The correlation function of BOC(pn,n) modulated spreading signals has been several peaks. In this paper, we observe that the correlation function in the advanced offset region remains almost unchanged, due to the multipath signals being received later than a line-of-sight signal. Based on this observation, we propose a novel code tracking scheme which is called the advanced region correlation (ARC) method for BOC(n,n) modulated spreading signals. And, we compare with the code tracking accuracy between the conventional and proposed methods in the static multipath and land mobile satellite system channels through the Monte-Carlo simulation. Then, base on the proposed scheme, we propose the generalized-ARC (ARC) scheme for BOC(pn, n) modulated spreading signals.
