The Conceptual Model for a Co-creation Platform (공동가치창출을 위한 플랫폼 개념모델)

  • As a new management paradigm, co-creation for creating new value through collaboration with stakeholders, including customers, distributers, suppliers, and partner organizations has been issued in the private and public organizations. To collectively create new value, effective communication tools among the interest groups should be provided. In fact, most of organizations have utilized information technology such as home pages and SNS for distributing information and respecting customer opinions. However, they are seriously experiencing in difficulty of systematic management and overlapped investment on information technology for co-creation. Thus, this study proposes the conceptual model for co-creation platform through case studies and it is verified by scenario analysis and experts. The study contributes to accumulate knowledge in the area of co-creation platform. It also defines the requirements and the functions for the design of co-creation platform for practitioners.

  • Donation-based crowdfunding(DBC) is conducted from voluntary participation by project operators. It requires a different operational strategy than general crowdfunding. However, there is a limited amount of research on the operational strategy of DBC. This study explores the value co-creation(VCC) strategy of DBC and analyzes the operation of DonorsChoose.org. The research questions encompass the following: First, we identify the VCC activities of DBC. Second, we uncover activities of the platform operators that facilitate the participation of project operators in VCC activities. Third, we explore how VCC activities affect project operational performance and platform performance in DBC. By adopting a single case study method on DonorsChoose.org, this study provides meaningful insight and detailed understanding into the VCC in DBC. First, VCC processes of DBC are identified(Co-ideation, Co-design, Co-funding, Co-operation, and Co-evaluation). Also, interactions between platform operators and project operators were defined at each stage. Second, this study confirmed that standardization and simplification of platform operators, support for pre- and post-activity, and high-quality information delivery activities were critical. Third, we confirm that these VCC activities improve VCC operational performance and platform performance. The theoretical significance of this study is that the concept of VCC, previously concentrated on participants with economic drivers(consumers and investors), has been applied to the context of DBC, a form of participation by participants with non-economic drivers(supporters and donors). In addition, this study practically contributes to the practice of VCC strategy among various platform operating strategies in DBC.

A Study on the Implementation of High-Speed Hybrid MAC for Smart Grid Application (스마트 그리드 응용에 적합한 고속Hybrid MAC 구현에 관한 연구)

  • In this paper, high-speed Hybrid MAC (Medium Access Control layer) implementation suitable for smart grid applications is researched. MB-OFDM (Multi-Band Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) is considered for high-speed communication method in smart grid application. In this paper, the MAC adopts the distributed network managing method. Also, the MB-OFDM merit of high-speed transfer rate of up to 480Mbps must be supported. Hence, this paper presents an efficient hardware-software integration (co-design) method in order to realize a high- speed transmission, and a realizing method of distribution network. Finally, MAC performance and reliability based on MB-OFDM PHY (PHYsical layer) are confirmed through simulation and emulation.

  • Recently, safety accident by misstep at the gap between the platform and railway vehicle have frequently occurred to the mobility handicapped including disabled person, children etc. in metropolitan subway region. Particularly, because the curved platform's gap from platform to railway vehicle is max. 260mm it is important to securement of the passenger's safe mobility right. So it is necessary to platform safety step equipment for needs technology to interface gap between the platform and railway vehicle. In this study we examined the function & production requirements of platform safety step and performed the conceptual design considering the crash safety and maintenance easiness. Moreover, considering various performance requirements we suggested step's operation procedure & control flowchart.

  • This paper presents a solid modeling system that enables real time co-operative modeling and discussion on m between geographically separated designers. The modeling system is implemented using CORBA architecture and integrated in WWW with Java technology. The server objects use a commercial solid modeling kernel to provide modeling features and access database including product model data. The client is implemented using Java2 platform so that enables end-users access the system with web-browsers.

  • Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) is diversely utilized in our lives such as daily hobbies, specialized video image taking and disaster prevention activities. New ways of UAV application have been explored recently such as UAV-based delivery. However, most UAV systems are being utilized in a passive form such as real-time video image monitoring, filmed image ground analysis and storage. For more proactive UAV utilization, there should be higher-performance UAV and large-capacity memory than those presently utilized. Against this backdrop, this study described the general matters on proactive software platform and high-performance UAV hardware for real-time target tracking; implemented research on its design and implementation, and described its implementation method. Moreover, in its established platform, this study measured and analyzed the core-specific CPU consumption.

  • While the conventional vehicle's Head-Units played relatively simple roles (e.g., control of heating ventilation and air conditioning, the radio reception), they have been evolving into vehicle-driver interface with the advent of the concept of Connected Car on top of a rapid development of ICT technology. The Head-Unit is now successfully extended as an IVI (In Vehicle Infotainment) that can operate various functions on multimedia, navigation, information with regards to vehicle's parts (e.g. air pressure, oil gauge, etc.). In this paper, we propose a platform architecture for IVI devices required to achieve the goal as a connected car. Connected car platform (CoCaP) consists of vehicle selective gateway (VSG) for receiving and controlling data from major components of a vehicle, application framework including native and web APIs required to request VSG functionality from outside, and service framework for driver assistance. CoCaP is implemented using Tizen IVI and Android on hardware platforms manufactured for IVI such as Nexcom's VTC1010 and Freescale's i.MX6q/dl, respectively. For more practical verification, CoCaP platform was applied to an real-world finished vehicle. And it was confirmed the vehicle's main components could be controlled using various devices. In addition, by deriving several services for driver assistance and developing them based on CoCaP, this platform is expected to be available in various ways in connected car and ITS environments.

  • We have developed an information management tool for the EDISON (EDucation-research Integration through Simulation On the Net) open platform. EDISON is, at present, a web-based simulation service for education and research in five computational areas, namely, nanophysics, fluid dynamics, chemistry, structural dynamics, and computer aided optimal design. The EDISON open platform consists of three tiers: EDISON application framework, EDISON middleware, and EDISON infra-resources. The platform provides web portals for education and research in areas such as computational fluid dynamics, computational chemistry, computational nanophysics, computational structural dynamics, and computer aided optimal design along with user service. The main purpose of this research is to test the behavior of the release version of the EDISON Open-Platform under normal operating conditions. This management tool has been implemented using the RESTful API designed in EDISON middleware. The intention is to check co-operation between the middleware and the infrastructure. Suggested tools include User management, Simulation and Job management, and Simulation software (i.e., solver) testing. Finally, it is considered meaningful to develop a management tool that is not supported in other web-based online simulation services.

  • A Programmable Automation Controller (PAC) has been developed by Turbotek Co., Ltd. The developed system has multi-domain functionality-including sequence control, motion control and HMI- on a single platform. The PAC also has a common development platform for the design and integration of multi-domain automated systems. Since hardware of the developed system has modular architectures, performance and specification of the controller are determined by combination of specific modules. The developed system employs de facto standards such as OPC interface that allow users to easily exchange data as part of networked multi-vendor systems.

Design of gCRM system integrated with LBS

  • The success of gCRM depends on the availability of adequate, real-time data about customers' location and the provision of diverse value-added services utilizing it. In the existing gCRM systems, however, it seems that the positional precision of customers' location is very low, and further that the services based on real-time location data are not provided. In order to overcome these weaknesses and extend the limited scope of gCRM, we suggest a new design of gCRM system integrated with LBS. We also describe in some detail the system prototype for such an integration.
