Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the relationship between the satisfaction with clinical practice and clinical performance ability by types of self-directed learning ability of nursing students. Methods: This was a triangular study that was conducted to understand clinical performance ability. The subjects were 260 junior and senior students from a university in P city. The data were collected from April 22 to December 30, 2015. Data were collected by Q-card, Q-block an assessment tool, a structured self-reporting survey and a questionnaire. Results: We classified the self-directed learning abilities into four types: Type 1: a self-reflective person; Type 2: a person who prepares for the future; Type 3: a person with a sense of responsibility and obligation; and Type 4: an enthusiastic learner. We found that clinical performance ability was higher for Type 4 than Type 3. We found that clinical performance satisfaction with clinical practice was also higher for the Type 4 individual than a Type 3 person. Conclusion: To improve students' clinical performance ability, we need plans and support to lead students toward becoming an 'enthusiastic learner' type of person with self-directed learning ability. It is necessary to increase students' satisfaction with clinical practice.
본 연구는 간호대학생에게 시뮬레이션 교육을 시행 후 임상에서의 현장실습 능력에 미치는 요인을 확인하고자 시행하였다. 연구대상 및 자료수집은 2022년 9월 1일부터 10월 30일까지 간호학과 4학년 106명을 대상으로 시행하였고, 연구 설계는 서술적 상관관계 연구이다. 연구 도구는 비판적 사고, 자기효능감, 실무능력, 임상실습 만족도이었고 통계 분석은 SPSS 27.0 버전을 사용하였다. 연구 결과, 실무능력은 임상실습 만족도와 유의한 상관관계가 있었고 실무능력은 비판적 사고와 자기효능감과 양의 상관관계를 나타냈다. 실무능력에의 영향요인은 임상실습 만족도(β=.85, p<.001)와 자기효능감이었고(β=.25, p<.05) 설명력은 57.0%(F=13.25, p<.001)이었다.
Purpose: This study was done to apply a PBL module for students' practice in maternity nursing. Method: Two PBL module scenarios were made for clinical cases in antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum nursing care. A total of 70 senior nursing students of S university were enrolled in this module for their scheduled 3 weeks of practice. A structured questionnaire and subjective statements were collected for evaluation. Result: The students' perceptions of PBL were found to be effective in encouraging motivation and interest in studying, absorbing practical knowledge better, and learning through interaction with tutors. They became more confident, active, and positive throughout the PBL experiences while a lack of time for learning was a limitation. Conclusion: PBL is considered a method that can strengthen nursing students' abilities to adjust to clinical situations in maternity areas. It is recommended to expand PBL in nursing practice courses and develop various scenarios and qualified tutors.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between the awareness of sexual harassment and the coping behavior of recipients of sexual harassment. This study also assesses the factors that influence the coping behavior of nursing students during clinical practice. Methods: For this descriptive study, data were collected from November 15 to December 15, 2017. Participants included 221 nursing students recruited from nursing colleges located in three different areas. Results: 22% of the participants answered that they had experienced sexual harassment. Regarding the type of attacker, the majority of attacker was patient (83.7%). The sexual harassment awareness level was $4.22{\pm}0.40$, the degree of coping for those who experienced sexual harassment was $2.99{\pm}0.38$. Among the coping behaviors, mitigation ($3.48{\pm}0.39$) was the highest. The factors influencing the coping behavior of recipients of sexual harassment were sexual harassment awareness (${\beta}=0.24$, p=.016) and satisfaction with preventive education (${\beta}=0.45$, p<.001). Conclusion: In order to make a safe clinical practice environment, it is necessary to develop a practical sexual harassment prevention program, as well as a reporting and support system for the nursing students. Such a program will help students clearly recognize the sexual harassment situation and increase their abilities to cope with sexual harassment appropriately.
Purpose : Along with the rapid development of digital technology, the application of digital healthcare in the medical field is also increasing. According to many experts, increasing the amount of exercise and physical activity is a helpful way to prevent and manage physical problems in modern society. However, a lack of exercise, which is of the lifestyle of modern people, leads to the development of various diseases. This study aimed to examine the effects of digital exercise intervention using artificial intelligence (AI) on the physical abilities of adults whether digital exercise intervention can be a reliable and effective therapeutic option for musculoskeletal disorders in real-world clinical settings. Methods : In this study, exercise was conducted using a digital application to investigate the effects of an AI-based digital exercise intervention on the physical abilities of adults. A total of 13 adults were evaluated, and their physical abilities before and after the exercise intervention were compared. Hand-grip strength, functional leg muscle strength, dynamic balance, and quadriceps muscle strength were assessed. Exercise was performed using a digital application and in a non-face-to-face manner. AI identified the exercise status of each participant and adjusted the exercise difficulty level accordingly. The exercised daily for 4 weeks. Results : A total of 12 participants were analyzed for the final results. Significant improvements were observed in hand-grip strength, functional leg muscle strength (evaluated using the stand-up test), dynamic balance, and straight-gait ability (p<.05), indicating an increase in the overall muscular strength and physical function of the participants. Conclusions : Digital exercise intervention using AI is effective in improving physical abilities related to musculoskeletal function. It can be useful in clinical practice as an effective treatment option for patients with musculoskeletal disorders or muscle weakness.
본 연구는 치위생학을 전공하는 대학생의 의사소통능력과 공감능력이 대인관계능력에 미치는 영향을 파악하기 위해 수행되었다. 연구 대상은 편의 추출된 충청북도 소재 3개 대학교, 대전광역시 1개 대학교, 경상남도 1개 대학교로 578명의 치위생(학)과 재학생을 대상으로 하였으며, 자료는 구조화된 설문지를 이용하여 2013년 4월 1일부터 5월 7일까지 수집하였다. 주요 결과는 다음과 같다. 1. 연구대상자의 대인관계능력 평균은 $3.23{\pm}0.49$점, 의사소통능력의 총점은 $85.80{\pm}10.12$점, 공감능력의 총점은 $83.27{\pm}8.37$점이었다. 2. 일반적 특성에 따른 의사소통능력, 공감능력 및 대인관계능력은 연령(p<0.001), 학년(p<0.001), 임상실습경험(p<0.001), 전공만족도(p=0.016, p=0.018, p=0.047)에서 통계적으로 유의하게 나타났다. 3. 의사소통능력, 공감능력 및 대인관계능력 간의 관계를 알아보기 위해 분석한 결과, 대인관계능력은 의사소통능력, 공감능력 및 각각의 하위 항목들과 유의한 양의 상관관계를 강하게 보였다(p<0.01). 4. 대인관계능력에 영향을 미치는 관련 변수들을 파악하기 위해 분석한 결과, 연령(p=0.037), 임상실습경험(p<0.001), 의사소통능력(p<0.001), 공감능력(p<0.001)이 대인관계능력에 영향을 미치는 요인으로 나타났고, 이들 변수의 설명력은 57.2%였다. 이상의 결과로 보아 의사소통능력과 공감능력은 대인관계능력에 영향을 미치는 것으로, 성인기로의 발달 과정을 거치고 있는 미래의 보건의료인력인 치위생 전공 대학생의 원만한 대학생활과 성공적인 대인관계 형성을 위해 이들 변수를 고려한 교과과정 개발 및 체계적인 교육프로그램 개발이 필요하다고 생각된다.
본 연구는 간호대학생을 대상으로 시뮬레이션 기반 실습교육을 적용한 후 간호수행능력과 실습만족도의 효과를 확인한 연구이다. 연구대상은 일 대학교 간호학과 4학년 189명이며 시뮬레이션 기반 실습은 2015년 8월 28일~11월 27일까지 진행되었다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS 21.0 프로그램을 사용하여 분석하였다. 연구결과 시뮬레이션 기반 실습 후 간호대학생들의 간호수행능력이 실습 전보다 실습 후에 유의하게 향상되었고(t=-14.42, p<.001), 실습만족도는 5점 만점에 평균 4.53점(${\pm}.58$)으로 나타났다. 따라서 시뮬레이션 기반 실습교육이 간호대학생의 간호수행능력과 실습만족도를 높이는데 효과적임을 확인하였으므로 추후 교육과정에서 체계화된 시뮬레이션 실습교육과 운영 전략을 수립하는데 기여할 수 있을 것으로 사료된다.
최근 교육형태가 융합인재 양성을 목적으로 융합교육을 선호해 다양한 연구가 시도 중이다. 본 연구는 교과 외 과정 중 보건계열 전체 학생들이 일반적으로 숙지하고 있어야 할 임상술기를 선별하여 프로그램 개발 적용 후, 향후 전체 보건계열 학생에게 적용 가능한지 그 결과를 확인하고자 시도되었다. 분석결과 본 개요 프로그램은 임상수행능력, 임상수행 지식, 전문직 이미지에 도움을 주는 것으로 분석되었다. 본 연구는 대상자의 사전 사후연구이며, 이러한 융합 교육과정 환경을 변화시킨다면 의료진 및 환자 간의 대한 공감능력과 의사소통에 대한 문제를 해결할 것으로 사료된다.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to develop a Problem-Based Learning (PBL) package, test its application and evaluate students' recognition of the effectiveness of PBL in nursing colleges. Method: Thirteen steps were used in the process developing the PBL package. After its application, the first questionnaire for self-evaluation and satisfaction with PBL class was given to 94 nursing students in December, 2005. To further evaluate the students' recognition of the effectiveness of PBL, a second questionnaire was given to 83 nursing students out of the 96 in May, 2007 after clinical practice. Data analysis was conducted using means with standard deviation. Results: The results of students' self-evaluation showed high achievement in learning outcome and process using the PBL method. Also, they expressed satisfaction with the subject management, the lecturer and their peers after the PBL class. Students recognized that the PBL class had positive effectiveness in clinical practice and wanted more PBL classes and the inclusion of complex cases from well designed packages. Conclusion: PBL class could be considered as an opportunity to fortify student nurses' abilities to adjust to the real clinical situation.
PURPOSE: Improving elderly people's balance ability through pilates which may be easily applied in ordinary life is considered an important intervention method for elderly people. Therefore, this study examines the effects of pilates training on elderly people's static and dynamic balance abilities and provides clinical data to improve this ability. METHODS: The pilates program was applied to 19 elderly subjects three times per week for 8 weeks. Their training level took into consideration their age and was set so that the rating scales of perceived exertion became 13 to 14. Prior to the initiation of the experiment, the subjects had an adaptation period in order to practice the order and motions of pilates. After the adaptation period, the subjects received training. The program was conducted three times per week, for eight weeks. Their dynamic balance ability was observed through the timed up and go (TUG) test and tandem walk test (TWT), and their static balance ability was evaluated by the center of pressure (COP) area, medial-lateral displacement, and anterior-posterior displacement. RESULTS: The results of the TUG test and TWT and evaluations of the COP area and medial-lateral displacement were significantly different after the pilates exercise program compared to those before the program began. CONCLUSION: The results show that an 8-week pilates exercise program is an effective method to increase elderly people's static and dynamic balance abilities. In addition, the application result of the pilates exercise program will provide useful information for future research on elderly people's balance ability.
