  • Many researches are going on with regard to issues and problems related to mobile database systems, which are caused by the weak connectivity of wireless networks, the mobility and the Portability of mobile clients. Mobile computing satisfies user's demands for convenience and Performance to use information at any time and in any Place, but it has many Problems to be solved in the aspect of data management. The purpose of our study is to design Mobile Query Processing System(MQPS) to solve problems related to database hoarding, the maintenance of shared data consistency and the optimization of logging, which are caused by the weak connectivity and disconnection of wireless networks inherent in mobile database systems under mobile client-server environments. In addition, we proved the superiority of the proposed MQPS by comparing its performance to the C-I-S(Client-Intercept- Server) model.

Efficiency Low-Power Signal Processing for Multi-Channel LiDAR Sensor-Based Vehicle Detection Platform (멀티채널 LiDAR 센서 기반 차량 검출 플랫폼을 위한 효율적인 저전력 신호처리 기법)

  • The LiDAR sensor is attracting attention as a key sensor for autonomous driving vehicle. LiDAR sensor provides measured three-dimensional lengths within range using LASER. However, as much data is provided to the external system, it is difficult to process such data in an external system or processor of the vehicle. To resolve these issues, we develop integrated processing system for LiDAR sensor. The system is configured that client receives data from LiDAR sensor and processes data, server gathers data from clients and transmits integrated data in real-time. The test was carried out to ensure real-time processing of the system by changing the data acquisition, processing method and process driving method of process. As a result of the experiment, when receiving data from four LiDAR sensors, client and server process was operated using background or multi-core processing, the system response time of each client was about 13.2 ms and the server was about 12.6 ms.

  • Substation Automation System is basically operating throughout communicative services among IEC 61850 based devices. So, minimum requirement in order to install the system in the substation is to verify server and client conformance of IEDs and HMIs according to the IEC 61850 standard. Even though UCA IUG issued IEC 61850 conformance test procedures for both the server and the client, Much of the test is limited to IEDs as server and there is no client-only testing tool except KEMA server test tool sets. this study aims to develop IEC 61850 client testing system for verifying the full communication conformance of the substation automation system and this paper describes the design and implementation of the testing system.

Web-Based Simulation under Distributed Environment (분산 환경하에서의 웹기반 시뮬레이션에 관한 연구)

  • This paper introduces the concept of web-based simulation and suggests the structure of web-based simulation which reduces the simulation run time and performs simulations in efficient way under distributed environments. Since its introducing in 1996, web-based simulation has been studied only with a tool of applet, but in this paper a method of server applications for client applets will be used. In server application, server transfers objects requested by clients such as simulation engines, reports, files. After each client connects to web-server, and then server allocates simulation modules to connected clients. These work magnify the transferring applets from server and simulation models which were made by clients. This paper also processes a structure for managing efficiently web-based simulation under distributed environment and steps in which clients connect, model, simulate with distributed structure, and programs of proposed structure.

  • In this paper, object replication Client/server under distributed computing system is design and implementation. Today many end-users have a computer communication by using internet in the distributed system of client/server. If many users request services to a specific remote server, the server should have got a overhead for hat service processing, delayed the speed for replay, and bring a bottleneck in communication network. Therefore object replication method was proposed to solve this problems. The growth of internet works and distributed applications has increased the need for large scale replicated systems. However, existing replication protocols do not address scale and autonomy issues adequately. Further, current application protocol require consistency of different levels, and therefore should be the selection function of consistency in them, in order to have particular semantics of each level. In this paper, server overhead and bottleneck happening in remote procedure call be using server object replication. Therefore access transparency can be improved by sharing object duplicately. So it will Keep up with the consistency within the replicated objects.

  • OPC has made it to improve the development of control and monitoring software. But it is difficult to understand COM/DCOM model that is a base technology of OPC and complex communication setting between OPC Server and OPC Client. Therefore, in this paper, we design and implement ActiveX based components that are enable to solve these problems. Implemented components provide a method for simple communication between OPC Sewer and OPC Client and a GUI environment for easy and fast setting of communication information. Also, they provide the architecture fur efficient management of OPC Server's data. By using implemented component, easy development and efficient maintenance of OPC Client can be supported.

  • Many massively multiplayer online games(MMOG) use client-server architectures that have enormous server-side bandwidth requirements. In this paper, we propose a region-based hybrid game architecture that combines the advantages of client-server and peer-to-peer architectures, so that only critical events changing game state are processed by the server. In this hybrid architecture, the central server divides the game into regions and assigns a player as a regional server to distribute important updates for that region. Thus, the central server sends state updates to the players through the regional servers. All players in the same region directly exchange updates without affecting game state. This division of labor greatly reduces server bandwidth significantly and enables it to serve larger number of concurrent players. Our experiments show that the region-based hybrid architecture with three-level hierarchy scales better than the client-server architecture, saving considerable bandwidth at the central server while requiring enough bandwidth of players acting as regional servers.

  • According to the rapid evolution of internet, the number of internet users has greatly increased, so that the web servers are getting more important. If there are a great number of users trying to connect to a popular web server, the load of the web server will increase rapidly, so that failures may occur or web services may stop. An efficient load monitoring technique is required for the available web services and the performance management. The traditional techniques for load monitoring of web server using the client-server method have the problem that the server programs in client-server method must be pre-installed to all web servers. This paper implements web server load monitoring system using the mobile agent in order to overcome the problem of client-server computing. The system based on the mobile agent has no need to install the program in advance and it reduces the network traffic and the additional overheads in web servers.

  • Recently, computing technology requires intelligent system structures for context-awareness in ubiquitous computing environment. An intelligent system for context-awareness is based on agents, and need sensor information to recognize users and frames to support service. Therefore, this paper proposes the structure of 3-tier context-awareness processing server/client that can connect dynamically with each sensor and service, and support various context stably The structure of a proposal system is composed of a client class that recognizes uses' context information, a server class that processes realized context information by an application processing agent, and a management server that manages these two classes. Also, in this structure users information is composed of dynamic profile to support exquisite service.

  • Many studies and policies are suggested for customer satisfaction to survive in multimedia content service markets. there are policies like a segregating the clients using the contents service and allocating the media server's resources distinctively by clusters using the cluster analysis method of CRM. The problem of this policy is fixed allocation of media server resources. It is inefficient for costly media server resource. To resolve the problem and enhance the utilization of media server resource, the ACRFA (Adaptive Client Request Filtering Algorithm) was suggested per cluster to allocate media server resources by flexible resource allocation method.
