  • Objective : We have reported the effects of Seosiokyongsan (SSOOS) cp soap on increasing skin moisture, decreasing pore size, and reducing acne symptoms on previous studies. But in the case of SSOOS soap, many soap bases were used in the making process. So we could not determine whether the above test results were the effect of soap bases or SSOOS herb medicine. Therefore, We conducted this clinical test to find out the effect of SSOOS itself. Methods : We made two kinds of soap. One type was made of cp soap using only soap bases and gave them to 10 subjects. The other type was cp soap made by adding SSOOS to the soap base and gave them to 25 subjects. The other 10 subjects did not limit the soap. Subjects were asked to wash their face with soap in the morning and evening for six weeks. The test was conducted three times and the results were compared and analyzed. Results : In the test group using the SSOOS soap, the oil in the U zone was significantly decreased and the moisture was significantly increased compared to other two control groups. Pores size and pigmentation were decreased but not significant. There was a significant increase in moisture in the soap base group, but that was a slight increase compared to SSOOS soap. There was no significant results in the without soap control group. Conclusion : SSOOS soap was found to have a significant effect on facial skin as cleansing products.

  • Objectives : In previous studies, I presented various effects of Seosiokyongsan (SSOOS) cp soap on facial skin. However, in the case of skin clinical trials, various factors such as lifestyle, alcohol, tobacco, and stress could not be excluded. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of face wash using SSOOS cp soap on the skin without environmental factors. Methods : The same water and towel were used at the same place in order to examine the skin change state immediately before and after washing face with SSOOS cp soap. The skin test was performed before washing the face and after 10 minutes washing the face to compare the changes. As a control group, the case of washing with water without using cleanser and the case of washing with S-K cleanser, which is a popular commercial product, were set. Three cases were compared and analyzed. Results : In the case of water washing, the decrease in moisture was similar to that of the S-K cleanser and the amount of oil and pores decreased, but it was weaker than that of the S-K cleanser. The SSOOS cp soap showed a decrease in oil, pores, and pigments, but it was not significant, the moisture showed a significant decrease, but it was mild compared to S-K cleanser and water wash. Conclusion : In the case of SSOOS cp soap, the stimulation caused by facial cleansing was the least, showing a gentle change.

  • Purpose: To compare the effectiveness, tolerability, acceptability, and safety of sodium picosulphate with magnesium citrate (PS/Mg) and polyethylene glycol (PEG) in children (≤18 years) preparing for colonoscopy. Methods: Three electronic databases (MEDLINE, EMBASE, Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials) were searched till July 2020. Only randomized controlled trials (RCTs) were included. At least two authors independently selected studies and performed risk of bias assessment and data extraction. Results: Four RCTs (n=390), with overall good quality were included. A meta-analysis of two trials (n=224) found no statistically significant difference between the groups with respect to the proportion of patients who had excellent and good scores (≥6 points) according to the Boston Bowel Preparation Scale (relative risk: 0.99; 95% confidence interval [CI]: 0.90 to 1.08). Excellent and good scores were observed in both groups in approximately 90% of children. A meta-analysis of two other trials (n=150) showed no significant difference between the groups with respect to the mean total score for the Ottawa Bowel Preparation Scale (mean difference: 0.20; 95% CI: -0.74 to 1.14). Both regimens provided a comparable safety profile; however, PS/Mg was significantly superior to high volume PEG in terms of tolerability (abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, bloating/flatulence/fullness) and acceptability (ease of formulation consumption, taste acceptance, need for nasogastric tube, compliance with full dose). Conclusion: PS/Mg provides a quality and safety profile similar to PEG for bowel cleansing; however, it has better acceptance and tolerance in children preparing for colonoscopy.

  • Data processing techniques play a critical role in decision-making, including handling missing and outlier data, prediction, and recommendation models. This requires a clear explanation of the validity, reliability, and accuracy of all processes and results. In addition, it is necessary to solve data problems through explainable models using decision trees, inference, etc., and proceed with model lightweight by considering various types of learning. The multi-layer mining classification method that applies the sixth principle is a method that discovers multidimensional relationships between variables and attributes that occur frequently in transactions after data preprocessing. This explains how to discover significant relationships using mining on transactions and model the data through regression analysis. It develops scalable models and logistic regression models and proposes mining techniques to generate class labels through data cleansing, relevance analysis, data transformation, and data augmentation to make explanatory decisions.

  • Purpose: This study investigated the effects of an eye care protocol (ECP) on patients in the intensive care unit (ICU). Methods: This study utilized a randomized controlled design. Participants were patients who met the inclusion criteria and were admitted to the ICU (36 in the experimental group and 38 in the control group). The experimental group received an ECP, while the control group received standard eye care, starting the day after admission, for a duration of 10 days. The ECP classifies the degree of eyelid obstruction into three stages based on the degree of exposure to the lower eyelid conjunctiva and cornea. The protocol included cleansing with normal saline gauze, administering eye drops, applying silicone and polyurethane films, and recommending consultation with an ophthalmologist if necessary. The effectiveness of ECP was assessed by analyzing tear volume, hyperemia, chemosis, and eye discharge. Data analysis was conducted using SPSS 27.0, employing the Mann-Whitney U-test and generalized estimating equations. Results: On day 5, the experimental group demonstrated a significant increase in tear volume in both eyes compared with the control group. However, no statistically significant differences were observed in the incidence of hyperemia, chemosis, and eye discharge on days 5 and 10 of the intervention. Conclusion: The application of the ECP in this study increased tear volume in ICU patients, thereby reducing discomfort caused by dry eyes. It has the potential to prevent complications such as damage to the surface of the eyeball resulting from decreased tear volume.

  • A Geographic Information System(GIS) is a system that captures, stores, analyzes, manages and presents data with reference to geographic location data. In the later 1990s and earlier 2000s it was limitedly used in government sectors such as public utility management, urban planning, landscape architecture, and environmental contamination control. However, a growing number of open-source packages running on a range of operating systems enabled many private enterprises to explore the concept of viewing GIS-based sales and customer data over their own computer monitors. K telecommunication company has dominated the Korean telecommunication market by providing diverse services, such as high-speed internet, PSTN(Public Switched Telephone Network), VOLP (Voice Over Internet Protocol), and IPTV(Internet Protocol Television). Even though the telecommunication market in Korea is huge, the competition between major services providers is growing more fierce than ever before. Service providers struggled to acquire as many new customers as possible, attempted to cross sell more products to their regular customers, and made more efforts on retaining the best customers by offering unprecedented benefits. Most service providers including K telecommunication company tried to adopt the concept of customer relationship management(CRM), and analyze customer's demographic and transactional data statistically in order to understand their customer's behavior. However, managing customer information has still remained at the basic level, and the quality and the quantity of customer data were not enough not only to understand the customers but also to design a strategy for marketing and sales. For example, the currently used 3,074 legal regional divisions, which are originally defined by the government, were too broad to calculate sub-regional customer's service subscription and cancellation ratio. Additional external data such as house size, house price, and household demographics are also needed to measure sales potential. Furthermore, making tables and reports were time consuming and they were insufficient to make a clear judgment about the market situation. In 2009, this company needed a dramatic shift in the way marketing and sales activities, and finally developed a dedicated GIS_based market analysis and sales management system. This system made huge improvement in the efficiency with which the company was able to manage and organize all customer and sales related information, and access to those information easily and visually. After the GIS information system was developed, and applied to marketing and sales activities at the corporate level, the company was reported to increase sales and market share substantially. This was due to the fact that by analyzing past market and sales initiatives, creating sales potential, and targeting key markets, the system could make suggestions and enable the company to focus its resources on the demographics most likely to respond to the promotion. This paper reviews subjective and unclear marketing and sales activities that K telecommunication company operated, and introduces the whole process of developing the GIS information system. The process consists of the following 5 modules : (1) Customer profile cleansing and standardization, (2) Internal/External DB enrichment, (3) Segmentation of 3,074 legal regions into 46,590 sub_regions called blocks, (4) GIS data mart design, and (5) GIS system construction. The objective of this case study is to emphasize the need of GIS system and how it works in the private enterprises by reviewing the development process of the K company's market analysis and sales management system. We hope that this paper suggest valuable guideline to companies that consider introducing or constructing a GIS information system.
