The mediating effect of learning flow in the relationship between blended learning achievement and learning satisfaction among dental hygiene students (치위생과 재학생의 블렌디드 러닝 수업의 학습성취도와 학습만족도간의 학습몰입 매개효과)

  • Background: To investigate the mediating effect of learning flow in the relationship between blended learning achievement and learning satisfaction in dental hygiene students, and to identify whether face-to-face studies should be substituted with non-face-to-face studies. Methods: Total 134 dental hygiene students, who underwent blended learning in the dental hygiene class during the first semester of 2021, were recruited. The research tools were blended learning achievement, learning flow, and learning satisfaction, comprising 15 questions in total. Mediation regression analysis was used to analyze the mediating effect of learning flow in the relationship between learning achievement and learning satisfaction, and that between each variable. Results: Learning flow and learning satisfaction (r=0.490, p<0.001) were positively interrelated, and the interrelation between variables was statistically significant. Class environment had the biggest effect as a subfactor of class achievement, and it appeared to have an effect on class attitude and learning motive. The effect of learning flow on learning satisfaction was statistically significant. Learning flow was partially mediated by both blended learning achievement and learning satisfaction. Learning flow was directly related to blended learning satisfaction and learning achievement. Conclusion: The results showed the possible use of blended learning in dental hygiene theory and practical subjects.

The Effect of the Project Learning Method on the Learning Flow and AI Efficacy in the Contactless Artificial Intelligence Based Liberal Arts Class

  • In this study, the educational effect were sought to be identified after developing and applying project learning for the artificial intelligence based liberal arts education for the non-computer majors. A paired-sample t-test was performed within each group to determine the extent of improvement in the learning flow and artificial intelligence efficacy in the experimental and control groups. After class, an independent sample t-test was performed to examine the statistical effects of pre-test and post-test on the learning flow and artificial intelligence efficacy in the experimental and control groups. The experimental group and control group demonstrated significant improvements in the learning flow and artificial intelligence efficacy before and after class, each respectively. There was no statistically significant difference in the learning flow between the experimental group for which the project learning method was applied and the control group for which only theory and practice were conducted in the artificial intelligence class. It was also confirmed that the experimental group for which the project learning method was applied improved the efficacy of artificial intelligence to a significant level compared to the control group which only proceeded with theory and practice.

Effects of the Health Assessment Learning Programs using On-line Platfom on Problem Solving Process, Critical Thinking Disposition, Class Participation and Class Flow of Nursing Students (온라인 플랫폼을 활용한 건강사정 학습 프로그램이 간호대학생의 문제해결과정, 비판적 사고 성향, 수업참여도 및 수업몰입도에 미치는 효과)

  • This study is a pre-experimental research that applied one-group pretest-posttest design to find out effects of the health assessment learning program using an online platform on the problem-solving process, critical thinking disposition, class participation, and class flow of nursing college students. Data before and after participation in the learning program using the online platform were collected from second-year nursing students who were 52 test subjects taking the health assessment and practice course at J University located in G-gun, C-buk-do. As a result of analyzing, it was found that the problem-solving process (t=-2.569, p=.013), critical thinking disposition (t=-5.363, p<.001), class participation (t=-4.429, p<.001), and class flow (t=-3.747, p<.001) were statistically significantly improved according to before and after participation in the program. Therefore, it is believed that a learning program using an online platform can be used to improve the problem-solving process, critical thinking disposition, class participation, and class flow of nursing college students during health assessment classes.

Differences in After School Education Satisfaction according to the Types and the Degree of Learning Flow of After School in Middle School Student (방과후학교의 유형과 학습몰입 정도에 따른 중학생의 방과후학교 교육만족도 차이)

  • The purpose of this paper was to investigate differences in middle school student's after school satisfaction according to the type and the degree of flow of after school. For the purpose of this paper, a survey was conducted including a questionnaire consisting of a general characteristic of the study object, a general characteristic of the after school class, learning-flow scale, and after school satisfaction scale. The subjects were 382 students who were selected at random from middle school students. Cronbach' ${\alpha}$ and MANOVA were employed for data analysis. The results were as follows: First, the students with special-ability aptitude class were more satisfied for after school instructors than the students with subject class. Second, the students with the degree of high learning-flow showed higher satisfaction in after school class curriculum, instructors, and educational facility than the degree of low learning-flow students. Third, among the students who were high in learning-flow, the students with special-ability aptitude class were more satisfied with after-school class curriculum and educational facility compared to the students with subject class.

  • Three methods of nozzle flow analysis, frozen-equilibrium, shifting-equilibrium and non-equilibrium approaches, were used to rocket nozzle flow, those were coupled with the methods of computational fluid dynamics code. For a design of high temperature rocket nozzle, chemical equilibrium analysis which shares the same numerical characteristics with frozen flow analysis can be an efficient design tool for predicting maximum thermodynamic performance of the nozzle. In this study, shifting-equilibrium flow analysis was carried out for the 30 $ton_f$-class KARl liquid rocket engine nozzle together with frozen flow. The performance evaluation based on the 30 $ton_f$-class KARl LRE nozzle flow analyses will provide an understanding of the thermochemical process in the nozzle and performances of nozzle.

For a design of high temperature rocket nozzle, chemical equilibrium analysis which shares the same numerical characteristics with frozen flow analysis can be an efficient design tool for predicting maximum thermodynamic performance of the nozzle. Frozen fluid analysis presents the minimum performance of the nozzle because of no consideration for the energy recovery. On the other hand, the case of chemical-equilibrium analysis is able to forecast the maximum performance of the nozzle due to consideration for the energy recovery that is produced for the fast reaction velocity compared with velocity of moving fluid. In this study, using the chemical equilibrium flow analysis code that is combined the modified frozen-equilibrium and the chemical-equilibrium. In order to understand the thermochemical characteristic components and the accompanying energy recovery, shifting-equilibrium flow analysis was carried out for the 30 $ton_f$-class KARI liquid rocket engine nozzle together with frozen flow. The performance evaluation based on the 30 $ton_f$-class KARI LRE nozzle flow analyses will provide an understanding of the thermochemical process in the nozzle and performances of nozzle.

Fabrication and Performance Demonstration of the 20kW Class Inverted-type Cross-flow Turbine Based on Computational Fluid Dynamics Analysis (전산유체역학 해석에 기반한 20kW급 도립형 횡류수차의 제작 및 성능 실증)

  • The cross-flow turbine is one of the most famous and widely used hydraulic power systems for a long time. The cross-flow turbine is especially popular in many countries and remote regions where off-grided because of its many benefits such as low cost, high efficiency at low head, simple structure, and easy maintenance. However, most modern turbines, including the cross-flow turbine, are unsuitable for the ultra-low head situation, known as less than 3m water head or zero head with over 0.5m/s flow velocity. In this study, we demonstrated a 20kW class inverted-type cross-flow turbine's performance. First, we reevaluated our previous studies and introduced how to design the inverted-type cross-flow turbine. Secondly, we fabricated the 20kW class inverted-type cross-flow turbine for the performance test. And then, we designed a testbed and installed the turbine system in the demonstration facility. In the end, we compare the demonstration with its previous CFD results. The comparing result shows that both CFD and real model fitted on guide vane angle at 10 degrees. At the demonstration, we achieved 42% turbine efficiency at runner speed 125 RPM.

Development of a Post-Processing Program for Flow Analysis Based on the Object-Oriented Programming Concept (OOP 개념에 기초한 유동해석용 후처리 프로그램 개발)

  • A post-processing program based on the OOP(Object-Oriented Programming) concept has been developed for flow visualization of the flow analysis code(PowerCFD) using unstructured cell-centered method. User-friendly GUI(GTaphic User Interface) has been built on the base of MFC(Microsoft Foundation Class). The program is organized as modules by classes including those based on VTK(Visualization ToolKit)-library, and these classes are made to function through inheritance and cooperation which is an important and valuable OOP concept. The major functions of this post-processor program are introduced and demonstrated, which include mesh plot, contour plot, vector plot, surface plots, cut plot, clip plot, xy-plot and streamline plot as well as view manipulation (translation, rotation, scaling etc).

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of teaching style of liberal arts physical education professors to class satisfaction, Class flow and physical education attitude of liberal arts students. A study was conducted on a total of 221 liberal arts students. For the collected data, a confirmatory factor analysis and reliability analysis (Cronbach' α) for the measurement tool were performed using the SPSS 26.0 and Amos 21.0 programs. And correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis were performed. The liberal arts physical education Professor's teaching stlye affects the student's class satisfaction (educational satisfaction, environmental satisfaction, psychosocial satisfaction, physical satisfaction), and students' class flow (class immersion, purpose experience, consciousness agreement, challenge, control, Integration). In addition, it has various effects on the student's attitude toward physical education(relationships, physical activity, active participation, health and physical fitness, positive emotions). Efforts to strengthen the competence of liberal arts physical education professors will be needed to revitalize the liberal arts physical education.

An effect of Content-centered Class Using Movies in Learning Practical Expressions (영화를 활용한 내용 중심 수업이 실용적 영어표현 습득에 미치는 영향)

  • This study focuses on the flow of story and content or related context when using movies as learning materials in a class. A great advantage of using movies is that they have a consistent story and detailed content development. Most teachers, however, tend to concentrate on practical expressions totally unrelated to the story or context of the movie they are using. This way might be efficient in the short run but it is certain that the expressions are unlikely to be retained in long-term memory. This study examines how a story-centered class influences learning of practical expressions and how efficient this approach to learning is. Learning and teaching with focus only on the expressions in a movie shades the meaning of the use of the movie a little. In this study the movie, Cars 2, was used in a course of general education with 150 students enrolled. Various group activities were suggested to immerse students into the story and contents of Cars 2. It was found that a story-centered class is helpful for students to acquire practical expressions and that students' satisfaction level with the class was high.
