  • The convection heat transfer on horizontal circular tube is studied as a conjugated heat transfer problem. With uniform heat generation in a cylindrical heater placed in a cross flow boundary condition, heat flow that is conducted along the wall of the heater creates a non-isothermal surface temperature and non-uniform heat flux distribution. In the present investigation, the effects of circumferential wall heat conduction on convection heat transfer are investigated for the case of forced convection around horizontal circular tube in cross flow of air and water. Non-dimensional conjugation parameter $ K^*$ which can be deduced from the governing energy differential equation should be used to express the effect of circumferential wall heat conduction. Two-dimensional temperature distribution$ T({\gamma,\theta})$ is presented. The influence of circumferential wall heat conduction is demonstrated on graph of local Nusselt number.

  • The Standard Model (SM) does not provide an information for 26% of dark matter of the universe. In the dark sector, dark matter is supposed to be linked with the hypothetical particles called dark photons that have similar role to photons in electromagnetic interaction in the SM. Besides astronomical observation, there are studies to find dark matter candidates using accelerators. In this paper, we searched for dark photons using future electron-positron colliders, including Circular Electron Positron Collider (CEPC)/CEPC, Future Circular Collider (FCC-ee)/Innovative Detector for Electron-positron Accelerator (IDEA), and International Linear Collider (ILC)/International Large Detector (ILD). Using the parameterized response of the detector simulation of Delphes, we studied the sensitivity of a double dark photon mode at each accelerator/detector. The signal mode is double dark photon decay channel, e+e- → A'A', where A' (dark photon with spin 1) decaying into a muon pair. We used MadGraph5 to generate Monte Carlo (MC) events by means of a Simplified Model. We found the dark photon mass at which the cross-sections were the highest for each accelerator to obtain the maximum number of events. In this paper we show the expected number of dark photon signal events and the detector efficiency of each accelerator. The results of this study can facilitate in the dark photon search by future electron-positron accelerators.

  • The thruster valve, which is one of the key components applied to the mono-propellant system for the satellite, has a circular plate spring structure. It can be designed as a structure that does not have positional deformation and particles by friction and repetitive motion. In this study, finite element analysis and verification were performed by setting the width of the circular plate spring as a design parameter with the material, thickness and radius of the circular plate spring as fixed variables. The linearity of the spring constant is shown by the graph that is spring force with displacement. It is confirmed that the optimization design of the circular plate spring is possible by the spring force tendency according to the total area of circular plate spring.

  • The ring routing and wavelength assignment problem arose in the planning of optical communication networks which use WDM rings. Traffic demands are given for each pair of nodes in an ring : each demand must be routed one of the two possible connections round the ring and the wavelength assignments must be made so that there are no conflicts : that is. no two connections whose routes share a link can be assigned the same wavelength along that link. The objective is to minimize the number of used wavelengths. We propose the local optimal routing for the problem and show that there always exists an optimal solution satisfying it. Furthermore we suggest a new lower bound for the problem and show that it is very efficient for the worst case example.

  • Mostof existing CAD systems do not provide the advanced function for systematic checking of design and drafting errors in mechanical drawings. We have reported a computer aided drawing check system to single plane projection drawings made by a CAD system. This paper describes a checking method of dimensioning errors in mechanical drawings. The checking items are deficiency and redundancy of dimensions, input-errors in dimension figures and symbols, etc. Checking for deficiency and redundancy of global dimensions has been performed applying Graph Theory. This system has been applied to several examples and we have confirmed the feasibility of this checking method.

  • In 1994 Adelman´s pioneer work demonstrated that deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) could be used as a medium for computation to solve mathematical problems. He described the use of DNA based computational approach to solve the Hamiltonian Path Problem (HPP). Since then a number of combinatorial problems have been analyzed by DNA computation approaches including, for example: Maximum Independent Set (MIS), Maximal Clique and Satisfaction (SAT) Problems. In the present paper we propose a method of solving another classic combinatorial optimization problem - the eraph Coloring Problem (GCP), using specifically designed circular DNA plasmids as a computation tool. The task of the analysis is to color the graph so that no two nodes ...

  • We propose an automatic vessel segmentation method of vertebral arteries in CT angiography using combined circular and cylindrical model fitting. First, to generate multi-segmented volumes, whole volume is automatically divided into four segments by anatomical properties of bone structures along z-axis of head and neck. To define an optimal volume circumscribing vertebral arteries, anterior-posterior bounding and side boundaries are defined as initial extracted vessel region. Second, the initial vessel candidates are tracked using circular model fitting. Since boundaries of the vertebral arteries are ambiguous in case the arteries pass through the transverse foramen in the cervical vertebra, the circle model is extended along z-axis to cylinder model for considering additional vessel information of neighboring slices. Finally, the boundaries of the vertebral arteries are detected using graph-cut optimization. From the experiments, the proposed method provides accurate results without bone artifacts and eroded vessels in the cervical vertebra.

  • The scattering of a electromagnetic wave by a perfectly conducting circular cylinder with a sheath immersed in a compressible plasma is treated. The total scattering cross section and the back scattering cross section are obtained for the case of the incident electromagnetic wave. Numerical results are calculated by computer and presented in graphs together with discussions.

  • The importance of NPC's role in computer games is increasing. An NPC must perform its tasks by perceiving obstacles and other characters and by moving through them. It has been proposed to plan a natural-looking path against fixed obstacles by using a generalized visibility graph. In this paper we develop the execution module for an NPC to move efficiently along the path planned on the generalized visibility graph. The planned path consists of line segments and arc segments, so we define steering behaviors such as linear behaviors, circular behaviors, and an arriving behavior for NPC's movements to be realistic and utilize them during execution. The execution module also includes the collision detection capability to be able to detect dynamic obstacles and uses a decision tree to react differently according to the detected obstacles. The execution module is tested through the simulation based on the example scenario in which an NPC interferes the other moving NPC.
