A study on the construction of nic circuit and ists application to oscilation circuit (Nic 회로의 구성 및 발진회로에의 응용에 관한 연구)

  • In this paper the method of constructing short and open stable voltage inversion negative immittance converter (VNIC) circuits is proposed according to simplified equivalent models witch consist of a parameter control circuit, and a voltage or a current control circuit. VNIC characteristics can be obtained as gate voltage of common gate connection is controlled by the output of the parameter control circuit corresponding to its input. Constructed circuits are analysed, and the experimental results are compared and cheeked with the calculated results. Errors are found less than 11%. Oscillation behavior of constructed VNIC oscillator is compared with that of negative resistance oscillator.

  • This paper introduces a thermal compensation circuit with improved compensation characteristic for amplifiers to provide stable output power regardless environmental temperature. The proposed thermal compensation circuit is composed of two branchline couplers having two diodes between them. And, the thermistor whose resistance varies significantly with temperature inversely and a operational amplifiers, so called as OP-amp, control the diodes in the compensations circuit to realize more effective thermal compendation characteristic compared with conventional circuit.

  • This paper proposes a straightforward method of analyzing the operation characteristics for the capacitor run single-phase induction motor from the traditional equivalent circuit based on the revolving field theory. The proposed method consists of five procedures as follows: mechanical loss segregation, iron loss segregation and calculation of the equivalent circuit parameters, recalculation of parameters of the main winding side, calculation of the auxiliary winding magnetizing reactance and effective turn ratio, and analyzing the operation characteristics for this motor. When the characteristics are analyzed, the segregated mechanical and iron losses are considered as a loss resistance across input terminals of the equivalent circuit for the analysis. The validity of the proposed method is verified from the comparison between the computed results and the experimental ones for the operation characteristics.

  • Using JFET and bipolar transistor, we have designed a circuit of current controlled negative resitance and analysed this circuit in the operating region. Since the positive gate voltage of N-channel JFET is applied in full operating region, the output and transfer characteristics of JFET are measured in the positive gate region. The performances of this circuit are predicted from these characteristics and experimental results of the proposed CCNR circuit are presented.

  • The electronic market thrust for many hybrid circuit manufacturers is changing because commercial market segments such as telecommunications, automotive and consumer electronics have increased the demand world wide for environmentally friendly thick film products. This, in turn, places a stronger emphasis on the material suppliers within the circuit fabrication industry to provide toxin free products with equal or higher performance than traditional technology. A new group of silver based thick film conductors, which are totally free of such toxins as cadmium, nickel and Bead have been developed to meet new environmental requirements. Traditional thick film products and newly developed toxin free compositions will be compared and data will be presented. To evaluate their performance, both groups of conductors were tested for solder acceptance, leach resistance and aged adhesion with standard lead-containing solder and higher temperature lead-free solder.

  • A new flexible electronics technology, named P-FCB (Planar Fashionable Circuit Board), is introduced. P-FCB is a circuit board technology implemented on the plain fabric patch for wearable electronics applications. In this paper, the manufacturing of P-FCB, and its electrical characteristics such as sheet resistance, maximum current density, and frequency characteristics are reported. The fabrication methods and their electrical characteristics of passive devices such as resistor, capacitor, and inductor in P-FCB are discussed. In addition, how to integrate silicon chip directly to the fabric for the flexible electronics system are described. Finally, examples of P-FCB applications will be presented.

  • A Transcutaneous Energy Transmission System (TET) has been developed for the wireless energy transmission with two magnetically coupled coils. A resonance circuit is used to raise the induced voltage and current of the secondary coil. Its resonance frequency depends on the internal resistance of circuit and the transferred energy. Because the transferred energy usually changes in wide range, the output voltage is unstable and the energy transferring efficiency decrease. A push-pull class E amplifier is usedto generate high frequency AC voltage. To maintain proper resonance frequency, the voltage output of the amplifier was continuously monitored and adjusted to the optimized resonance frequency. Because of its high frequency (370 kHz), a phase lockedloop circuit and a comparator are used to monitor the output waveform. The results of experimentaldata show that the PLL circuit can increase the transmission efficiency and stabilize the output voltage of TET.

  • This paper describes a charge sharing capacitive-sensing circuit technique that improves the quality of images captured with fingerprint sensor LSIs. When the finger is dry, the electrical resistance of a finger surface is high. It leads to poor image quality. To capture clear images even when the finger is dry, the modified capacitive detection circuit improves the image quality using an enhancement plate at the finger surface and a voltage control circuit. The test circuit is analyzed on $0.35{\mu}m$ CMOS process.

  • This paper presents the developed quench analysis code and protection circuit design for a superconducting magnet system of 28GHz electron cyclotron resonance (ECR) ion source. The superconducting magnet is composed of a hexapole magnet and four solenoid magnets located outside of the hexapole one. All magnets are wound with NbTi composite wire and impregnated by epoxy. By using the developed characteristic analysis code, the normal zone resistance, decaying current and temperature rising can be estimated during quench. Also, the stored magnetic energy is successfully consumed from the series resistor of the designed protection circuit. The analytical results are compared with the experimental results to verify the developed quench analysis code and protection circuit.

  • A bolometer sensor used in an infrared thermal imaging system has many advantages on the process because it does not need a separate cooling system and its manufacturing is easy. However the sensitivity of the bolometer is low and the fixed pattern noise(FPN) is large, because the bolometer sensor is made by micro electro mechanical systems (MEMS). These problems can be fixed-by using the high performance readout integrated circuit(ROIC) with noise reduction techniques. In this paper, we propose differential delta sampling circuit to remove the mismatch noise of ROIC itself, the FPN of the bolometer. And for reduction of FPN noise, the reference signal compensation circuit which compensate the reference signal by using on-resistance of MOS transistor was proposed.
