촉진염화물 확산계수의 시간의존성을 고려한 고성능 콘크리트의 염화물 침투 해석기법 (Analysis Technique for Chloride Penetration in High Performance Concrete Behavior Considering Time-Dependent Accelerated Chloride Diffusivity)

  • 촉진 염화물 확산계수는 최근들어 염화물 거동 평가를 위하여 많이 사용되고 있다. 촉진 염화물 확산계수는 겉보기 확산계수와 마찬가지로 재령에 따라 감소하는데, 이 연구에서는 공극률을 이용하여 촉진확산계수의 감소를 구현하였다. DUCOM 프로그램을 이용하여 15 배합에 대한 공극률을 도출하였으며, 이를 회귀분석하여 재령 270일 동안 감소하는 염화물 확산계수를 모델링하였다. 또한 자유염화물과 구속염화물간의 관계인 비선형 구속능을 고려하여, 고성능 콘크리트내의 염화물 거동을 평가하였다. 기존의 실험자료인 180일간 염화물에 침지되어 있는 시편을 이용하여, 이 연구에서 제안한 기법의 검증을 수행하였다. 제안된 기법은 다양한 물-시멘트비 및 혼화재(고로슬래그 미분말 및 플라이애쉬)를 가진 고성능 콘크리트의 염화물 거동을 적절하게 평가하였다. 또한 혼화재료를 사용한 콘크리트의 경우, 확산계수의 시간의존성이 뚜렷하므로 염화물 거동 해석시 재령에 따른 염화물 확산계수의 감소를 반드시 구현해야 함을 알 수 있었다.

  • 라텍스 개질 콘크리트(LMC)는 일반 콘크리트에 라텍스라는 폴리머 개질제를 첨가하여 일반 콘크리트의 성능을 개선시킨 콘크리트로서 내구성을 크게 증진시킬 수 있는 재료로 여겨져 왔다. 하지만 라텍스 재료 자체의 가격이 매우 높아 사용에 많은 제약이 있어왔다. 이에 본 연구에서는 기존 교면포장으로 주로 사용되어온 LMC의 배합특성을 검토하여 보다 경제적인 배합의 결정을 위하여 다양한 배합인자별 영향을 검토하고 이로부터 얻어진 배합에 대하여 내구특성 평가를 위한 염소 이온 확산계수를 산정하였다. 라텍스 첨가량의 변화에 따른 배합의 특성을 라텍스 첨가량을 시멘트 중량 대비 $5{\sim}10$%까지 감소시킨 배합의 설정이 가능하였으며, 이러한 배합에 대한 염소이온 확산계수 실험결과에서도 매우 낮은 확산계수 결과를 나타내었다.

혼화재 사용 모르터의 염분 확산에 대한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on the Diffusion of Chloride Ion in Mortar using Mineral Admixtures)

  • The steel in concrete structures under the environment of seawater easily corrode as the seawater penetrate into concrete. The purpose of this study is to analysis the properties of chloride diffusion in mortar using mineral admixtures, as a part of study to examine the chloride penetration of concrete. The results show that the chloride diffusion in mortar increased with higher water-cement ratio. In the case of mortar using mineral admixtures the scope of diffusion coefficient$(\times10^{-8}cm^2/sec)$increased SF20(0.9), SG60(3.3), FA20(3.9), and OC(6.1) in order at the same water-cement ratio 50%.

  • An electrci method for the rapid determination of chloride diffusion coefficient in concrete is proposed considering the electrical migration term in the Nernst-Plank equation. The experimental set-up for this method is basically that for PD index by Dhir, excluding some change in the experimental parameter values in consideration of reliability, simplicity and rapidity of the accelerated test method. Experimental results show that 30mm of specimen thickness, 10 volt of supplied potential, and 5M of chloride ion concentration are optimal

  • Establishment of a diagnosing technology for the deterioration of reinforced concrete structures due to salt contamination is urgent, but few analytical methods based on measured data obtained from concrete structures have been presented so far. Chloride penetration into concrete from sea water is generally understood and analysed as diffusion of chloride ion. This paper presents a new method of predicting chloride penetration into concrete based on diffusion theory. Also, it determines the duralility of Marine structure in service with the prediction of remaiing lifetime by the carvonation test.

Modelling of chloride diffusion in saturated concrete

  • The process of chloride ingress in saturated concrete was presented by a previous study that used a mathematical model for the same as that concrete. This model is to be studied chloride ion diffusion which is considered as a chemical phenomenon and is to be represented the chloride diffusion process to be a nonlinear partial differential equation (PDE). In this paper, this nonlinear PDE is solved by the Kirchhoff transformation to render into a linear PDE. This linear PDE associated with initial and boundary conditions is also solved by the Laplace transformation to obtain an analytical solution. To verify the serviceability and reliability of this proposed method, the practical application should be supplied. The input parameters were cited from the previous study. The free chloride concentration profiles obtained by the analytical solution of mathematical model for saturated concretes after 24 and 120 hrs of exposure were compared with the previous study. The predicted results obtained from proposed method have a tendency with experimental results obtained by the previous study and trend toward numerical results approximated by finite difference technique.

A study on effects of water-cement ratio and crack width on chloride ion transmission rate in concrete

  • To study the effects of water-cement ratio changes and cracks on chloride ion transmission rate in cracked concrete, RCM method was adopted to accelerate the diffusion of chloride ion in cracked concrete, and the changes in chloride ion concentration and around the cracks are inferred by finite-element method. The test results show that as far as prefabricated cracks on concrete components are concerned, the width thresholds of two cracks on the concrete specimens with a water-cement ratio of 0.5 and 0.6 are 0.05 mm and 0.1 mm respectively, the width threshold of two cracks on the concrete specimens with a water-cement ratio of 0.4 is 0.05 mm and 0.2 mm respectively; and the results of numerical simulation show that the smaller the water-cement ratio is, the more significant effects of cracks on chloride ion transmission rate are. As a result, more attention shall be paid to the crack prevention, repairing and strengthening for high-strength concrete.

  • 콘크리트용 천연골재의 공급이 어려워지고 건설폐기물은 발생량이 지속적으로 증가하고 있는 추세이다. 따라서 건설폐기물을 골재로 만든 순환골재 사용의 필요성이 대두되고 있다. 이에 순환골재를 사용한 콘크리트의 특성에 대한 많은 연구가 진행되고 있으나 대부분의 연구들이 부정적인 결과를 나타내고 있다. 하지만 최근 연구들을 중심으로 긍정적인 연구결과들이 보고되고 있으며 그 중 순환굵은골재의 부착 모르타르의 염화물고정효과에 관한 연구도 보고되고 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 순환굵은골재에 비해 모르타르 함량이 많아 염화물고정에 유리하다고 예상되는 순환잔골재를 사용한 모르타르의 역학적 특성과 염화물확산을 평가한 결과 순환잔골재의 염화물고정효과를 확인했다.

A multiscale numerical simulation approach for chloride diffusion and rebar corrosion with compensation model

  • Refined analysis depicting mass transportation and physicochemical reaction and reasonable computing load with acceptable DOFs are the two major challenges of numerical simulation for concrete durability. Mesoscopic numerical simulation for chloride diffusion considering binder, aggregate and interfacial transition zone is unable to be expended to the full structure due to huge number of DOFs. In this paper, a multiscale approach of combining both mesoscopic model including full-graded aggregate and equivalent macroscopic model was introduced. An equivalent conversion of chloride content at the Interfacial Transition Layer (ITL) connecting both models was considered. Feasibility and relative error were discussed by analytical deduction and numerical simulation. Case study clearly showed that larger analysis model in multiscale model expanded the diffusion space of chloride ion and decreased chloride content in front of rebar. Difference for single-scale simulation and multiscale approach was observed. Finally, this paper addressed some worth-noting conclusions about the chloride distribution and rebar corrosion regarding the configuration of rebar placement, rebar diameter, concrete cover and exposure period.

염화물 및 황산염 복합환경 하에서의 열화특성에 관한 실험적 연구 (Experimental Study on Deterioration Characteristics under Combined Exposure Conditions of Chlorides and Sulfates)

  • Test results on the deterioration process of concrete under single and combined attacks of chloride penetration have been obtained. After test period of 52 weeks, it is found that the internally penetrated chloride ion contents are less in the single attacks of chloride than the combined attacks of chloride and sulfate. Both the diffusion coefficients and surface chloride concentration derived form the chloride profiles showed a time dependence. Also the performance of fly ash-blended cements was observed to be better than plain cements in retarding chloride attack. However it should be needed that improved chloride diffusion model for the combined deterioration process.
