Pellinus linteus has been used for the prevention of cancer traditionally. There are three origins of Pellinus linteus, Korea, China and Cambodia. However, their immunological activities were not evlauated comparatively. Thus, this study was done to evaluate immunomodulatory effects of Phellinus linteus(PL) from Korea, china and cambodia, We confirmed PL showed two major protein bands, 50 kDa and 80 kDa by protein analysis. These PL effectively upregulated the expressions of IL-2 at 10 ug/ml and GM-CSF, IL-4, IL-10, IL-12(p35), IL-12(p40), IL-18, IFN-r in all concentrations. However, Korea-PL upregulated the expression of IL-12 more effectively than the other PLs. It intended to increase NO with no significance. Those results indicate Phellinus linteus had cytokine modulating effect

The ever-expanding Chinese economy has affected the Korean economy in many respects. So many companies, including most of major groups, has increased their economic collaborative businesses in China. Due to the sandwich situation of the economic competitiveness, many Korean companies has been seeking for the lower production costs in China, while other high-tech companies also for the prospective markets in China. Nonetheless all the Korean FDIs in China have been seriously connected with its global supply chain management. In order to promote this kind of collaboration across the border, the 4PL kind of tasks are needed. The study suggests these tasks in terms of 3 categories of Pre-Feasibility/ Business Planning, Cultural Localization, and Networking Economies/ Relationship Management. Most of all, the collaboration across the border may promote the final vision of the FTA in the Far-east Asian countries.

The paradigm of the global logistics network has been rapidly changing from traditional concept of productivity in cost terms, toward the new characteristics of innovative productivity in terms of economies of scale, economies of scope, and economies of network. As the ship or airplane becomes larger and speedier, the less logistics hub required. The more diverse logistics parties integrate each other horizontally or vertically, the higher synergy effects they get. The more systematic concurrent engineering available for global supply chain management such as Korean manufacturers in China, the higher productivity they get. The paper analyzes these three paradigms of logistics into the application for the Korean manufacturers in China and concludes that the Korean government, the companies in China should be more focused on the governance of the logistics and the intermediary such as the 4th party logistics(4PL) is definitely developed its role and functions based on three paradigms above mentioned.

Nowadays, the tendency of world air cargo is noteworthy and air traffic in terms of cargo throughput will no doubt grow significantly in the new Region, with India and China's booming economy and the upcoming Olympics 2008. For example, in the first 11 months of 2006 cargo traffic was increased by 6.3%. First of all, the market of air cargo in Korea grows very quickly and diversifies. It is an essential factor in the process of development of Northeast-Asia as a hub for Air Cargo logistics. However the process of air cargo in Korea is complex as compared with other north-east asia nations. At the same time, it has many problems and causes inconvenience to owners of freight. This paper investigated the process of air cargo in Korea now and analyzed problems of the process. We emphasize that 4PL is the excellent solution from among many alternatives. It is also worthy of notice that EPCglobal network strengthen the role of 4PL. In conclusion, the 4PL system based on EPCglobal network will result in a good success, so it will raise a prestige of air cargo in Korea to a higher position.

This paper deals with the application and effects of MES for H automobile plant in China. There existed the production planning and the different work order in PL painting plant, but we can simultaneously prepare the painting parts and parts delivery and assembly according to painting color by introducing MES. We can respond the change of production planning and operate integratively the PL painting, parts storage and parts delivery and then we can results in reasonable logistics. We obtained the exact production information, correct work order, precise delivery order. We obtained not only the improvement of logistics but also the reduction of inventory.

Purpose - Along with the rapid growth of the economics and IT industry, E-commerce appears as the next potential area of world economics. For this no-entity shops commerce style, logistics is crucial for the success of E-commerce. Research design, data and methodology - In this paper, Dangdang.com, the largest online marketplace in China, is studied and a conceptual model is present, to develop a practical way to develop the logistics system in E-commerce situation. Results - This research finds that following 4 factors are critical success factors for E-commerce logistics: 1) logistics centres are very important to control the inventory management; 2) keep good cooperation with third-party logistics (3PL) can guarantee good quality shipping service and also can reduce delivery costs; 3) build strong information system; 4) quick response system also needed for an efficient logistics system. When E-commerce firms are developing their logistics systems, they should pay more attention to these 4 critical success factors. Conclusions - In summary, successful 3PL management is vital for competing regionally and globally throughout the logistics value chain. We see information system as an enabler in logistics management to get the right products to the right place in the right quantity at the right time and to provide quality services to satisfy the customer's needs.

We have been prepared the porous silicon carbide (PSC) by electrochemical etching of silicon carbide single crystals. Samples of PSC have been studied by the methods of scanning electron microscope (SEM) and photoluminescence (PL). Two PL bands attributed to the blue and green light emission were observed in this study. According to the anodization conditions, the main source of emission in the oxidized layers of PSC lies in the different surface defect centers which consist of different geometrical structures due to the polytypes. It means that origin of these PL bands may be existed in different size pores simultaneously. The present results indicate that the high energy band comes from the top porous layers while the low energy band comes from the lower porous layers.

Logistics industry was changed after China join into the WTO. Compared with other countries, cost of logistics is very high in China. Besides, there are several problems with the demand basis, service and information technology of the third-party logistics. The forth-party logistics was appeared in logistics market in this context. The forth-party logistics was just become to develop in China so there are many problems recent years. Chinese government propose some solutions with the development of the fourth-party logistics such as the adjustment of the logistics industry policy, strengthening of the logistics information system and infrastructure, training logistics expertise. This research pointed out the obstacles in the development of the forth-party logistics in China by analyzing the present situation and the development strategy of some representative companies such as ANDE Logistics Company and Philips Logistics Company. The purpose of this paper is to research the development of the forth-party logistics in China by analyzing the problems with Chinese government and logistics companies, and finally bring up some solutions with these problems.

The external diseconomy is hampering sustainable development of the city logistics sector. Burdens on urban environment imposed by the city logistics industry have been put in the spotlight. Based on the principle of Life Cycle Analysis, the comprehensive environment impact for city logistics systems is measured. Firstly, with the city logistics service chain as a whole, its business processes and their interactions with environment are analyzed. In total four types of major environment impact categories are determined. Secondly, case study is made on three city logistics operators located in Jing-Jin-Ji region of China with different business modes, respectively self-operation mode, joint distribution mode and the $3^{rd}$ Party Logistics or 3PL mode. Through analysis of energy consumption and emissions for various business processes, their comprehensive environmental impact values are finally obtained. Thirdly, horizontally comparative analysis is carried out to these three modes of the urban logistics distribution systems. Results show the advantages of the 3PL and the joint distribution modes in developing greener urban logistics distribution. Future research avenues and policy suggestions are proposed finally.

Purpose - This study aims to disclose the problems of both the government and the logistics industry regarding fourth-party logistics, and to provide various solutions at the level of enterprises as well as the government for the introduction of fourth-party logistics in China. Research design, data, and methodology - This study aims to reveal how a shipping company recognizes the creation of partnerships with fourth-party logistics providers, and it reveals several related implications. Results - Fourth-party logistics organizations can be used to achieve maximum business performance as professional logistics companies by incorporating the benefits of outsourcing and insourcing. Outsourcing logistics services through focusing on core competencies and improving customer service can have financial effects and advantages such as the simplification of labor issues. Conclusions - This study did not investigate Korean enterprises through an empirical analysis and provided fourth-party logistics concepts and promotional plans according to domestic and foreign literature. Further studies shall investigate not only the Korean fourth-party logistics model but also the training of logistics professionals to generate profits for both shippers as well as logistics enterprises.
