어린이집 교사들의 영양지식과 영양교육에 대한 인식 조사연구 (A Survey of Teachers' Recognition on Nutrition Knowledge and Nutrition Education at Day-care Centers)

  • This study was aimed at knowing the recognition of teachers' nutrition knowledge and nutrition education at day-care centers in Seong-nam. Teachers were all female, most of whom were in the 20, and their careers were less than 3 years. And $76.2\%$ of the teachers graduated from high school and junior college. The score of the nutrition knowledge was average $14.3\pm2.2$ (out of 20). It shows that they are lack of general information of nutrition. As the teachers had higher education, they scored higher nutrition knowledge levels (p < 0.01). It also says that there was meaningful interrelationship between the nutrition knowledge and the number of children they had (p < 0.05). $93\%$ of the teachers said that nutrition education should be given when children are three years old, at least and most of the teachers thought that nutrition education is necessary and should be taught in a separate course. $50.4\%$ of the teachers thought that nutrition education for early childhood should be taught by a nutritionist, but $35.2\%$ of them thought that the teachers themselves should be in charge of it. About $60\%$ of the teachers thought that 'Cooking Activity for Early Childhood' course should be established and it is desirable that the nutrition education should be in the area of cooking activity for childhood at day-care centers. The teachers thought that dietary habit is the most important subject in nutrition education and they got more information from the internet rather than in the class related to nutrition. 학령전 아동의 간식 개발을 위한 식품섭취 실태 조사 (A Survey on Eating Behaviors of Preschool Children for Development Snack)

  • This study was conducted to investigate eating behaviors of preschool children for development their snack. Eating habit, preference and nutritional state were investigated using a questionnaire answered by teachers of day-care centers, 548 preschool children(aged 4 to 6 years old) and their mothers. It was found that 93.6% of subjects thought children need to eat snacks not only at day-care center but also at home. For children, snacks clearly played an important role in dietary nutritional intake The frequency and rate of consuming Milk as snack were high$(1.51\;times\;per\;a\;day,\;459.8{\mu}l)$, 53.2% of calcium intake from Milk. The most favorite snack foods of children were fresh fruits, milk, yoghurt, juice. The correlation between frequency of eating food as snack and children's preference for food was low; because choosing food as children's snack was not by themselves but by their mothers and teachers, and variety of food(a taste, kinds) as snack was very weak. Subjects showed rather dissatisfactory view about commercial snack, and wanted new development of nutritionally balanced and natural-tasted snack for preschool children; they preferred dducks, biscuits and snacks as the form of newly-developed snack for preschool children.

보육경험 및 보육의 질과 5세 유아의 사회.정서발달과의 관계 (Relationship between 5 Year Olds' Socioemotional Development and Daycare Experience and Daycare Quality)

  • The purpose of this study was to identify the relationships between early childhood socioemotional development and day care experience and daycare quality. The subjects were 116 children, age 5 years old, from 17 daycare centers. The teachers at the 17 daycare centers rated the quality of their facility while the mothers of the 116 children assessed their children's socioemotional development. Daycare experience was composed of: the time period, hours per day, and the child's starting age at enrollment in daycare. Daycare quality was measured by questionnaire developed by Park(1995). Children's socioemotional development was rated by K-CBCL (Oh et al. 1997). The results were as follows. First, starting daycare experience less than 2 years of age, attending more than 6 days per week, and attending more than 8 hours per day of daycare experience were negatively related with children's development. Second, quality of daycare such as child-centered curriculum, abundant interaction between teachers and parents, opportunity for continuing education of teachers, higher levels of rewards and incentives for teachers, and the provision of nutritious food were positively related to the children's development.

어린이집 소아에서의 황색포도알균의 비강 보균율에 관한 연구 (Nasal Carriage of Staphylococcus aureus from Healthy Children Attending Day Care Center)

  • 목 적 : 국내 어린이집을 다니는 소아를 대상으로 황색포도알균의 비강 내 보균율과 이런 보균율에 영향을 끼치는 요인들에 대해 알아보고자 하였다. 방 법: 2008년 9월에서 10월까지 서울 지역에 위치한 7개 어린이집의 소아 중 서면 동의를 받은 428명을 대상으로 설문지를 통해 인구학적 자료 및 의료기관 관련 위험 요인에 대한 자료를 수집하였다. 또한 어린이집의 소아들의 비강을 도찰하여 얻은 검체를 증균 및 선택배지에 접종한 후 생화학적 검사를 통해 황색포도알균을 동정 및 분리하였고 디스크 확산법을 통해 메티실린 감수성을 결정하였다. 결 과:대상 환아의 평균 연령은 55개월 이었으며 남녀비는 1.1:1.0이었고 최근 1년 이내에 입원력 및 수술력이 있는 환아는 각각 9.2%, 3.6%였고 항생제 사용력은 약 40%에서 확인되었다. 전체 428명의 소아 중 163명에서 비강 내 황색포도알균이 분리되어 황색포도알균의 비강 내 보균율은 38.1%였으며 분리된 균주의 24.5%는 메티실린 내성 균주였다. 연령이 증가함에 따라 황색포도알균의 비강 내 보균율도 증가 추세를 보였다. 비강 내 MRSA 보균이 9.3%의 소아에서 확인되었으며 이들 대부분이 의료기관 관련 위험요소가 없는 소아였다. 결 론:국내 소아의 약 38% 및 9%가 비강 내 황색포도알균 및 MRSA 보균자임을 확인하였으며, 특히 분리된 MRSA의 95%가 CA-MRSA 균주였다. 향후 비강내 황색포도알균의 보균율의 변화 및 CA-MRSA 보균율의 변화에 대해 지속적인 연구가 필요하겠다.

보건소 영양교육 프로그램이 유아의 영양지식, 식습관 및 부모의 식태도에 미치는 효과 (Effect of Nutrition Education Program Developed by a Public Health Center on Preschool Children's Nutrition Knowledge and Dietary Habits and the Parent's Dietary Attitudes)

  • This study was carried out to examine the effects of nutrition education program developed by Jincheon Public Health Center on preschool children's nutrition knowledge and dietary habits and the parents' dietary attitudes. The subjects of this study were five- and six-year-old children as well as their parents. A 5-week nutrition education program was implemented to 104 children in five day care centers, and 107 children in three day care centers were investigated as a control group. Activity tools designed for each lesson such as puzzles, food magnets, story, songs, Pierrot costume, and balls were used. Nutrition knowledge and dietary habits of children and dietary attitudes of parents were evaluated before and after education. Mean nutrition knowledge score in the education group was significantly higher than that in the control group after education (p < 0.001). Mean dietary habit score of three questions (three meals a day, eating at fixed time, eating breakfast) in the education group was also significantly higher than that in the control group after education (p < 0.01). In addition, parents in the education group showed significantly higher mean dietary attitude score than those in the control group even though they did not receive education (p < 0.001). Our nutrition education program was found to be effective in improving nutrition knowledge and dietary habits in preschool children as well as improving dietary attitudes in their parents.

보육시설 급식소의 운영현황 및 급식실태 조사 (Assessment of Foodservice management practices and Nutritional adequacy of foods served in child-care centers)

  • The purpose of this study was to evaluate the foodservice management practices in child-care centers in order to provide basic information for the development of a model of a centralized food service information center. This approach was achieved using a variety of qualitative and quantitative information including general foodservice management practices and plate waste. A self-completed questionnaire survey of 651 child-care centers in Korea was undertaken and detailed information was carefully collected at 6 representative child-care centers. The results of the empirical survey were as follows: 1. Child-care centers categorized by location were in large cities (59.9%), medium cities (27.6%) and in provincial areas (12.5). 2. Private sector of child-care centers was 46.4% of the total followed by National/public (44.2%) and licensed home day-care programs (9.4%). 3. Total average number of children in child-care centers was $63.3{\pm}43.1$ with a very significant difference (p<0.001) in types of child-care centers. 4. The average space of kitchen and dining room was $5.0{\pm}3.8\;and\;10.8{\pm}11.0$ pyung ($1pyung=3.3058\;cm^2$). 5. The average cost of interim snack in morning and afternoon in child-care centers were $345.9{\pm}459.3$ won and $359.3{\pm}226.6$ won respectively. The average cost of lunch was $644.0{\pm}481.1$ won. There was a significant difference (p<0.001) by types of child-care centers with a highest cost of 863.9 won in licensed home day-care programs. 6. Only a limited number of dietitian were employed, therefore most of food service management practice was not conducted by professional personnel. 7. The result of nutritional analysis of the food revealed that the level of energy and nutrients contained in the food was below the recommeded level (RDA/3).

유아원에 다니는 소아의 구인강 내 수막구균 보균율과 혈청군 (Carriage Rates and Serogroups of Neisseria meningitides in Children Attending Day Care Centers)

  • 목 적: 수막구균(Neisseria meningitides)은 패혈증, 수막염 등 침습성 질환의 중요한 원인의 하나이다. 최근에는 수막구균 다당질-단백 결합 백신이 개발되어 영아의 정기 접종에 포함된 국가도 있다. 우리 나라에서는 건강한 성인의 보유율에 관한 보고는 있으나 소아에서는 수막구균 보균율에 대한 체계적인 보고가 아직 없었다. 본 연구에서는 건강한 유소아를 대상으로 수막구균의 구인두 집락율과 혈청군을 알아 보고자 하였다. 방 법: 2005년 1-2월과 5월에 서울, 경기지역의 13개 어린이집과 유아원에 다니는 소아 904명을 대상으로 하였다. Calcium alginated cotton으로 구인두 점막을 세게 문질러 구인두 도말 검체를 채취한 후 즉시 수막구균 선택배지(modified New York City medium)에 접종하고 $CO_2$ 보육기에서 48시간 배양하였다. 수막구균 동정은 Vitek NHI card를 이용하였으며 중합효소 연쇄 반응을 이용하여 crgA 유전자를 검출하여 확인하였다. 확인된 수막구균은 N. meningitides antisera를 이용한 agglutination test로써 혈청형 A, B, C, D, 29E, W135, X, Y, Z에 대한 검사를 하였으며, 중합효소 연쇄 반응을 이용하여 org2, siaD 유전자의 다양성에 따라 혈청형 A, B, C, W135, Y 여부를 다시 확인하였다. 결 과: 구인두 도말을 채취한 904명의 소아 중 남아는 468명(52%) 이었고 대상 유소아의 연령 분포는 2세 미만이 59명(6.5%), 2세에서 5세 미만은 486명(53.8%), 5-6세는 338명(37.4%)이었고 7세 이상은 21명(2.3%)이었다. 수막구균은 7명의 구인두 검체에서 검출되어 수막구균 보균율은 0.8%이었다. 남아 3명에서 검출되었고 연령별로는 3세 미만에서는 검출 되지 않았고 3세, 4세, 5세 소아에서 각각 1명씩, 그리고 6세 소아 4명에서 검출되었다. 혈청형은 Y군이 3균주, C군과 A군이 각각 2균주이었다. 2군데 유아원에서 각각 2명씩 분리되었고 3군데 유아원에서 1명씩 분리 되었다. 2명이 분리된 유아원 중 한군데는 모두 혈청형 Y가 분리 되었고 다른 유아원에서는 C군과 Y군이 각각 한 명씩 분리되었다. 결 론: 유아원에 다니는 건강한 소아의 구인강내 수막구균 보유율은 매우 낮았으며, 분리된 수막구균의 혈청군은 A, C, Y군이 고루 분포하였다.

자폐장애 아동을 대상으로 한 음악치료 중재 효과 연구 (The Effects of a Music Therapy Program for Autistic Children in Child Day Care Centers)

  • Purpose: This study was aimed at evaluating the effects of Music Therapy for the autistic children. Method: The subjects of this study consisted of 3 autistic children who were trained in an Attachment Promotion Therapy Program for 6 months. The Children were all males and 4years 9months, 3years 1 month, and 3years 8month each, and diagnosed with Autism by Child and Adolescent Psychiatrists. Data was collected by using video-taping methods(ADOS, Fagot's Interactive Behavior Code), an interview and observational methods(SMS). Music Therapy intervention was done once a week for 6 months. Data was gathered by quantitative and qualitative analysis. Result: This study showed that the Autism Diagnostic Observation Scale and Social Maturity Quotient(SQ) much improved after the Music Therapy After the Music Therapy, the Interactive Behavior Code : Gaze, Gesture for the communication, Verbal language, Laughing/Smile, and Normal play behaviors increased more than before the intervention. As the results show, the child's behavior became more positively responsive, playful, and attentive to others. Conclusion: This study suggests that Music Therapy might be an effective intervention for autistic disorder children in order to decrease autistic symptoms and increase joint attention behavior.

유아교육기관 유형에 따른 교사.또래관계 및 아동 발달에 관한 연구 (A Study on Teacher and Peer Relationships and Child development in Kindergarten and Childcare Center)

  • The purpose of this study was to explore leacher and peer relationships and child development in two types of early childhood program; halfway kindergarten and full-day childcare. The subjects were 90 four and half year old children and their teachers enrolled in 10 kindergartens and 20 childcare centers in Seoul. Each teacher evaluated her children with six scales developed by NICHD Early Child Care Research Network(1996); child-leacher relationship, peer relationship, social competence, adaptive language, behavior characteristics, and behavior problems. The data were analyzed by ANOVA. The results of this study were as follows: First, the girls in both programs had closer relationship with their teachers than the boys. The boys in the daycare were less dependent than those of kinder; on the other hand, the girls in the daycare were more dependent than those of kinder. Second, there was no significant difference in peer relationship between the children in both centers. Third, the girls of both centers scored higher than the boys in social competence. Fourth, in the child's adaptive language, both boys and girls were well developed, but girls were higher than boys, especially in kinder Fifth, the children in both centers behaved attentively in the groups, but in particular, the girths were more attentive. Finally, most of children were received low scores in the behavior problem scale.

영·유아기 타인양육이 학령전 어린이의 사회정서적 행동에 미치는 영향 (Effects of early nonparental care on preschoolers' socioemotional behaviors)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of early full-time nonparental care during infancy/toddlerhood on children's socioemotional behaviors during the preschool period. Subjects for this study were 105 three- to five-year-olds from middle-class families in the U. S. A. Children were assigned to one of three groups according to their early care history. Children's social interactions with peers and caregivers during indoor free-play sessions in day care centers were observed for 20 minutes. The head teachers rated the children's social and emotional behaviors on two questionnaires. Mothers completed the Attachment Q-sort for attachment assessment for the preschoolers. In addition, mothers were asked to fill out a questionnaire on their parenting practices. Children who had received full-time nonparental care during infancy and/or toddlerhood were rated by their teachers as being more intellectually competent than children who did not receive full-time nonparental care during first three years of life. They were, however, rated by teachers and were observed by the researcher as being more aggressive than children with no full-time nonparental care. These children were observed to engage in less wandering/onlooking behaviors than children who had not had any full-time nonparental care. Children's attachment security scores and dependency scores did not differ as a function of early nonparental care histories. When the effects of early care patterns, sex of child, and current attachment security to mothers on aggressive behaviors of the preschoolers were examined by a hierarchical regression model, then any "pure" effects of nonparental care and of attachment security on child aggression were minimal after controlling for family background, child care center quality, and maternal childrearing practices. Strong buffering factors for the preschool children (family characteristics, parenting styles, and high quality nonparental care) mediated a possible risk factor of early nonparental care and promoted optimal outcomes for the children.
