The purpose of this study is to tender as the basic data for practice of environment on the consciousness and practice of life environment on technical teacher in middle school and colleage students. For this purpose, the data were collected by using questionnaire distributed to 102 technical teacher in middle school and 103 male colleage students in Jan. and Aug., 2000. The major findings of this research are as follows; 1. It was found that the teachers had consciousness in industrial environment pollution but the students has the causes of house or car. All of the subjects set to the environment information through T.V. programs and the efficacy is highest. Also the teachers set to the environment information through environmental organization and books. The teachers had concern of high level and higher than the students on the life environment. Specially the awareness of life environment was upper to the average and higher than students. 2. The assessments of the earth life environment was 69.17(M), the oceanic environment was highest and water environment was lower. The assessments of the Korea life environment was 60.67(M) were lower than the assessments of the earth life environment, all items were lower than earth lie environment. Generally leachers has positive assessments to earth and Korea life environment than male students. 3. The teachers have high practice apparence on the life environment than the students. Also the teachers had upper to the average on the practice degree, and the practice degree lower than practice awarences. But all items on practices degree was higher than student's.
This study collected data from 467 nursery teachers and it aimed to investigate the association between mental health and emotional dissonance and job burnout of the day care nursery teachers. Measurement tool was developed, most of the questions having 5-point scale. The data were analyzed structural equation model with the statistical package IBM SPSS 23 and AMOS 21 with 5% percent of significance level. Main results are as follows. First, it was found that emotional dissonance of nursery teachers working in day care centers showed significant effect on the mental health such factors as job-stress (relationships with children and parents and work overload). Second, emotional dissonance were found to have a significant effect on job burnout, too. Third, job burnout had a significant effect on the mental health, job stress and psychological wellbeing. Fourth, job burnout was found to mediate partially on mental health and emotional dissonance. These findings suggest the importance of mental health promotion programs for child care teachers working in the day care centers.
The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship among NCS basic vocational competencies, Teaching Personality Aptitude and DISC behavior type of pre-preschool teachers. The subjects were 110 pre-preschool teachers attended in D university located in Kyonggido. 'NCS basic vocational competencies scale', 'Teaching Personality and Aptitude scale', and 'DISC behavior type scale' were used in the collection of data. It used Pearson's correlation Analysis to analyze the data. The results of this study are as follows; first, there was positive correlations between dominance trait and mathematical competency. And, there was positive correlations between interaction trait and self-development competency. And there were negative correlations between support traits and NCS basic vocational competencies. Second, it was revealed that positive correlations between almost sub scale's of NCS basic vocational competencies and teacher teaching personality aptitude. Third, there was positive correlations between dominance trait and sub scale of teaching personality aptitude(e.g.: problem solving/ inquiry skills, judgment, creativity/practical ability, leadership, knowledge/information ability, planning ability, sincerity/responsibility). And there were negative correlations between support traits and sub scale of teaching personality aptitude(e.g.: problem solving/ inquiry skills, judgment, creativity/practical ability, leadership, sincerity/responsibility).
Many factors that may affect teaching aptitude of pre-service early childhood teachers have been discovered. However, little is known about the relationship between self-esteem and teaching aptitude in them. This study aimed to investigated self-esteem in relation to teaching aptitude in pre-service early childhood teachers. Pre-service early childhood teachers' self-esteem scale and teaching aptitude scale assessed the self-esteem and teaching aptitude of 344 pre-service early childhood teachers in C-city in Gangwon-do and N-city in Kyunggi-do, Korea. Results showed that all four dimensions of the self-esteem were significantly related to teaching aptitude, indicating that pre-service early childhood teachers with higher self-esteem were likely to have greater teaching aptitude. Regression analysis indicated that self-esteem in the areas of leadership and popularity, self-assertiveness, and social-relations significantly predicted teaching aptitude of pre-service early childhood teachers.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the perception and actual condition of early childhood teachers about the activities of cooperative art in early childhood education institutions. The subjects of the study were 280 teachers of early childhood education institutions in Y city. The research method was a questionnaire survey on the perception and actual condition of the cooperative art activities. For the research problems, frequency, percentage, and average were calculated by using descriptive statistics, and t - test, F - test, and ${\chi}^2$ - test were conducted to examine the differences according to background variables of early childhood teachers. In conclusion, this study showed that the need for cooperative art activities of early childhood education institutions was highly perceived, and there were significant differences according to the background variables of teachers in educational goals, contents and method. There were significant differences according to the teachers' background variables in the actual cooperative art activities in terms of frequency, method, time, evaluation method, teacher training and support. Based on the results of this study, various supporting methods such as activities plan and method, teacher education and training appropriate for the cooperative art activity program and the presentation of young children are sought so that more desirable and efficient cooperative art activities can be operated in the field of early childhood education suggesting that it should be done.
Objective: This study examined the how childcare teachers' happiness and self-leadership influences on respect for young children's rights. Methods: For this purpose, 350 childcare teachers in G city were surveyed. Data of 291 copies as final research subjects were analyzed through one-way ANOVA and hierarchical regression analysis. Results: First, external and self-regulating happiness sub-factors of happiness, differed according to the academic background. Behavioral and cognitive strategies, the sub-factors of self-leadership, differed according to the academic background and career. The right to life, right to protection, development rights, and participation rights, which are sub-factors of respect for young children's rights, differed according to the academic background and career, and the development rights differed depending on the type of childcare center. Second, there was a significant positive correlation among the happiness, self-leadership and respect for young children's rights. Third, the happiness and self-leadership of childcare teachers have a significant effect on the respect of young children's rights. Conclusion/Implications: This study is to confirm the necessity of efforts for institutional and educational measures to promote the happiness and self-leadership of childcare teachers as part of efforts to raise childcare teachers who are highly aware of the need to respect young children's rights.
Objective: The objective of this study was to explore the perception and its improvement of pre-service teachers regarding teaching professionalism. The subjects of this study were 41 university students who experiencing early childhood teaching practice and 41 their cooperating teachers. Methods: In order to examine perception and its improvement on teaching professionalism, teaching professionalism scale for pre-service early childhood teachers (TPSECT) that was 33 items was administrated. Data were analysed paired t-test and contents analysis. Results: First, early childhood teaching practice experience affected positive effects on the four subordinate areas of teaching professionalism: , , , and improved perception of teaching professionalism. Second, student teachers were developing teaching professionalism, in a course of early childhood teaching practice which consisted of performing teaching real children in the field, evaluating and feedback of cooperating teacher, self-reflection and re-instruction. Conclusion/Implications: For improving pre-service teachers' professionalism, except a teaching practice subject, it is necessary to open various subjects that provide practical experiences, such as, teaching real children, observing actual class. This suggests that more experiential and practical in-service education program will be demanded.
Objective: The purpose of this research is to explore the influence of infant teachers' teaching efficacy and sensitivity level on organizational commitment. Methods: The subjects of the study were 206 infant teachers working in pre-schools in "Region S." In the research, a survey was given out using a teaching efficacy tool used by Hee-Kyung Kwak (2011), a teacher-sensitivity measurement scale created by Kwang-Mi Min (2014), and an organizational commitment measuring tool modified and improved by Jong-Kak Lee (2013). The collected data went through the SPSS 21.0 Win Program to gather the information regarding reliability analysis, technical statistics, correlation analysis, and multiple regression analysis. Results: First, the infant teachers' teaching efficacy was average, their sensitivity level was above average, and their organizational commitment was a little above average. Second, the infant teachers' teaching efficacy and the organizational commitment showed a static relation. The sensitivity level showed a static relation with affective commitment and normative commitment in organizational commitment. Third, the infant teachers' organizational commitment was largely influenced by general efficacy which is a subfactor in teaching efficacy, and by consistency which is a subfactor of sensitivity. Conclusion/Implications: The results of this research suggest that teachers' teaching efficacy and sensitivity level are crucial in improving their organizational commitment.
The aim of this study was to reduce the number of negligent accidents by improving the fire safety consciousness of infant and child teachers working in a day care center. For this purpose, 242 early childhood teachers working in the national nursery school in Daejeon and Chungcheongnam-do were surveyed. For the survey, the questionnaire consisted of job satisfaction, teacher's efficacy, and fire safety consciousness. The survey data were analyzed using the SPSS 20.0 win program. The factor of job satisfaction and teacher's efficacy had a significant positive influence on the fire safety consciousness of the early childhood teachers (<.05). The teacher's efficacy was found to mediate the relationship between the job satisfaction and fire safety consciousness. In conclusion, this study suggests that teacher's fire safety consciousness is high when the teacher's job satisfaction and efficacy are high. This study is expected to contribute to basic research to increase the teachers' consciousness of fire safety.
The purpose of this study purpose was to analyze the structural model of variables such as experiences and personal- and professional- beliefs of cultural diversity, and the culturally responsive teaching efficacy of early childhood preservice teachers including identifying the beliefs as mediating variables. Another purpose was finding the different structural relations among the research variables according to the stages of a teacher education program. The participants were 273 students who enrolled in K grade teacher education programs in the southwest areas of the U.S. The research variables were measured with the items used by Schroeder (2008), Pohan and Aguilar (2001), and Siwatu (2007). The structural equation model analysis showed that the direct effects were found between the paths from the cultural diversity experiences and personal beliefs to the culturally responsive teaching efficacy, from the experiences to personal beliefs, from the personal to professional beliefs. The personal beliefs were identified as a mediator of the path from the experiences to professional beliefs. By multi-group analysis, the path from professional beliefs to the culturally teaching efficacy showed a meaningful difference between the initial and final stage groups of a teacher education program. Suggestions for future research and early childhood teacher education programs were presented based on the results.
