Methods: An online survey was conducted from January 8th to 19th, 2021 for physical therapists who are members of the Korean Physical Therapist Association and Occupational therapists who are members of the Korean Occupational Therapists Association. The collected data were analyzed using the SPSS 21.0 program. To verify the difference in the awareness of dementia among medical technicians, a t-test was performed, and the chi-square test was used to analyze the difference in the responses for each question. Results: In this study, occupational therapists had a significantly higher average and standard deviation than physical therapists. Occupational therapists also had a significantly higher level of dementia awareness, including dementia symptom-related, dementia disease-related, and dementia therapy knowledge. Conclusion: The results of this study indicate that various educational initiatives and systems should be developed to help medical professionals increase their awareness and interest on dementia as a community, which can enable them to move in the same treatment direction with a common goal.

  • The purposes of this study were to examine if there is a relationship between elderly people's anxiety towards death and their reactions to the Star-Wave drawing, and to verify if the Star-Wave drawing was a good enough tool to measure elderly people's degree of death anxiety. The subject for this study were 307 elderly people (male 127, female 180) over 60 years of age with no physical and cognitive damage, who were residing in Geongsan city and attending colleges or welfare centers for the aged. The collected data were analyzed with SPSS WIN(ver. 12.0) program, and factor analysis, correlation analysis, Chi-square test, t-test, one-way ANOVA, and $Scheff\acute{e}$ test were utilized. The results showed that factors showing different levels of anxiety towards death in the Star-Wave drawing were the total harmony of the drawing, drawing style, repetition of wave, size of the star, and location of the star. In particular, the group that drew the Star-Wave drawing with total harmony felt less anxiety towards death than the other group. Therefore, the results of this study suggested a possibility of the Star-Wave drawing to be used as a good tool that could diagnose the elderly's degree of anxiety towards death.

  • Purpose : This study examined the effects of work environment and organizational culture on tertiary hospital nurses' turnover intention. Methods : A cross-sectional design was used, with a convenience sample of 371 hospital nurses from 16 units of three tertiary hospitals in South Korea. Data were collected through a self-report survey conducted during September and October 2016. Data were analyzed using the chi-square test, Fisher's exact test, independent t-test, and binary logistic regression analysis. Results : A total of 43.7% of the participants were identified as having turnover intention within 1 year. Factors related to turnover intention among hospital nurses were age, marital status, and total clinical career. Furthermore, a relationship-oriented organizational culture showed a negative association with turnover intention. Conclusion : These findings suggest it is important to provide appropriate motivational programs and incentives for nurses according to their clinical career to decrease turnover intention. Moreover, establishing a relationship-oriented organizational culture will also help to reduce the turnover intention of tertiary hospital nurses.

Methods: Forty-three patients with unilateral epicondylitis were enrolled in this study between January, 2 and April, 28, 2009. The patients were assigned to one of two groups: Nineteen patients in the intervention group were given the self-efficacy promotion program with specific home instruction and the 24 in the control group were treated with conventional treatment. Pain by numeric rating scale, anxiety, and the self-efficacy of exercise were evaluated before the program, and 4 weeks after completing the intervention. The number of exercises was checked after the intervention. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, Chi-square test, paired t-test, Pearson's correlation coefficients with SPSS 14.0 program. Results: Anxiety in the intervention group was significantly lower than the control group(p=.018). Maximal and resting pain in the control group were lower than the intervention group( p=.000, p=.003). The self-efficacy of exercise and the number of exercises increased in the intervention group but there was no significant difference (p=.057, p=.052). Conclusion: The results of this study indicate that a program promoting self-efficacy for patients with epicondylitis could be a useful nursing intervention to reduce anxiety.

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study was to evaluate risk factors and symptoms in cemento-osseous dysplasia (COD) patients. Materials and Methods: In this study, 62 patients who were diagnosed histologically with COD were investigated from 2010 to 2020 at the author's institution. We compared clinical and radiological characteristics of symptomatic and asymptomatic patients. The factors were sex, age, lesion size, site, radiologic stage of lesion, apical involvement, sign of infection, and history of tooth extraction. Statistical analysis was performed using Fisher's exact test and the chi-square test. Results: COD was more prevalent in female patients. With the exception of three cases, all were focal COD. The majority of patients presented with symptoms when the lesion was smaller than 1.5 cm in size. Symptoms were observed when the apex of the tooth was included in the lesion or there was a local infection around the lesion. The history of tooth extraction and previous endodontic treatment were evaluated, and history was not a significant predictor for the onset of symptoms. Conclusion: In this study, risk factors associated with symptomatic patients were size of lesion, apical involvement, and local infection.
