  • The vibration-vibration energy exchange of $N_2(v=1)+O_2(v=0){\to}N_2(v=0)+O_2(v=1)$ has been investigated, in particular, at low temperatures. The energy exchange rate constants are calculated by use of the solution of the time-dependent Schrodinger equation with the interaction potential of the colliding molecule as a perturbation term. The predicted rate constants are significantly agree with a experimental values in the range of 295∼$90^{\circ}K$. The consideration of the VV-VT coupling decreases the predicted pure VV energy exchange value by a factor of ∼2. When the collision frequency correction is introduced, the VV-VT rate constant is consistent with the observed value in the liquid phase. The consideration of the population of the rotational energy level increases the VV-VT value significantly.

  • 2,3,4,5-Tetrafluorobenzoic acid, an important intermediates of fluoroquinolone antibiotics, was synthesized from tetrachloride phthalic anhydride through imidation, fluorination, hydrolysis and decarboxylation. The effects of phase transfer catalyst on imidation and fluorination reaction and the effects of surfactants on the hydrolysis reaction were studied, respectively. Experimental results showed that the imidation reaction time was greatly reduced in the presence of a phase transfer catalyst, hexadecyltrimethyl, resulting in imidation yield as high as 98.2%. The fluorination yield reached 81.3% when tetrabutylammonium bromide was chosen as a phase transfer catalyst. The hydrolysis reaction time was also decreased by adding hexadecyltrimethyl while increasing the yield to 88.6%. In the post-processing, the sublimation method was used to purify the product, and ideal effect was obtained. In the decarboxylation reaction, tetrafluoride phthalic acid was obtained by decarboxylation in the solvent of tri-n-butyl amine and decarboxylation yield reached 81.6%. Compared with the literature method, the overall reaction time of the improved method decreased from 53 h to 20.5 h and the total yield increased from 47.3% to 57.4%.

  • Liquefied natural gas undergoes a process of vaporization to be supplied as city gas, which generates about 800 kJ/kg of cold energy. Currently, all of this cold energy is being dumped into the sea, resulting in a very serious energy waste from the point of view of energy recycling. In this study, a seawater desalination process that can utilize the wasted cold energy was proposed, and this process was optimized to analyze the specific power consumption and economic feasibility. As a result, the specific energy consumption of the proposed process was calculated as -5.2kWh/m3, and the production cost of the pure water was 0.148 USD/m3, confirming that it is superior to any other process developed so far.

  • We modify ZnO nanorods with Zn-porphyrin to obtain the improved characteristics of energy transfer, which is further investigated for the applicability to photovoltaic devices. A nitrogen heterocyclic ligand containing a thiol group is covalently grafted onto the surface of finely structured ZnO nanorods with a length of 50-250 nm and a diameter of 15-20 nm. Zn-porphyrin is then attached to the ligand molecules by the mechanism of metalligand axial coordination. The resulting energy band diagram suggests that the porphyrin-modified ZnO nanorods might provide an efficient pathway for energy transfer upon being applied to photovoltaic devices.

  • This study was carried out to investigate the effect of postweld heat treatment(PWHT, 930, 1080, $1230^{\circ}C$) on the microstructure, phase formation, pitting corrosion and mechanical properties such as hardness, tensile strength and impact values of super duplex stainless steel(UNS S32750) multipass welds. Based on the microstructural examination and X-ray diffraction analysis, it was found that the ${\sigma}$ phase was formed in the welds heat treated at $930^{\circ}C$ in which the ferrite content greatly decreased into 5~10% in the welds. The secondary austenite was formed in the reheated zone of welds and redissolved into ferrite with increasing heat treatment temperatures. The tensile strength and impact values of welds heat treated at $930^{\circ}C$ were the lowest and revealed the brittle fracture surface. The weight loss by pitting corrosion increased with test temperatures. It was confirmed that pitting corrosion occurred mainly in secondary austenite of reheated zones. The postweld heat treatment temperature is recommended to be in the range of $1050{\sim}1150^{\circ}C$.

  • The purpose of this work designed hybrid-structured and plasma effect photocatalyst of $Ag/In_2O_3/TiO_2/HNTs$ via sol-gel and photo-reduction methods. The structures, morphologies, optical and photoelectric performances of as-prepared photocatalysts were characterized via XRD, TEM, XPS, BET, UV-vis DRS, PL and photocurrents. The photocatalytic activity was evaluated by degradation of TC. The results showed that the hybrid-structure and plasma effect can effectively cause the multi-transfer of electrons and increase the separation rate of electron and hole pairs which obtained high photocatalytic activity. The photocatalytic degradation processes reveal that $^{\bullet}O_2{^-}$ and $h^+$ are major active species.
