Theoretical Investigation on the Effects of Additive Oxygen in HF Chemical Laser Performance

  • The effect of oxygen for the HF chemical laser performance has been theoretically investigated. Due to the inhibition mechanism of $O_2$ in $H_2$/$F_2$ chain reaction, the rate for the formation of HF is reduced by the addition of $O_2$. As the concentration of $O_2$ in the reaction mixture increases, the pulse power and temperature of the system becomes lower, while total output energy does not change significantly. But addition of $O_2$ makes the system easy to be controlled and the composition of $H_2$+$F_2$ can be high at constant total pressure. With this system, it is possible to obtain higher output energy than oxygen free environment.

Effective Approaches to Preventing Dendrite Growth in Lithium Metal Anodes: A Review

  • A lithium metal anode with high energy density has the potential to revolutionize the field of energy storage systems (ESS) and electric vehicles (EVs) that utilize rechargeable lithium-based batteries. However, the formation of lithium dendrites during cycling reduces the performance of the battery while posing a significant safety risk. In this review, we discuss various strategies for achieving dendrite-free lithium metal anodes, including electrode surface modification, the use of electrolyte additives, and the implementation of protective layers. We analyze the advantages and limitations of each strategy, and provide a critical evaluation of the current state of the art. We also highlight the challenges and opportunities for further research and development in this field. This review aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the different approaches to achieving dendrite-free lithium metal anodes, and to guide future research toward the development of safer and more efficient lithium metal anodes.

금속 불화물 첨가제가 α-알루미나 입자생성에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Metal Fluoride on the Formation of α-Alumina Particles)

  • 질산 알루미늄과 암모니아 용액을 출발물질로 하고 또한 금속 불화물을 첨가제로 사용하여 $\alpha$-알루미나 입자를 침전법으로 제조하였다. 이 때 제조과정에서 사용된 용매의 영향과 $AlF_3$, $CaF_2$, $MnF_2$ 등의 3 가지 금속 불화물 첨가제가 $\alpha$-알루미나로의 상전이 온도, 입자 크기 및 형태 등에 미치는 영향에 대해 조사하였다. $\alpha$-알루미나 제조시 사용된 용매는 상전이 온도에는 큰 영향을 미치지 않는 반면 입자 크기에 영향을 미쳤다. 첨가제 조성에 따라 $\alpha$-알루미나 상전이 온도가 차이가 났으나($AlF_3(800^{\circ}C)$ < $MnF_2(900^{\circ}C)$ < $CaF_2(950^{\circ}C)$), 첨가제를 사용하지 않은 경우($1,100^{\circ}C$)보다는 모두 상전이 온도가 낮음을 알 수 있었다. 3 가지 첨가제를 사용한 경우 모두 판상의 $\alpha$-알루미나 입자들이 얻어졌으나, 그 중 $MnF_2$를 첨가한 경우에 가장 작은 크기의 $\alpha$-알루미나 입자들이 생성되었다.

탄소가 코팅된 일산화규소(SiO) 음극에서 전해질 첨가제로서 Lithium Bis(oxalato)borate의 영향 (Effect of Lithium Bis(oxalate)borate as an Electrolyte Additive on Carbon-coated SiO Negative Electrode)

  • 탄소가 코팅된 일산화규소(C-coated SiO) 전극에서 전해질 첨가제로서 lithium bis(oxalato)borate(LiBOB)의 영향을 조사하였다. 전해질 조성은 1.3M $LiPF_6$/ethylene carbonate (EC), fluoroethylene carbonate (FEC), diethyl carbonate (DEC) (5:25:70 v/v/v)이며, 여기에 LiBOB을 0.5 wt.% 첨가한 것과 첨가하지 않은 2가지 전해질을 사용하였다. LiBOB을 첨가하지 않은 전해질에서 C-coated SiO 전극은 초기에 저항이 작은 피막이 형성되어 결정질의 $Li_{15}Si_4$를 형성할 때까지 합금화가 진행되며 동시에 큰 부피 변화를 보였다. 따라서 입자의 균열이 발생하고, 전극의 저항이 증가하여 충방전이 진행됨에 따라 용량이 빠르게 감소하였다. 반면에 LiBOB이 첨가된 전해질에서는 초기에 LiBOB의 환원분해에 의해 저항이 큰 피막이 형성되어, 합금화 반응이 원활히 진행되지 못하였다. 따라서 결정질 $Li_{15}Si_4$도 생성되지 못하였고, 결과적으로 부피변화도 적게 발생하므로 입자의 균열과 전극 저항의 증가도 적게 나타났다. 이러한 효과로 싸이클 후반부에서 용량감소가 적었고, 싸이클 성능도 좋은 결과를 보였다. 반면 피막 저항에 의한 영향이 줄어드는 $45^{\circ}C$ 에서는 LiBOB 첨가에 관계없이 합금화 반응이 유사하게 진행되며 비슷한 싸이클 성능을 나타내었다.

  • This experiment was conducted to obtain basic information on breeding of flue-cured tabacco varieties . Nine cultivars and partial diallel set of 36 Fl hybrids were grown at Daegu Experiment Station, Korea Ginseng & Tobacco Research Institute in 1983. Partial dominance with high additive gene effect was observed for yield, leaves per plant , days to flower, leaf weight, nicotine and reducing sugar content. partial dominance with additive and dominant gene effect was observed for stalk height , leaf width midrib weight Overdominance with high dominant gene effect was observed for leaf length and midrib width. The directions of dominance were positive for yield, stalk height, leaf weight, leaf length, leaf width, midrib weight, midrib width and reducing sugar content, and the negative was days to flower. The estimates of effective genes were 1 for leaves per plant, 2 for stalk height, days to flower and leaf shape. 3 to 6 for leaf length, leaf width, leaf weight and midrib weight.

수성막포 약제를 첨가한 미분무수의 식용유 화재 소화특성 (Extinguishing Characteristics of Cooking Oil Fire by Water Mist added with AFFF Agent)

  • Effective way of cooking oil fire extinguishment is using water mist system which has cooling and smothering effects. Low pressure water mist system has advantage because it is compatible with existing sprinkler systems. To increase the effectiveness of low pressure water mist system, additives can be used which increase the momentum of water particle and the chemical effect. In this experiment, aqueous film forming form(AFFF) agent is used as additive and the effect of additive concentration and water pressure are experimented. For the extinguishment of cooking oil fire such as soybean and olive oils, AFFF agent is effective and can decrease the fire extinguishing time and water consumption.

  • 고온, 고속의 가혹한 조건하에서 윤활유의 열분해시 생성되는 수소의 발열반응에 의한 이차적인 열활성화 에너지에 기인되어 금속의 마멸현상을 가속화시키는 열활성화이론을 기본으로 하여 수소의 영향을 제거 혹은 감소시키기 위해 새로운 첨가제인 diethyl-3,5-di-t-butyl-4-hydroxy benzyl phosphonate(DEP)을 합성하였다. Termal degrading 실험과 열역학적 고찰을 통하여 합성첨가제인 DEP가 hydrogen scavenger로서의 작용 가능성을 확인하였다.

  • The electrochemistry characterization of metal is important in many industrial applications. In this study, we investigated the C-V diagrams related to the electrochemistry characterization of nickel. We determined electrochemical measurement by using cyclic voltammetry with a three electrode system. A measuring range was reduced from initial potential to -1350mV, continuously oxidized to 1650mV and measured to the initial point. The scan rate were 100, 150, 200 and 200mV/s. As a result, the C-V characterization of nickel using ethanolamine and ethylethanolamine inhibitor appeared irreversible process caused by the oxidation current from the cyclic voltammogram. After adding ethanolamine compound additive, adsorption film constituted, and the passive phenomena happened. According to the results by cyclic voltammetry method, it was revealed that the effect of the electrochemistry characterization of nickel depends on ethanolamine structure interaction to adsorption complex.

나노 사이즈 탄소입자의 마찰마모 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on Friction and Wear Characteristics of Nano-size Carbon)

  • A large number of additives have been used with the efforts of improving the performance of lubricants used along with the development of internal combustion engine. In this study, nano-sized graphite was used as liquid-lubricant additive. In order to disperse graphite into oil, we esterified the nano-carbon manufactured by our company with various types of alcohol. After measuring the anti-wear in accordance with the types of alcohol and added concentration, it has been found that its anti-wear/friction decrease has been improved in case of adding 0.1% of the sample composed with C12/14 mixed alcohol & hexadecanol.

Simultaneous Determination of Plasticizers in Food Simulants Using GC/MS

  • Migration levels of plasticizers, di-n-butyl phthalate (DBP), benzyl-butyl phthalate (BBP), di-n-octyl phthalate(DNOP), di-iso-decyl phthalate (DIDP) and di-iso-nonyl phthalate (DINP), di-(2-ethylhexyl) adipate (DEHA), from 46 poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC) wrap films and 54 PVC gaskets into food simulants were determined using gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC/MS). The method was validated with limit of detection (LOD) of $0.01{\sim}0.02\;{\mu}g/mL$ for DBP, BBP, DNOP and DEHA, and $2\;{\mu}g/mL$ for DIDP and DINP. The linearity were found to be > 0.99 for all the compounds in concentration range of $0.1{\sim}81.4\;{\mu}g/mL$, and overall recoveries were ranged from 90.4 ~ 99.6%. DBP, BBP, DNOP, DEHA, DIDP and DINP were not detected in food simulants, except 1 wrap sample from which 0.28 and $0.99\;{\mu}g/mL$ of DEHA were detected respectively when tested with 20% ethanol and n-heptane as food simulants. These values were below the regulatory limitation in European Union (EU).
