  • 전자결합소자는 1069년 미국의 Bell Telephone Laboratory에서 W.Boyle과 G.Smith에 의해서 발명된 후 수년간의 각 연구소에서의 개발과정을 거쳐 1975년 1원 소규모 상품화에 까지 이르고 있다. 여기에서 전자결합소자의 동작원리와 발명당시의 많은 문제점들이 개발과정에서 어떻게 해결되었는가를 살펴보고 소규모 상품화에서 제기되는 몇가지 문제점들을 기술하고자 한다.

  • In this paper, the charge pump circuit of a VPP generator for a low voltage DRAM is newly proposed. The proposed charge pump is a 2-stage cross coupled charge pump circuit. The charge transfer efficiency is improved, and Distributed Clock Inverter is located in each charge pump stage to reduce clock period so that the pumping current is increased. In addition, the precharge circuit is located at Gate node of charge transfer transistor to solve the problem which is that the Gate node is maintained high voltage because the boosted charge can't discharge, so device reliability is decreased. The simulation result is that pumping current, pumping efficiency and power efficiency is improved. The layout of the proposed VPP generator is designed using $0.18{\mu}m$ Triple-Well process.

3-Dimensional Numerical Analysis of Deep Depletion Buried Channel MOSFETs and CCDs

  • The visual analysis of buried channel (Be) devices such as buried channel MOSFETs and CCDs (Charge Coupled Devices) is investigated to give better understanding and insight for their electrical behaviours using a 3-dimensional (3-D) numerical simulation. This paper clearly demonstrates the capability of the numerical simulation of 'EVEREST' for characterising the analysis of a depletion mode MOSFET and BC CCD, which is a simulation software package of the semiconductor device. The inverse threshold and punch-through voltages obtained from the simulations showed an excellent agreement with those from the measurement involving errors of within approximately 1.8% and 6%, respectively, leading to the channel implanted doping profile of only approximately $4{\sim}5%$ error. For simulation of a buried channel CCD an advanced adaptive discretising technique was used to provide more accurate analysis for the potential barrier height between two channels and depletion depth of a deep depletion CCD, thereby reducing the CPU running time and computer storage requirements. The simulated result for the depletion depth also showed good agreement with the measurement. Thus, the results obtained from this simulation can be employed as the input data of a circuit simulator.

Design of a Charge-Coupled Device without Vertical Black Stripes (세로 검은 줄무늬가 없는 전하 결합 소자의 설계)

  • The verial black stripe is one of the defects in a chrge-coupled device(CCD). Vertical black stripes are caused by some signal chrges which fail to transport form the vertical CCD region to the horizontal one. The defective transport of signal charges orignates in the potential barrier with the narrow width effects in the verti-cal-horizintal interface stuccture. The vertical black stripes show up when the charge transfer dfficiency is less than 99.2% under the low illumination condition. In this research, we designed and developed a new vertical-horizontal interface structre of a delta type, thus marking it possible to eliminate the vertical black stripes.

Study on Biophoton Emission from roots of Angelica sinensis D., Angelica acutiloba K., and Angelica pubescens M. (국내 수입되는 바디나물속 기원 한약재의 Biophoton(생체광자) 방출 특성 연구)

  • Objectives : The purpose of this study is to investigate the delayed luminescence-biophoton emission from root of Angelica sinensis D., Angelica acutiloba K., and Angelica pubescens M. These three species of Genus Angelica are now imported from other nations into Republic of Korea. Methods : Randomly selected samples from roots of Angelica sinensis D., Angelica acutiloba K., and Angelica pubescens M. were radiated with 150 W metal halide lamp for 1 minute. After radiation. biophoton emissions of each sample were detected by electron multiplication(EM)-charge coupled device camera. The detected biophoton image was calculated with unit of counts per pixel. Results: The average biophoton emissions of delayed luminescence with EM ratio of $\times$150 and $\times$250 were distinguished significantly. The maximum biophoton emissions of delayed luminescence with EM ratio of $\times$250 were distinguished significantly. Conclusions : These results suggest that biophoton imaging of roots of Angelica sinensis D., Angelica acutiloba K., and Angelica pubescens M. could become the meaningful method for the study of differentiation for these three species of Genus Angelica.

Cervi Pantotrichum Cornu was used as a tonic in Korean medicine. Methods : Randomly selected samples of Cervi Pantotrichum Cornu were radiated with 150 W metal halide lamp for 1 minute. After radiation, biophoton emissions of each sample were detected by electron multiplication(EM)-charge coupled device camera. The detected biophoton image was calculated with unit of counts per pixel. Results : The average biophoton emissions of delayed luminescence with EM ratio of ${\times}l50\;and\;{\times}250$ were distinguished significantly. The maximum biophoton emissions of delayed luminescence with EM ratio of ${\times}250$ were distinguished significantly. Conclusion : These results suggest that biophoton imaging of Cervi Pantotrichum Cornu could become the meaningful method for the study of differentiation and classification of Cervi Pantotrichum Cornu.

  • IP camera which transmits image signal in network includes web server, network interface unit and CCD(Charge-Coupled Device) module. IP camera is able to transmit image signals by network in real time and to monitor the scene image always by IP or Web address. IP camera is substituted for analog camera now gradually according to the development and progress of camera technology and expect it to extend the boundary in rolling stock gradually cause of the excellent expansibility and noise solution of analog camera. We survey the IP camera system composition in rolling stock and so this can be a help to develop and design IP camera system, because it has unsolved problems for common use of IP camera.

  • The performance characteristics of a satellite imager using a Time Delay and Integration(TDI) Charge Coupled Device (CCD) with fixed integration time is investigated for the variation of satellite altitude and tilt angle. In consequence of the investigation TDI synchronization using tilt imaging is proposed as a solution to compensate geometric performance degradation due to altitude decrease. The tilt angle optimized for the TDI synchronization at decreased altitude is presented. This result can be used for a TDI CCD imager with variable integration time in a certain range as well.

  • A Color Discerning Device(CDD) is the equipment to use in Rice Processing Complex(RPC). By use a high-speed charge-coupled device camera, CDD can sorting discolored grain according to light and shade. The existing CDD's driving performance is not so good as overseas machine. Besides, transportation process causes a defect in the mechanism from impact or harmonic excitation or etc. This study is represented the problem of CDD through modal analysis and static analysis by using ANSYS workbench. To analysis the problem of driving condition, devide each part of CDD for performed modal analysis. The problem of driving condition and transportation process solved by carry out modal analysis and static analysis.
