An Efficient Correction Method for Misrecognized Words in Off-line Hangul Character Recognition (오프라인 한글 문자 인식을 위한 효율적인 오인식 단어 교정 방법)

  • In order to achieve high accuracy of off-line character recognition(OCR) systems, the recognized text must be processed through a post-processing stage using contextual information. In this paper, we reclassify Korean word classes in terms of OCR word correction. And we collect combinations of Korean particles(approximately 900) linguistic verbal from(around 800). We aggregate 9 Korean irregular verbal phrases defined from a Korean linguistic point of view. Using these Korean word information and a Head-tail method, we can correct misrecognized words. A Korean character recognizer demonstrates 93.7% correct character recognition without a post-processing stage. The entire recognition rate of our system with a post-processing stage exceeds 97% correct character recognition.

  • In physics-based character animation, trajectory optimization has been widely adopted for automatic motion synthesis, through the prediction of an optimal sequence of future states of the character based on its system dynamics model. In general, the system dynamics model is neither in a closed form nor differentiable when it handles the contact dynamics between a character and the environment with rigid body collisions. Employing smoothed contact dynamics, researchers have suggested efficient trajectory optimization techniques based on numerical differentiation of the resulting system dynamics. However, the numerical derivative of the system dynamics model could be inaccurate unlike its analytical counterpart, which may affect the stability of trajectory optimization. In this paper, we propose a novel method to derive the closed-form derivative for the system dynamics by properly approximating the contact model. Based on the resulting derivatives of the system dynamics model, we also present a model predictive control (MPC)-based motion synthesis framework to robustly control the motion of a biped character according to on-line user input without any example motion data.

  • Visual art elements can most intuitively express the information expressed by a game character and play an important role in shaping a successful game character. We compares and analyzes the role design in the skins of the "Five Tiger-like Generals" series in Glory of Kings in terms of color, line, graphic and other visual elements. Different visual elements form different visual impacts and influences, which brings people different psychological feelings and presents different emotional colors. The reasonable use of visual elements gives people a refined visual experience and a comfortable psychological feeling, adding more influencing factors to the "immersion" of the game. It not only can strongly attract the attention and love of players, but also spreads traditional culture of the nation and the country. Therefore, whether the visual art elements of a game character can be appropriately used is an important part of the success of the game work. The analysis of visual art elements of game characters has important learning and research value.

  • High-luminance CNT-FED character-displays using simple line-rib-structure was performed. One display-panel had $48{\times}480$-dots and the sub-pixel pitch was 1mm. Another panel had $32{\times}256$-color-pixels, and the subpixel size was $0.6mm{\times}1.8mm$. The power consumption was less than 10W at character-displaying module. It should be useful for public display even under emergent no-power condition.

  • In this paper, we would study the applicability of neural networks to the recognition process of Korean stenographic character image, applying the classification function, which is the greatest merit of those of neural networks applied to the various pans so far, to the stenographic character recognition, relatively simple classification work. Korean stenographic recognition algorithms, which recognize the characters by using some methods, have a quantitative problem that despite the simplicity of the structure, a lot of basic characters are impossible to classify into a type. They also have qualitative one that it is not easy to classify characters for the delicacy of the character forms. Even though this is the result of experiment under the limited environment of the basic characters, this shows the possibility that the stenographic characters can be recognized effectively by neural network system. In this system, we got 90.86% recognition rate as an average.

  • In case of off-line character recognition with statistical method, the character recognition speed for Korean or Chinese characters is slow since the amount of calculation is huge. To improve this problem, we seperate the recognition steps into several functional stages and implement them with hardwares for each stage so that all the stages can be processed with pipline structure. In accordance with temporal parallel processing, a high speed character recognition system can be implemented. In this paper, we implement a classification hardware, which is one of the several functional stages, to improve the speed by parallel structure with multiple DSPs(Digital Signal Processors). Also, it is designed to be able to expand DSP boards in parallel to make processing faster as much as we wish. We implement the hardware as an add-on board in IBM-PC, and the result of experiment is that it can process about 47-times and 71-times faster with 2 DSPs and 3 DSPs respectively than the IBM-PC(486D$\times$2-66MHz). The effectiveness is proved by developing a high speed OCR(Optical Character Recognizer).

  • In this paper, we designed and implemented Avata construction system using XML(extensible Markup Language) and SVG(Scalable Vector Graphic). The Web character created with Avata(or Web character) construction system are displayed in same (on without damage of image, regardless terminal type and user can modify and change image easily in form that want. Compare with existing Web character system, the Reusability of web character part element Is increased greatly with Avata construction system of this paper. Because SVG is described by text, graphic retrieval is convenient, and applications can use easily SVG document. Also, SVG can create web graphic document dynamically with database because can access easily in all graphic primitives of line, Polygon, text, image etc. As well as web character using study finding, we may develop usable technology to some contents on World Wide Web.

  • This study is the realization study recognizing the Korean gothic printing letter. This study defined the new grapheme by using the connection ingredient and had the graphemes recognized by means of the feature dots of the isolated dot, end dot, 2-line gathering dots, more than 3 lines gathering dots, and classified the characters by means of the arrangement information of the graphemes and the layers that the graphemes form within the characters, and made the character database for the recognition by using them. The layers and the arrangement information of the graphemes consisting in the characters were presumed by using the weight center position information of the graphemes extracted from the characters to recognize and the information of the graphemes obtained by vertically exploring from the weight center of each grapheme, and it recognized the characters by judging and comparing the character groups of the database by means of the information which was secured this way. 350 characters were used for the character recognition test and about 97% recognition result was obtained by recognizing 338 characters.
