  • A matter of primary concern about all the design is concentrated on how to create more valuable things to allow people to live an affluent life. However, it is very difficult to achieve the goal because every design work is changed in accordance with given situations. Situations are changeable, so is design. There is no progress without change, but change is not necessarily progress. It is highly desirable that their changes be beneficial to mankind. Our main problem is to be able to discrimination between which should be discarded and that which should be kept, built and improved Viewed at this aspect, it is significant to study the relation between globalism and cultural identity of design, because every design has been constantly influenced by global trends and local characteristics. The paper is composed of four parts Introduction, Characteristic of global design, Cultural identity of design and Conclusion In Introduction, the purpose and background of the study are presented. In Chapter1. social back ground, multi-kinds smallproduction and new problems and searched. In Chapter2, vernacular design, transmission and propagation and tradition and innovation are considered. In Conclusion, some suggestive words on the subject are mentioned.

  • Objectives : Recently in the field of medical education, the study of narrative has been gaining much attention. This study examines the Huangdineijing in terms of narrative studies. Methods : The chapter Shanggutianzhenlun, which is narratively sound in its composition, and the chapter Siqidiaoshendalun, whose narrative structure is simple but composed in a way that is difficult to understand were studied. Results : The narrative structure of Shanggutianzhenlun is interrogatory with a main character, making it appropriate for narrative study. However, the Siqidiaoshendalun arranges its content rather simply. Conclusions : The Shanggutianzhenlun needs to be converted into appropriate narrative terminology, while the Siqidiaoshendalun needs narrative supplementation using methods such as visual thinking and mind mapping.

  • In responding to the recent framework convention on climate change, and the rise of the need for energy efficient buildings, such as Zero Energy Buildings (ZEB), domestic insulation standards and energy conservation regulations are being reinforced, to prevent heat loss. Accordingly, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport have made amendments in Chapter 21 "Enforcement regulations for building facilities standards etc.", and Chapter 22 "Energy conservation standard", to reflect these changes. To effectively implement these regulations, it is required to propose air-tightness test methods, and establish air-tightness standards, based on the air leakage characteristics of domestic apartment housings. This research has been done primarily to collect basic technical data, to provide guidance for the establishment of domestic air-tightness standards for new apartment housing, through studying air-tightness test methods, field measurement on air-tightness of new apartment housings, and air leakage characteristics of major developed countries.

  • The study will examine SeongHo Lee Yik(星湖 李瀷)'s thought through his ZhongYongJiShu("中庸疾書"). The book is said that dealing with what was not dealt with in ZhongYongZhanJu("中庸章句") by one's own understanding gained through doubt(懷疑를 통한 自得) is ZhongYongJiShu("中庸疾書"). As with a metaphor of a peach in HouShuo("後說"), SeongHo(星湖) wrote ZhongYongJiShu("中庸疾書") based on his own understanding through skepticism. He divides the chapters of the book using a different method. Chapters 2 to 11 are considered as KongziZhongYong(孔子中庸) that is, quotes of Confucius, and chapters 12 to 30 as explanatory texts that offer explanations of the quotes. Chapter 1 is preface and chapter 33 closing remark. However, a clear explanation is required for the reason why chapter 1 should be preface and chapter 33 should be closing remark. SeongHo(星湖) offers an explanation for the appearance of ZhongYong("中庸") in the title of the book. He indicated that for giving life to the meaning of chapter 1, ZhongHe(中和) should have been used in the place of ZhongYong ("中庸"), but since it was the preface of KongziZhongYong(孔子中庸), Zhong Yong("中庸") was used from KongziZhongYong(孔子中庸). SeongHo(星湖) followed XingJiLi(性卽理) based on the interpretation of chapter 1 and chapter 20. In this way, he followed a Neo-Confucian proposition which is called XingJiLi(性卽理), defining Xing(性). That showed his interpretation was still based on Zhuzi(朱子). According to SeongHo(星湖), ZhongYong("中庸") is mainly on Cheng(誠), and he dealt with Cheng(誠) in ZhongYong("中庸"). Since Cheng(誠) is an important concept in the later part of the book, ZhongYongJiShu("中庸疾書") was focusing on Cheng(誠) for the later part. However, Cheng(誠) was a concept that was not paid much attention than KongziZhongYong(孔子中庸), so it is just a part of explanatory texts, according to SeongHo(星湖).

  • Strengthening the competitiveness of Korean Industrial Technology with cooperation from EU enterprises is very important. With regard to the technological cooperation Framework Program (FP) from the EU during the period, 2007 to 2013, the most active participants involved were Germany, England and France. Additional participants were Russia, China, India, and Brazil. Korean participation as a non-EU Member State in this program was low. The aim of this study was to determine effective activation strategies for FP participation by Korean enterprises and institutions. Chapter 2 reports the theoretical background. Chapter 3 presents the methodology of the study. Chapter 4 describes the $8^{th}$ FP of the EU in detail. Chapter 5 attempts to find a solution for the optimal participation of Korean firms and institutions in the 8th FP of the EU. Through this paper, a solution for $8^{th}$ FP can be found: many Korean enterprises are unaware of the FP. Therefore, it is of the utmost importance to provide information about the characteristics and processes regarding the EU $8^{th}$ FP.

  • With the increased use of computers in medical fields, we can consider introducing computer mediated communication into the area of patient care such as medical or health counseling and education. But little was known about what problems can be counseled, what is the main direction of counseling, and what difficulties are met during the computer mediated counseling. So I conducted this study. This is a fundamental study concerning the health counseling by the inter-net. In this study, medical counseling using a method of questioning -answering through a computer mediated communication system was carried out from June 1998 to May 1999. I analyzed the contents of questions and answers by the ICPC classification. The ICPC classification emerged as a standard for information categorization in Primary Health Care within a few years. One of the most prominent features of this classification is the inclusion of the complaints of the patients (symptoms & complaints) and the social problems (Chapter Z). Thus, and for the first time, the demand of patients may be assessed such as it is expressed in the reality. The ICPC list is now an international standard whose validity is not questioned any more. It is translated in more than twenty different languages. The data collected were analyzed by descriptive statistical method, c2 test by cross tabulations. Followings are the results of this study. 1. The 3,054 users composed of 64% of males and 36% of females. The highest number of users was showed in the age group of $25{\sim}29$ (39.4%). 2. During the one-year period, the average number of counseling per user was 2.5 cases and per day was 21.1 cases. 3. In classifying symptoms and complaints by 17 chapter, digestive(17.6%), general and unspecified (12.7%), skin(12.7%) and musculoskeletal system (9.6%) were most common questions. 4. The distribution of diagnosis by 17 chapter, general and unspecified (21.4%), digestive (15.3%), skin (11.9%) and mus- culoskeletal system (8.9%) were most common answers. 5. Many users wanted to know symptoms and complaints(3,609 cases), treatment principles (2,928 cases), prognosis and preventive methods for health problems which were previously diagnosed (284 cases).

  • Since the end of 1997, the Korean economy has been in deep recession; the unemployment rate has rocketed to 6.7% and the economic growth rate has dropped to -3.8% in the first quarter of 1998. Facing with this mass unemployment, the Korean Government launched comprehensive countermeasures against mass unemployment.. However, these have been in severe criticism from the outset on account of ineffectiveness and impracticability. It is in this regard that this paper purports to design a socially acceptable and financially feasible social safety net by reforming the Livelihood Aid Programme. For this purpose, chapter 3 defines the concept of social safety net, and chapter 4 reviews the social safety net programmes sponsored by World Bank and IMF in the Third World countries and Eastern European countries. Chapter 5 proposes the Three Step Approach in designing the social safety net in Korea.

  • This paper is intended to compare the stock market performances of the reorganized firms of South Korea with those of the United States and to analyze the relationship between the performances and the accounting informations of those firms. This paper derives two major implications. First, the stock performances of the reorganized firms of the two countries show very different time profiles. As time goes by after completion of reorganization, the reorganized firms of the US shows significant improvements in stock performances, whereas those of South Korea deteriorates, which means that the institution of reorganization of South Korea has serious problems in sustainablity. Second, in the long-run, any accounting variable cannot affect significantly the stock performances in both countries. Inspite that this paper is limited to the comparison of only two countries, still it can be concluded that the institution of reorganization of South Korea has serious problems in sustainability, and accounting improvements of the reorganized firms cannot provide full credibility in the stock market.
