  • In this paper, an efficient robust control method for chaotic system introducing the concept, the edge of chaos (:boundary status between chaos and non-chaos), is proposed. To realize this concept, we introduce an extended performance index which consists of two parts. One is for achievement of the system's objects, another is for keeping the system edge of chaos. Parameters of the neural network controller are adjusted to minimize the value of the extended performance index and achieve the above two objects using Random...

  • We may consider the following three fundamental epistemological questions concerning cosmology. Can cosmology at last understand the origin of the universe? Can computers at last create? Can life be formed at last synthetically? These questions are in some sense related to the liar paradox containing the self-reference and, therefore. may not be answered by recursive processes in finite time. There are, however. various implications such that the chaos may break the trap of the self-reference paradox. In other words, Goedel's incompleteness theorem would not apply to chaos, even if the chaos can be generated by recursive processes. Internal relations among cosmology, epistemology and chaos must be investigated in greater detail.

  • An association memory, solving an optimization problem, a Boltzmann machine scheme learning and a back propagation learning in our chaos neuron models are reviewed and some new results are presented. In each model its microscopicrule (a parameter of a chaos system in a neuron) is subject to its macroscopic state. This feedback and chaos dynamics are essential mechanisms of our model and their roles are briefly discussed.

  • In this paper, we describe a chaos simulator as a developing tool for applications of chaos engineering. This simulator is composed of three modules, such as generation module of chaotic signals by deterministic rules, determination module whether observed time series is chaos or not, and nonlinear system identification module by self generating Neuro Fuzzy Model.

  • Objective: This study aimed to examine the influences of household chaos on self-control of young children and to investigate whether teachers' limit-setting styles had moderating effects. Methods: The participants were 184 children (83 boys and 101 girls), at age 3 -5, their mothers and teachers working at daycare centers located in Seoul and Gyeonggi-do. The data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, Pearson's correlation, and hierarchical regression. Moderating effects were examined using the Mplus8.0 program. Results: The results indicated that household chaos as well as teacher's permissive and logical limit-setting styles had significant effects on self-control of preschoolers. The lower the level of household chaos was, the higher the level of self-control of preschoolers was. The level of self-control was more likely to be high when teachers used logical limit-setting with detailed explanation to children whereas it was lower when they used more permissive limit-setting. In addition, teachers' logical limit-setting moderated the relation between household chaos and self-control of preschoolers. That is, the effects of household chaos on preschoolers' self-control were mitigated when the level of logical limit-setting was high compared to when it was low. Conclusion/Implications: The results suggested that both household chaos and teachers' limit-setting styles play important roles in increasing self-control of preschoolers.

  • In this paper generating algorithms of the conventional chaos code sequences and a new chaos code sequence derived from the real and imaginary parts of FFT of one chaos code sequence, and the time-frequency function characteristics of generated code sequences to measure the signal resolution, are considered. And two chaos based QCSK digital communication systems-one with two different chaos code sequences, the other with FFT of one chaos code sequence-are analyzed in AWGN and fading communication channels. After analyzing the correlation functions of such sequences, the delta-like autocorrelation and near zero crosscorrelation functions of them are very suitable for chaos based spread spectrum communication systems, is verified. Through evaluating the performance of two chaos based QCSK systems above using Monte-Carlo simulation, the improvement of performance in the latter QCSK system compare favorably with that of the former system, is shown.

  • There has never been research on Chaos analysis using real estate auction sale price rate in Korea. In this study, three Chaos analysis methodologies - Hurst exponent, correlation dimension, and maximum Lyapunov exponent - in order to capture the nonlinear deterministic dynamic system characteristics. High level of Hurst exponent and the extremely low maximum Lyapunov exponent provide the tendency and the persistence of the data. The empirical results give two meaningful facts. First, monthly time lags of the correlation dimension are coincident with the time period from the approval auction start day to the sale price fixing day. Second, its weekly time lags correspond to the time period from the last day of request for sale price allocation to the sale price fixing day. Then, this study potentially examines the predictability of the real estate auction price rate time series.

  • This paper proposes a Chaos Pulse Width Modulation(CPWM) technique. For generating the chaotic numbers by chaos phenomenon, chaos area $\lambda$=0.99 in bifurcation tree of the proposed double tent mapping is used. A micro-controller is used for the generation of chaos numbers and triangular carrier with chaotic frequency is obtained through the process of frequency modulation according to the generated chaos numbers. The experiments are executed with the 1.5kw induction motor coupled with a 2.5A load. The experimental results show that the voltage / current spectra are spread to a chaotic range, and the switching noise of motor is reduced by the proposed method compared to the fixed frequency PWM method.
