  • Current growth of VLSI design depends critically on the research and development (If automatic layout tool. Automatic layout is composed of placement assigning a specific shape to a block and arranging the block on the layout surface and routing finding the interconnection of all the nets. Algorithms Performing placement and routing impact on Performance and area of VLSI design. Channel routing is a problem assigning each net to a track after global routing and minimizing the track that assigned each net. In this paper we propose a genetic algorithm searching solution space for the netlist partitioning problem for 4-layer channel routing. We compare the performance of proposed genetic algorithm(GA) for channel routing with that of simulated annealing(SA) algorithm by analyzing the results which are the solution of given problems. Consequently experimental results show that out proposed algorithm reduce area over the SA algorithm.

  • An open problem proposed by Safavi-Naini and Seberry in IEEE transactions on information theory(1991) can be reduced to a combinatorial problem on partitioning a subset of binary matrices. We solve the generalized Naini-Seberry's open problem by considering a certain class of binary matrices. Thus a subliminal channel of r 〉 1 bit capacity is systematically established for Naini-Seberry's authentication schemes. We also construct concrete examples.

  • Conventional on-channel-repeaters (OCRs) have a crucial problem that the power of a re-transmitted signal is highly limited by a feedback signal due to antenna coupling. The power limitation problem in OCRs has been solved by incorporating a demodulation-type feedback canceller which eliminates unwanted feedback signals by estimating a feedback channel. In applying the demodulation-type feedback canceller to T-DMB repeaters, there is a troublesome problem of unfrequent known pilot symbols, resulting in poor convergence performance of channel estimation. To solve this problem and enhance the accuracy of estimation, we propose a partitioning method of the Phase Reference Symbol (PRS) transformed in time domain. Since filter coefficients are updated every one partitioned subgroup, the number of updates is increased by the number of partitioned subgroups and thus the convergence speed is enhanced. The improved performance of feedback-channel estimation is directly connected with the feedback-cancellation performance. Simulation result shows that the feedback canceller incorporating the proposed partitioning method has a good performance in terms of residual feedback power.

  • This paper deals with a systematic approach for the construction of the fixed-delay tree search (FDTS) detector in the intersymbol interference channel. The approach is based on the efficient multi-dimensional space partitioning. The Voronoi diagram (VoD) and the Delaunay tessellation (DT) of the multi-dimensional space are applied to implement the algorithm. In the proposed approach, utilizing the geometric information contained in the VOD/DT, the relative location of the observation sequence is determined which has been shown to reduce the implementation complexity. Detailed construction procedures are discussed followed by an example from the intersymbol interference communication channel.

  • Unequal Error Protection(UP) is reasonable scheme in transmission of compressed video with low bit rate. Because it offers the error correction ability each other data according to the Source Significance Information. Hence it can also be flexible to the given channel environment on the video transmission. This paper propose the joint source channel coding through the UEP in consideration of the hierarchical structure of H.263+ based video and the influence of the transmission error. It especially proposes the error-resilient video transmission technique which can reduce complexity of channel coder & decoder by partitioning the video data with a frame. As the result of the proposed algorithm, it is possible to increase the quality of reconstructed video in the error environment without creating additional bits.

  • This paper generalizes the concept of the signal space detection to construct a fixed delay tree search (FDTS) detector which estimates a block of n channel symbols at a time. This technique is applicable to high speed implementation. Two approaches are discussed both of which are based on efficient signal space partitioning. In the first approach, symbol detection is performed based on a multi-class partitioning of the signal space. This approach is a generalization of binary symbol detection based on a two-class pattern classification. In the second approach, binary signal detection is combined with a look-ahead technique, resulting in a highly parallel detector architecture.

  • This paper focuses on evaluating the performance of a cellular network using power control based frequency reuse partitioning (FRP) in downlink (DL). In our work, in order to have the realistic environment, the spectral efficiency of the system is evaluated through traffic analysis, which most of the previous works did not consider. To further decrease the cell edge user's outage, the concept of power ratio is introduced and applied to the DL FRP based cellular network. In considering network topology, we first divide the cell coverage area into two regions, the inner and outer regions. We then allocate different sub-bands in the inner and outer regions of each cell. In the analysis, for each zone ratio, the performance of FRP system is evaluated for the given number of power ratios. We consider performance metrics such as call blocking probability, channel utilization, outage probability and effective throughput. The simulation results show that there is a significant improvement in the outage experienced by outer UEs with power control scheme compared to that with no power control scheme and an increase in overall system throughput.

  • In this paper, a novel trellis-coded spatial modulation (TCSM) design method is presented and analyzed. Inspired by the key idea of trellis-coded modulation (TCM), the detailed analysis is firstly provided on the unequal error protection performance of spatial modulation constellation. Subsequently, the Ungerboeck set partitioning rule is proposed and applied to develop a general method to design the novel TCSM schemes. Different from the conventional TCSM approaches, the novel one based on the Ungerboeck set partitioning rule has similar properties as the classic TCM, which has simple but effective code design criteria. Moreover, the novel designed schemes are robust and adaptive to the generalized Rician fading channels, which outperform the traditional TCSM ones. For examples, the novel 4-, 8-, and 16-state TCSM schemes are constructed by employing different transmit antennas and different modulation schemes in different channel conditions. Simulation results clearly demonstrate the advantages of the novel TCSM schemes over the conventional ones.

  • Photodissociation dynamics of allyl alcohol ($H_2C$=CH-$CH_2OH$) has been investigated at 205 - 213 nm along the UV absorption band by measuring rotationally-resolved laser-induced fluorescence spectra of OH radicals. Observed energy partitioning of the available energy among products at all photon energies investigated was similar and the barrier energy for OH production is about 574.7 kJ/mol from the OH yield measurements. The potential energy surfaces for the $S_0$, $T_1$, and $S_1$ excited states along the dissociation coordinate were obtained by ab initio quantum chemical calculations. The observed energy partitioning was successfully modeled by the "barrier-impulsive model" with the reverse barrier and the geometry obtained by the calculated potential energy surfaces. The dissociation takes place on the $T_1$ excited state potential energy surface with an energy barrier in the exit channel and a large portion of the photon energy is distributed in the internal degrees of freedom of the polyatomic products.

  • In this paper, an adaptive neuro-fuzzy filter using the conditional fuzzy c-means(CFCM) methods is proposed. Usualy, the number of fuzzy rules exponentially increases by applying the grid partitioning of the input space, in conventional adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system(ANFIS) approaches. In order to solve this problem, CFCM method is adopted to render the clusters which represent the given input and output data. Parameter identification is performed by hybrid learning using back-propagation algorithm and total least square(TLS) method. Finally, we applied the proposed method to the nonlinear channel equalization problem and obtained a better performance than previous works.
