An ICI Canceling 5G System Receiver for 500km/h Linear Motor Car

  • This paper proposed an Inter-Carrier-Interference (ICI) Canceling Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) receiver for 5G mobile system to support 500 km/h linear motor high speed terrestrial transportation service. A receiver in such high-speed train sees the transmission channel which is composed of multiple Doppler-shifted propagation paths. Then, a loss of sub-carrier orthogonality due to Doppler-spread channels causes ICI. The ICI Canceler is realized by the following three steps. First, using the Demodulation Reference Symbol (DMRS) pilot signals, it analyzes three parameters such as attenuation, relative delay, and Doppler-shift of each multi-path component. Secondly, based on the sets of three parameters, Channel Transfer Function (CTF) of sender sub-carrier number 𝒏 to receiver sub-carrier number 𝒍 is generated. In case of 𝒏≠𝒍, the CTF corresponds to ICI factor. Thirdly, since ICI factor is obtained, by applying ICI reverse operation by Multi-Tap Equalizer, ICI canceling can be realized. ICI canceling performance has been simulated assuming severe channel condition such as 500 km/h, 2 path reverse Doppler Shift for QPSK, 16QAM, 64QAM and 256QAM modulations. In particular, for modulation schemes below 16QAM, we confirmed that the difference between BER in a 2 path reverse Doppler shift environment and stationary environment at a moving speed of 500 km/h was very small when the number of taps in the multi-tap equalizer was set to 31 taps or more. We also confirmed that the BER performance in high-speed mobile communications for multi-level modulation schemes above 64QAM is dramatically improved by the use of a multi-tap equalizer.

A Single Channel Speech Enhancement for Automatic Speech Recognition

  • This paper describes a single channel speech enhancement as the pre-processor of automatic speech recognition system. The improvements are based on using optimally modified log-spectra (OM-LSA) gain function with a non-causal a priori signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) estimation. Experimental results show that the proposed method gives better perceptual evaluation of speech quality score (PESQ) and lower log-spectral distance, and also better word accuracy. In the enhancement system, parameters was turned for automatic speech recognition.

  • 최근 높은 주파수 효율과 주파수 다이버시티 효과의 제공을 가능케 하는 다중 반송파 CDMA (MC-CDMA) 기술은 무선통신에 있어서 점점 더 주목받게 되었다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 C-CDMA시스템에서의 채널 추정을 위한 파일럿 심볼 구조를 제안하고 그에 따른 신호의 보상을 통한 MC-CDMA시스템의 성능향상을 역 방향 링크에 대하여 분석하였다. 먼저 여러 다른 채널을 겪는 각 사용자들의 역 방향 신호에 대하여 파일럿 심볼을 이용한 새로운 채널 추정방법을 제안하고, 추정된 채널을 이용한 MC-CDMA 동기 복조기의 성능을 분석하였다.

  • 본 논문에서는 채널 파라미터 추정을 위해 TD-SCDMA 기지국에 의해 방송되는 파일럿 신호를 이용하기 위한 FIR-Rake 수신기를 개발한다. FIR-Rake 수신기는 이동국에 대한 다중경로 간섭을 완화할 수 있다. 주파수 영역과 이산 영역에서의 해석, 그리고 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션은 제안 FIR-Rake 수신기가 전형적인 다중경로 페이딩 전파 환경에서 더 우수한 성능을 나타내는 것을 확인하였다.

Decision Feedback Equalizer for DS-UWB Systems

  • Direct-sequence ultra-wideband(DS-UWB) system is being considered as one of promising transmission technologies for wireless personal area networks(WPANs). Due to relatively low spreading factors and huge bandwidth of transmit signal, a DS-UWB receiver needs to be equipped not only with a rake receiver but also with an equalizer, of which the equalizer is not required for traditional direct-sequence code division multiple access(DS-CDMA) systems. The number of rake fingers is limited in practice, influencing the performance of the subsequent equalizer. In this paper, we derive a decision feedback equalizer(DFE) for DS-UWB systems based on the minimum mean square error(MMSE) criterion, and investigate the impact of various parameters on the DFE performance in realistic scenarios. In particular, we propose an approach to improving the performance of the DFE using additional channel estimates for multipaths not combined in the rake receiver, and discuss how the accuracy of channel estimation affects desirable DFE configuration. Moreover, we present simulation results that show the impact of turbo equalization on the DFE performance.

  • 하천에서 토사 유실량을 정확하게 예측하는 것은 유량을 예측하는 것만큼 공학적으로 중요한 의미를 지니고 있다. 하천에서 발생하는 토양 유실량은 하천구역내의 수리구조물(댐, 웨어, 방조제 등)의 설계 및 유지관리, 하천개수 및 하도의 안정, 홍수터 관리, 저수지의 설계 및 운영, 항만계획 등 수자원 및 수질의 계획이나 관리에 반드시 고려해야 할 사항이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 토사 유실량 산정에 가장 일반적으로 쓰이는 RUSLE식을 이용하여 삽교호 유역의 토사 유실량을 모의, 산정하였다. RUSLE식의 매개변수 산정은 GIS 주제도인 경사도와 토지이용도, 토양도로부터 추출, 산정하였으며 이를 작성한 RUSLE 산정프로그램에 적용하였다. 또한 최근 30년치의 유역 강우자료를 바탕으로 빈도별 확률강우량을 산정하여 빈도별 확률강우에 따른 토사 유실량을 산정하였다.

Preliminary Orbit Determination For A Small Satellite Mission Using GPS Receiver Data

  • The deviations in the injection orbital parameters, resulting from launcher dispersions, need to be estimated and used for autonomous satellite operations. For the proposed small satellite mission of the university there will be two GPS receivers onboard the satellite to provide the instantaneous orbital state to the onboard data handling system. In order to meet the power requirements, the satellite will be sun-tracking whenever there is no imaging operation. For imaging activities, the satellite will be maneuvered to nadir-pointing mode. Due to such different modes of orientation the geometry for the GPS receivers will not be favorable at all times and there will be instances of poor geometry resulting in no output from the GPS receivers. Onboard the satellite, the orbital information should be continuously available for autonomous switching on/off of various subsystems. The paper presents the strategies to make use of small arcs of data from GPS receivers to compute the mean orbital parameters and use the updated orbital parameters to calculate the position and velocity whenever the same is not available from GPS receiver. Thus the navigation message from the GPS receiver, namely the position vector in Earth-Centered-Earth-Fixed (ECEF) frame, is used as measurements. As for estimation, two techniques - (1) batch least squares method, and (2) Kalman Filter method are used for orbit estimation (in real time). The performance of the onboard orbit estimation has been assessed based on hardware based multi-channel GPS Signal simulator. The results indicate good converge even with short arcs of data as the GPS navigation data are generally very accurate and the data rate is also fast (typically 1Hz).

자연하천에 대한 Muskingum-Cunge 모형의 매개변수 산정 (Estimation of Muskingum-Cunge Parameters for Natural Streams)

  • 하도의 횡단 및 종단 지형자료와 조도계수를 이용하여 자연하천에 대한 Muskingum-Cunge 모형의 매개변수들을 추정하는 방법을 제안하였다. 우선 각 단면에서의 다양한 수위에 대하여 통수단면 및 동수반경을 계산한 후, Manning 공식을 이용하여 유량을 산정한다. 이러한 과정은 하도에서의 모든 단면에 대하여 반복되며, 최종적으로 통수단면과 유량을 통한 회귀 분석에 의하여 매개변수들을 추정한다. 이와 같은 Muskingum-Cunge 모형의 매개변수 추정과정을 남한강 구간에 적용하였다. 추정된 매개변수들을 사용한 Muskingum-Cunge 모형의 계산결과는 무차원 RMS 오차, 첨두유량의 크기 및 발생시각 등 모든 면에서 HEC-1의 Muskingum-Cunge 모형에 비하여 동역학적 모형의 계산결과와 잘 일치하는 것으로 나타났다.

  • In general, the state of system can be effected by external noise and observed only through a noisy channel. Therefore we use the estimation technigue for the information of state of the system effected by noise. There are many filters such as kalman-Buchy filter, kalman filter, Extended Kalman filter algorithm, cononlinear, extended Kalman filter algorithm to the estimation of parameters is very useful and has a long history. Also a considerable number of applications of this method has been reported. In this paper, the robot control system is treated in stochastic optimal control because of the robots doing a complicated and accurate task in inapproate environment. We have conclusion that error covariance is converged and the stability of filtering is obtained.

Position Location of Mobile Terminal in Wireless MIMO Communication Systems

  • A promising approach to improve the performance of mobile location system is the use of antenna arrays in both transmitter and receiver sides. Using advanced array signal processing techniques, such multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) communication systems can offer more mobile location information by exploiting the spatial properties of the multipath channel. In this paper, we propose a novel approach to determine the position of mobile terminal based on estimated multipath signal parameters using only one base station in MIMO communication systems. This approach intends to minimize the error occurring from the estimation of multiple paths and gives an optimal estimation of the position of mobile terminal by simultaneously calculating a set of nonlinear location equations. This solution breaks the bottleneck of conventional mobile location systems which have to require multilateration of at least three base stations.
