This study aimed to examine first graders' recognition and thinking about mathematical patterns. To attain the goal, this paper analyzed 116 students' response with regard to repeating, growing, and changing patterns represented in both picture and number, and also analyzed four students' thinking process of the patterns through interview. It was found that students showed high recognition in repeating, growing, and changing patterns in order. Whereas there was no significant difference between picture and number representation in both repeating and growing patterns, pictures gained a bit higher scores than numbers in changing patterns. Also, according to the result of examining the thinking process by the patterns, students tended to consider the patterns as a bundle and tried to solve problems with counting strategies. The result of this paper provides an empirical foundation on how first graders recognize and think of various patterns.

The purpose of this study was a motion analysis of proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation patterns which is scapular and pelvis patterns, upper extremity patterns, lower extremity patterns, trunk patterns. The patterns combine motion in sagittal plane for flextion and extension, coronal or frontal plane for abduction and adduction, transverse plane for rotation. The patterns composed of mass movement pattern of the limbs and trunk muscles. Every pattern can change by changing the activity of the middle joint in the extremity patterns and changing the patient's positions.

We investigated the breakdown patterns of silica glass under the various impacts by forensic scientific analysis. The impacts were chosen by thermal and projectiles impact stress. Thermal impacts under the fire were constructed by changing the position of the flame with gas torches. Physical impacts were constructed with the projectiles of slingshots and rifles by changing the size of the projectiles at the surfaces and the initial distance. Also we identified incident angles of the projectiles by analysis of the punching portion at the glass surface. Under the thermal impacts, the breakdown patterns were various by changing the position of the flame. Especially, the configuration of breakdown patterns had radial shape with the position of the flame at the center of the glass sheet. Under the physical impacts by the projectiles, the breakdown patterns had always radial shape.

We propose dynamic file allocation method in distributed database management system with changing access patterns. There are a lot of studies on file allocation problem in D-DBMS, and those studies deal with off-line analysis and optimization. Those works are well for systems with static database access patterns, but are inadequate for systems that have changing access patterns. In these systems, dynamic file allocation along with access pattern is more proper. In advance, Brunstrom et al. studied on this area, but they dealt a extremely simplified model. So, we make more practical models to simulate real system. In these models, many factors that were disregard in the advance study are considered. These models are composed with the non-replication system and the replication system. In addition to, we deal with CPU workload balancing in such system in order to improve performance of systems. Our methodology is very simple and realistic, therefore we think that it will give a lot of improvement in D-DBMS with changing access pattern.

This paper aims to analyze the accident based on changing patterns of traffic culture index. For this purpose, this paper particularly focuses on classifying the traffic culture patterns and developing the traffic accidents using panel count data model. The main results are as follows. First, the traffic culture patterns are divided into 'increasing', 'decreasing' and 'other' patterns. The null hypotheses that the number of accident are the same over patterns are rejected. Second, 4 fixed effect negative binomial models which are all statistically significant are developed. Third, the regions with 'increasing' pattern are analyzed to be mostly the counties, and to demand the traffic law enforcement. Fourth, the regions with 'decreasing' pattern are evaluated to be mainly the districts and to require such the traffic culture as turn signal usage. Finally, the regions with 'other' pattern are analyzed to be mostly the cities and to ask for enhancing the level of traffic culture.

This paper proposes a digital forensic method by an evaluation function based on timestamp changing patterns. Operations on file or folder leave changed timestamps, which give the ways to know what operations were executed. Changes of timestamps of ten operations of a file and eight operations of a folder were examined. Analyses on the changes on the eight folder operations are newly added in this paper, which are not performed in the previous works. Based on the timestamps changes of the file and the folder, two evaluation functions are proposed. The first evaluation function checks whether timestamps are changed by file and folder operations, and the second evaluation function checks whether timestamps are originated from a source file or other attribute field. By the two output values from these evaluation functions, a digital forensic investigation on the file or the folder is performed. With some cases, i. e. file copy and folder creation operations, the proposed forensic method is tested for its usefulness.

This study analyzes the effects of population growth, urbanization and industrialization on the environmental deterioration. In doing this, this study illustrates the changing patterns of population growth, urbanization and industrialization. This study also shows the changing patterns of environmental conditions, focusing on air pollution, water pollution and wastes. Finally, this study deals with the consequences of the environmental deterioration, especially focusing on the changing quality of life in Korea.

Now in the 21st century, all the industries in our world are rapidly changing, including fashion trends and customers' needs as well. Fashion textile planning is also developing towards the direction where it could satisfy the merged sensitivity and incentive of the customers through an idea. The purpose of this study is to accentuate the importance of fashion material planning in fitting conventional patterns and eco-benign fabric materials. Accordingly, this study is mainly focused on the reflection of fabric planning characteristics to show tradition containing comfort and naturalness. As mixing with established fabrics and blending with natural/functional fabrics, and conforming to the trend of the seasonal fabric, it has developed a new structure and pattern by changing the basic source of traditional patterns to a computer aided design system. Therefore, four different types of items were basically up-graded by fitting it in with traditional patterns.
