Objectives : The purpose of this study is comparison of clinical treatment outcome between oriental medicine group and oriental-western medicine group about Bell's palsy. Methods : We measured the facial palsy changes of the patients who were admitted for Bell's palsy in the Oriental Medical hospital of Dong-eui medical center from 07-01-2003 to 07-12-2004. Bell's palsy patients were divided into two groups. One group(A group) was treated by Oriental medicine treatment. The other group(B group) was treated by Oriental-Western medicine treatment. The effects of these treatment was evaluated by Yanagihara's unweighted grading system. Results : B group was marked more higher than A group in treatment outcome. We discovered that it is significant differences between two groups after 1 week and after 2 week in treatment stage. Conclusion : These results provided that B group was more effective than A group in treatment of Bell's palsy. For clearly comparing the effect of Oriental medicine treatment and Oriental-Western medicine treatment on Bell's palsy, more numbers of sample and longer duration of treatment are needed.

Objective : The purpose of this study was to evidence the effect of Dong-Shi Acupuncture by improving degree of forty four patients who have received a Dong-Shi Acupuncture therapy at Dong Eui oriental hospital OPD and chiefly complained for neck pain and related symptoms. Materials and Methods: Forty four patients were diagnosed with physical inspection and radiography, and investigated into the effect of treatment sharing before treatment and after 2 weeks and 4 weeks treatment by Dr. Kim's method. Results and Conclusions: The conclusion of this study was that improving degree of forty four patients who have received a Dong-Shi acupuncture therapy for all items and excellence of the Dong-Shi Acupuncture was evidenced.

Seo Dai-chun emphasized the importance of attack on the miasma and created a school to follow classical medical books such as "Nai Kyung"and "Sang Han Ron". Intimate connection between the theory and clinical experience was an unique feature and future generation including Chin Su-won and Wang Tai-lim were deeply influenced. His medical theology and medical case is presented in "Eui Hak Won Ryu Ron"and "Hoi Kye Eui An".

The present study was carried out to determine if Scutellaria balicalensis Georgi. extract (SBGE) exerts beneficial effect against the renal failure in rabbits. Rabbits were pretreated with SBGE orally for 7 days, followed by cisplatin injection (5 mg/kg, i.p.), cisplatin injection caused an increase in serum creatinine level, which was accompanied by a reduction in GFR. The fractional excretion of Na+, K+, glucose, and phosphate increased in cisplatin-treated animals, which was prevented by SBGE pretreatment. The uptake of p-aminohippurate, an organic anion, in renal cortical slices was inhibited by the administration of cisplatin, and the effect was prevented by SBGE. cisplatin injection increased lipid peroxidation, which was prevented by SBGE pretreatment. These results indicate that lipid peroxidation plays a critical role in cisplatin-induced acute renal failure. SBGE exerts the protective effect against acute renal failure induced by cisplatin, and its effect may be attributed to an antioxidant action.

본 연구는 다결정 알루미나 소결체와 사파이어웨이퍼(sapphire wafer)의 견고한 접합을 위해 활성금속 Ti가 함유된 Active Filler Metal을 사용하였고, 이를 브레이징한 후 접합 반응층과 Ti 거동 특성에 관한 것이다. 브레이징 (brazing)은 Ar 분위기 종에 $850^{\circ}C$에서 이행하였으며. 이때 다결정 알루미나, 사파이어와 Active Filler Metal 사이의 접합 반응층을 확인하였다. Active Filler Metal 내어| 존재하는 Ti가 접할 반응층의 양계면에 집중되는 것을 SEM을 이용하여 확인하였다. 또한 EDS Line Scanning을 실시하여 접합부에서 원소들의 분포를 관찰하였다.

The car design has changed a lot over the past 100 years, but the side mirrors have not changed. It is not right in the fourth round of the Industrial Revolution. It is also an analog format, which has many disadvantages. Accordingly, by replacing the side mirror to the camera to change the digital it was improve the limitations and disadvantages of the 'mirror' with. It also has additional benefits such as fuel savings of 5 to 10 percent per year and automatic detection of threats. In this project, we used Razberry pie, which is highly compatible, as a main board, and connected infrared distance sensor and monitor module to focus on automatic threat detection.

This study was performed to determine if Juglandis semen extract(JSE) has free radical scavenging and antioxidant activities. Superoxide anion generation by xanthine oxidase/xanthine and in neutrophils activated by phorbol-12, 13-dibutyrate was inhibited by JSE and its effect was dose-dependent. JSE also inhibited generation of $H_2O_2$ induced by glucose oxidase/glucose and in opossum kidney cells treated with antimycin A. JSE exerted a direct $H_2O_2$ scavenging effect. Exposure of opossum kidney cells to 1mM tBHP caused a significant increase in lipid peroxidation, which was prevented by JSE. JSE also prevented tBHP-induced LDH release. These data suggest that JSE has free radical scavenging and antioxidant activities. However, further studies should be carried out to find the active ingredient(s) of JSE that exerts radical scavenging action.

Objective : This study was undertaken to determine the inhibitory effect of Whallak-tang against Nitric Oxide, the scavenging effect of Whallak-tang on DPPH radical. Methods : Both nitric concentration 1, 3, 6 and 24 hours after treatment with Vit. C and Whallak-tang at 0.1, 1, 10 mg/ml and scavenging effect 10, 20, 30 and 60 minute after treatment with Vit. C and Whallak-tang at 0.1, 1, 10 mg/ml were estimated. Results : The inhibitory effect of Whallak-tang against Nitric Oxide was dose-dependent. The scavenging effect of Whallak-tang on DPPH radical was dose-dependent. Conclusion : These results would provide important basic data on the possibility of the clinical treatment of Whallak-tang in musculoskeletal disease.

Myun Bok originated in China was introduced into Korea in ancient times. Some evidences show that it had settlled down as our own official robe already under Koryo Dynasty. And Koryo made her own regulations on Myun Bok. Kook Cho O Rye Eui(國朝五禮儀) of Choson Dynasty has comparatively detailed explanations on the way of cutting and shapes and materials. And the regulations are modeled after those of Ming China. But it has been impossible to know whether the regulations of Kook Cho O Rye Eui were strictly kept or not, because we have not enough remains through which to see it. And then we got very useful materials, Eui kue(儀軌), which are well known but have not been used in studying the history of costumes. Every Kook Chang Do Gam Eui Gue(國葬都監儀軌) have the provision of the so-called Pok Wan(服玩) set which includes the imitations or the full set of Myun Bok. And the provisions show us the illustrations colored in detail which help us understand the real shapes and the transformations of Myun Bok. After surveying the Pok wan provisions, author arrived at conclusions as follow; 1) Myun Boks are not always made in the same shape and colors. 2) The Provisions of Kook Cho O Rye Eui were not always kept strictly due to the lack of detailed directions.

A 72 year-old male patient with Pneumonia and Cerebral infarction was treated. He was suffering from cough, sputum, fever, decreased mentality and dyspepsia. His symtoms were diagnosed as damp and phlegm of the Spleen and the Stomach, and he administered Hwajung-Tang(和中湯). After 23 days, clinical symptoms of Pneumonia had improved. Results of Chest PA and CBC profile also showed improvement. These results support a role for oriental medicine treatment in the treatment of elderly patients with Pneumonia.
