  • In this paper, a new sliding mode observer is proposed by introducing a new sliding surface. The new sliding surface is defined based on the augmented error system with virtual error state. The new sliding mode observer have more degree of freedom than the existing VSS observer. It can have dynamics on the sliding surface.

  • In this paper, we studied on the real-time environment map building for the mobile robot navigation using the stereo camera system. Distance measurement are necessary to build the environment map. We used a area-based stereo matching for the distance measurement with the stereo camera system. To reduce the computation time, we used DSP processor on the vision board, took a suitable area size for stereo matching, and used hierarchical search method. Using the fast acquired distance values, the environment map was built.

  • Nowadays DC-DC converter has been used widely in electronic production. It has a high requirement in wide input voltage, load variations, stability, providing a fast transient response and the most important thing is that it can be applied easily and efficiently. However, it is not easy to be controlled because of nonlinear system. This study introduces a fuzzy linear control design method for nonlinear systems with optimal $H^{\infty}$ robustness performance. First, the Takagi and Sugeno fuzzy linear model is employed to approximate a nonlinear system. Next, based on the fuzzy linear model, a fuzzy controller is developed to stabilize the nonlinear system, and at the same time the effect of external disturbance on control performance is attenuated to a minimum level. Thus based on the fuzzy linear model, ��$H^{\infty}$ performance design can be achieved in nonlinear control systems. Linear matrix inequality (LMI) techniques are employed to solve this robust fuzzy control problem. PI control structure is used and the control gains are determined based on $H^{\infty}$ control.

  • This paper deals with 2D and 3D analyses by finite element method for the characteristics of reluctance type transverse flux linear motor. Although 3D analysis is essential because of the characteristics by flux direction. 2D analyses are also used by considering the effective axial length and using the equivalent reluctance 2D model. The thrust, the normal force and the coenergy of the machine are calculated and compared by the results of the three analysis methods.

  • In this paper, optimum shape design of permanent magnet in slotted type Permanent Magnet Linear Synchronous Motor(PMLSM) is progressed for minimization of detent force owing to structure of slot-teeth and thrust ripple by harmonic magnetic flux of permanent magnet. The characteristics of thrust and detent force computed by Finite element Analysis are acquired equal effect both skewed basic model and optimum model which is optimization of permanent magnet shape.

  • This paper is deal with the method of redesign for optimum thrust model using Neural-Networks in Permanent Magnet Linear Synchrous Motor(PMLSM). This method is saved time compared with design method using only Finite Element Method(FEM). In this paper data sets for training Neural-Networks obtained using 2D FEM. To confirm the validity of the data sets for training Neural-Networks optimum values of that Is compared with results of FEM. And then. this method is verified that it could be applied to the design for Slotless type PMLSM.

  • In this paper, thrust ripple is minimized using notch and slot-aperture width adjustment in a slotted PMLSM and then optimal design was achieved by using a neural network. This paper has used the moving model node technique to reduce the time and the effort for calculation according to changing design parameters. As the result, the detent force of optimal model is decreased from 9.44[N] to 0.97[N] greatly compare with it of basic model. The thrust is decreased 1.3[%] from 342.07[N] to 337.48[N] a little.

  • This paper presents the d-q axis inductances calculations method of Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor(IPMSM) by using Finite Element(FE) analysis. The inductances of d-q axis in IPMSM, which is the function of current magnitude and phase angle are computed by energy dual method. The appropriateness of the proposed FE analysis has been verified by comparing with experimental results.
