  • Korean rivers and their surrounding environments have been used excessively for rice production in the past and more recently for construction of urban areas to accomodate the rapidly increasing population. Affected Korean rivers experience dramatic fluctuations in their water levels and have faster currents compared with those in other countries. In order to restore more natural conditions in rivers experiencing such conditions, we employed a partial restoration method, which is designed to achieve physical and biological stability simultaneously. Concrete blocks were introduced to increase the river's physical stability during floods, and terra cottem, a soil enhancer, was used to reduce water loss due to intense heat. These interventions increased the river's ability to hold water and thereby promoted plant growth. This restoration method increased vegetation coverage and species diversity in treated areas, and changed the species composition in treated areas to more closely approximate that of the control site. These results suggest that this method is effective in restoring damaged habitats to more natural conditions.

  • Background The Saam's Acupuncture Method is one of the most widely adopted techniques used by clinicians and educational institutions in Korea today. It is originated in the 17th century from a Buddhist monk known as 'Saam'. The reports on the bibliography. biological responses and therapeutic effects of Saam's Acupuncture method were done but trends on the Saam's Acupuncture method were insufficient. Objectives This study aims to review the bibliography, biological responses and therapeutic effects of Saam's Acupuncture. In the process, this review will grasp trends in this field of studies and will direct further researches into the right direction. Method We searched and investigated th journals supplied by Korean Oriental Medical Society and Je-Han Oriental Medical Academy homepage etc. with the key world 'Saam(사암), jung-geuk(정격), seung-gyuk(승격), han-geuk(한격), yul-geuk(열격)'. Fifty journals were chosen for the review. Result 1. The proportion of basic researches was 10%. The biological responses of Saam's Acupuncture method reveal on blood pressure, regional cerebral blood flow (rCBF). 2. The proportion of literature researches was 48%. The application of Saam's Acupuncture method was many. 3. The proportion of case reports was 26%. Saam's Acupuncture method is applied in the various disease. 4. The proportion of clinical studies was 16%. Clinical studies were increased after the year 2000. Conclusions To elevated quality of studies, we need well-designed experimental methods, efficient secure of experimental groups, appropriate statistical verification, accumulations of knowledges about data research.

  • Nowadays Perovskite $La_{1-x}Sr_xCoO_3$ is a preferred cathode material in the construction Solid Oxide Fuel Cell (SOFC). The $La_{1-x}Sr_xCoO_3$ with Sr contents ranging from X=0.0 to X=1.0 were prepared by a citrate method. All samples were examined by X-ray powder diffraction. The samples used for measuring thermal expansion were prepared as pellets by cold pressing and subsequent sintering in air at $1200^{\circ}C$ for 5 hours. To measure the sub-product of $La_{1-x}Sr_xCoO_3$ with YSZ, where coating films were sintered at $1200^{\circ}C$ for 5 hour.

  • Transient aerodynamic response of an airfoil to a moving plane-flap is numerically investigated using the two-dimensional Euler equations with conservative Chimera grid method. A body moving relative to a stationary grid is treated by an overset grid bounded by a 'Dynamic Domain Dividing Line' which has an advantage for constructing a well-defined hole-cutting boundary. A conservative Chimera grid method with the dynamic domain-dividing line technique is applied and validated by solving the flowfield around a circular cylinder moving supersonic speed. The unsteady and transient characteristics of the flow solver are also examined by computations of an oscillating airfoil and a ramp pitching airfoil respectively. The transient aerodynamic behavior of an airfoil with a moving plane-flap is analyzed for various flow conditions such as deflecting rate of flap and free stream Mach number.

  • The adsorption and desorption behavior of orgnaic gases were investigated using the resonant frequency and admittance method. Sensitive material were depositied on the quartz crystal microbalence by using Langmuir-Blodgett method. To investigate the response characteristics of organic gases, Resonant frequency-Resonant admittance (F-A) diagram was used. The quantity and quality information about organic gases can be obtained by that diagram. As a results, when the organic gases were adsorpted into sensitive material, the physical property changees of sensitive material were occured.

  • This study is to solve the public education's dilemma between the standardized education to maximize learning efficiency and the personalized education to maximize learning effectiveness, using the paradox management process. The process is based on combining the TOC (Theory Of Constraints) and TRIZ (Russian Theory of Inventive Problem Solving), which is a creative way of thinking to draw the synergic effect by pursuing simultaneously the conflicting elements. Through this research, a new concept of learning method can be suggested on a public course. Further research should be performed to develop a learning guideline based on the students' empirical study results.

  • A ferrite bonded magnet type brushless DC (BLDC) motor which do not have rotor core is analyzed by using finite element method (FEM). The magnetization distribution of the magnet does not have only parallel or radial direction. So, the direction and intensity are taken into account by the analysis of the magnetization procedure. The validity of the analysis method is verified by comparing the analyzed results with measured ones.

  • Since the marking robot draws lines by point-to-point operation, the robot's shifting path greatly affects the working time and productivity. Therefore, it is required to analyze the movement method based on the robot's motion and plan to minimize the movement time. Therefore, this study proposes a method that can optimize the robot's shifting path to minimize the working time of the marking robot. Through the results of this study, it is expected that the non-working time of the marking robot will be reduced and the efficient operation will be possible.

  • We have synthesized SrS:Eu red phosphor by solid state method and investigated to adopt a red phosphor for LEDs. The SrS:Eu phosphor shows broad emission band at 600nm region due to f-d energy transfer of $Eu^{2{\cdot}}$. Our results show that the SrS:Eu red phosphor exhibits the better luminescence efficiency than that of the industrially available product SrS:Eu phosphor.

  • In this study the bonding quality evaluation of FRP honeycomb structure was performed by the ultrasonic C-Scan method and stress wave factor measurements. These NDT techniques could be well applied to the disbonding detection of FRP honeycomb structures. Especially, stress wave factor (SWF) measurement is expected to be a useful technique in field applications.
