상악 중절치 삭제 시 수복 디자인과 변연부 위치에 따른 부피 변화 (Volume difference in upper central incisor preparation according to the changes of restorative design and marginal location)

  • 연구 목적: 상악 중절치에 여러 가지 수복물 설계와 변연부 위치를 설정하여 치아 삭제를 하였을 때 나타나는 치아 삭제량의 변화를 평가하기 위함이다. 연구 재료 및 방법: 36개의 상악 중절치 레진 인공치가 실험에 사용되었다. 수복물의 디자인에 따라 이들은 4개의 군으로 나뉘었다. 그리고 각각의 군은 다시 변연부의 위치에 따라 3개의 세부 군으로 나뉘었다. 삭제되지 않은 치아의 부피가 미세단층촬영을 이용해 측정되었고 같은 방법으로 삭제 후의 치아의 부피가 측정되었다. 이 측정된 영상들을 서로 겹쳐서 비교함으로 삭제 전과 후의 부피 변화를 알아보았다. 결과: 수복물 설계에 따른 삭제 전과 후의 부피 변화량은 다음과 같은 순서로 변화량의 차이를 보였다: traditional laminate veneer < full laminate veneer < all ceramic crown < metal ceramic crown. One-Way ANOVA와 다중비교 Tukey로 유의수준5%에서 통계 분석한 결과 각각의 군에서는 다음과 같은 순서로 변화량의 차이를 보였다: CEJ 1 mm 상방 < CEJ < CEJ 1 mm 하방 (P<.05). 부피 변화를 백분율로 나타낸 수치를 보면 all ceramic crown과 metal ceramic crown 에서는 31 - 48% 로 나타났고 laminate veneer에서는 14 - 30%로나타났다. Laminate veneer에서 나타난 부피 변화량은 metal ceramic crown의 1/3로 나타났다. The full laminate (CEJ 1 mm 하방)와 all ceramic crown (CEJ 1 mm 상방)는 유사한 부피 변화를 보였다. Metal ceramic crown은 all ceramic crown과 비교하였을 때 13.7% 더 많은 부피 변화를 보였다. 결론: 수복물의 설계와 변연부 위치의 변화에 따라 부피 변화의 차이가 존재한다.

X-ray Diffraction Analysis of Residual Stress in Laminated Ceramic

  • The strength of ceramic was improved by lamination by suppressing the propagation of cracks with compressive residual stress in the face layer of the laminate. Hot pressed SiAlON+SiC/SiC/SiAlON+SiC laminate discs were fabricated for tailored residual stress. The residual stress in this laminate was studied by X-ray diffraction (XRD). There was considerable compressive residual stress in the face layer. A Finite Element Analysis (FEA) was performed to support the measured XRD results and to determine the stress field in the laminate. The residual stress measured by XRD had satisfactory agreement with the analytically calculated and FEA values. The measured value by XRD was -385 ${\pm}$ 20 MPa over most of the face layer. The calculated and FEA values were -386 MPa and -371MPa, respectively. FEA also showed significantly modified stresses and the maximum tensile stress near the edge region which are possible crack generators in the presence of flaws or contact damage.

  • Multi-layered laminate made of ceramic/composite have been developed to prevent penetration by high velocity impact. In this study, three-layered plates consisted of 1) cover layer (glass fiber reinforced polymer), 2) $Al_{2}O_{3}$, ceramic plate, and 3) backing plate (glass fiber reinforced polymer) were fabricated with various conditions and tested for their ballistic protection characteristic. The ceramic composite laminates, with thin backing plate, were completely penetrated by armor piercing projectile. The plate with inserted rubber between ceramic and backing plate showed excellent ballistic protection, though completely penetrated by the second shoot.

Pressable Ceramic을 이용한 전치부 Spacing의 무삭제 심미보철수복

  • The spaced dentition is a common clinical finding. The careful analysis of clinically spaced dentition is a necessity for effective treatment planning. Spaced dentition often exists in the presence of intact teeth. Therefore, special care should be taken in order to obtain the most successful esthetic effect and to prevent overtreatment as well. The aesthetic restorative dental treatment using the porcelain laminate veneers is getting more popular than the complex orthodontic treatment, and prosthetic solutions that require sacrifice of sound tooth structure. The physical strength of porcelain laminate veneers is not as good as porcelain fused metal crowns, and more researches are needed in the field of bonding between composite cement and porcelain laminate veneer. However, the esthetic results from this unprepared porcelain laminate veneers were satisfactory with Authentic (Ceramay, Germany) pressable ceramic technique and resin cement (Rely X Veneer, 3M). This article deals with 2 cases of unprepared porcelain laminate veneers on anterior teeth.

  • Purpose: This study aimed to observe the effect of laminate veneer on patient's teeth based on the manufacturing of laminate veneer restorations, which are produced by fabricating a ceramic cast body using IPS Empress, a pressure casting method and then forming the veneer by layering. Subsequently, we assessed the potential of its clinical application. Methods: This study discusses and preserves various treatment plans, such as diagnostic wax-up and treatment room diagnosis, for patients who visit the hospital to improve the appearance of teeth due to diastema of maxillary teeth, inexperienced resin filling, lack of esthetics, and external teeth. A ceramic cast body is constructed using IPS Empress, which is an effective and aesthetic restoration pressure casting method to restore the veneer with a laminate made by layering. Results: Compared with the preoperative state, the frontal view of the patient after the final restoration showed the formation of a natural smile line; the space between the central and lateral incisors was filled in synchronously with the adjacent teeth. In addition, the emergence profile is maintained by reducing the over-contour as much as possible. Conclusion: The patient's quality of life is improved by providing them with a satisfactory natural smile.

  • The piezoelectric energy harvesting characteristics of a trapezoidal cantilever generator with lead zirconate titanate (PZT) laminate were investigated with various Ag inner electrodes. The piezoelectric mode of operation was a transverse mode by using a planar electrode pattern. The piezoelectric cantilever generator was fabricated using trapezoidal cofired-PZT/Ag laminates by five specimens of 2, 3, 4, 7, and 13 layers of Ag. As the number of Ag electrodes increased, impedance and output voltage at resonant frequency significantly decreased, and capacitance and output current showed an increasing tendency. A maximum output power density of $7.60mW/cm^3$ was realized for the specimen with seven Ag layers in the optimal condition of acceleration (1.2 g) and resistive load ($600{\Omega}$), which corresponds to a normalized power factor of $5.28mW/g^2{\cdot}cm^3$.

  • 결손된 치질과 변색된 법랑질을 수복하기 위해 많은 재료와 술식이 개발되어왔다. 즉 silicate cement, PMMA resin, BISGMA composite resin, glass ionomer cement, porcelain등이 이용되어 왔으나 이것들은 biocompatible하지 않아 이상적인 재료는 아니다. 따라서 인간의 결손된 enamel을 수복할 수 있는 새로운 생역학적인 재료가 필요하게 되었다. 필자는 최근 관심의 대상이 되고 있는 porcelain laminate veneer system(층상 도재 전장관)에 관하여 문헌을 중심으로 고찰해 보고자 한다(국내에서는 장완식 교수께서 1987년 6월10일 보철학교실 세미나에서 video tape를 통해 소개한바 있음). 여기서는 Hobo, Iwata(1985)등이 소개한 castable apatite ceramic material을 이용한 laminate veneer술식에 관해 기술하고 내화성 모형(refractory cast)을 이용한 laminate술식과 비교 기술하고자 한다.

PZT 라미네이트 Trapezoidal Piezoelectric Cantilever Generator의 모드(3-1, 3-3)별 에너지 하베스팅 특성 비교 (Comparison of Energy Harvesting Characteristics in Trapezoidal Piezoelectric Cantilever Generator with PZT Laminate Film by Longitudinal (3-3) Mode and Transverse (3-1) Mode)

  • Energy harvesting characteristics of trapezoidal piezoelectric cantilever generator, which has a lead zirconate titanate (PZT) laminate film, were compared by longitudinal (3-3) and transverse (3-1) modes. The PZT laminate film, fabricated by a conventional tape casting process, was cofired with Ag electrode at $850^{\circ}C$ for 2 h. A multi-layered Ag electrode by a planar pattern and an interdigitated pattern was applied to the PZT laminate to implement the 3-3 and 3-1 modes, respectively. The energy harvesting performance of the 3-3 mode trapezoidal piezoelectric cantilever generator was better than that of the 3-1 mode. An extremely high output power density of $26.7mW/cm^3$ for the 3-3 mode was obtained at a resonant frequency of 145 Hz under a load resistance of $50{\Omega}$ and acceleration of 1.3 G, which is ~3-times higher than that for the 3-1 mode. Therefore, the 3-3 mode is considered significantly efficient for application to high-performance piezoelectric cantilever generator.

Fabrication of a Complex-Shaped Silicon Nitride Part with Aligned Whisker Seeds Using LOM Technique

  • A complex-shaped part was successfully fabricated by Laminate Object Manufacturing (LOM) technique using silicon nitride tape with aligned silicon nitride whisker seeds. The ceramic tape was cut using a commercial cutting plotter according to the cross section drafts generated by slicing a 3-D model, and then the tapes were stacked sequentially. In order to improve adhesion between the tapes, stacking was performed under vacuum. After binder burnout, the part was encapsulated using latex emulsion and was cold isostaically pressed under 250 ㎫. It was sintered to 98.5% TD at 2148 K for 4 h under 2 ㎫ nitrogen pressure.
