Preliminary Report of Validity for the Infant Comprehensive Evaluation for Neurodevelopmental Delay, a Newly Developed Inventory for Children Aged 12 to 71 Months

  • Objectives: Early detection of developmental issues in infants and necessary intervention are important. To identify the comorbid conditions, a comprehensive evaluation is required. The study's objectives were to 1) generate scale items by identifying and eliciting concepts relevant to young children (12-71 months) with developmental delays, 2) develop a comprehensive screening tool for developmental delay and comorbid conditions, and 3) assess the tool's validity and cut-off. Methods: Multidisciplinary experts devised the "Infant Comprehensive Evaluation for Neurodevelopmental Delay (ICEND)," an assessment method that comes in two versions depending on the age of the child: 12-36 months and 37-71 months, through monthly seminars and focused group interviews. The ICEND is composed of three parts: risk factors, resilience factors, and clinical scales. In parts 1 and 2, there were 41 caretakers responded to the questionnaires. Part 3 involved clinicians evaluating ten subscales using 98 and 114 questionnaires for younger and older versions, respectively. The Child Behavior Checklist, Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire, Infant-Toddler Social Emotional Assessment, and Korean Developmental Screening Test for Infants and Children were employed to analyze concurrent validity with the ICEND. The analyses were performed on both typical and high-risk infants to identify concurrent validity, reliability, and cut-off scores. Results: A total of 296 people participated in the study, with 57 of them being high-risk (19.2%). The Cronbach's alpha was positive (0.533-0.928). In the majority of domains, the ICEND demonstrated a fair discriminatory ability, with a sensitivity of 0.5-0.7 and specificity 0.7-0.9. Conclusion: The ICEND is reliable and valid, indicating its potential as an auxiliary tool for assessing neurodevelopmental delay and comorbid conditions in children aged 12-36 months and 37-71 months.

고속도로 절·성토 비탈면 녹화 공법의 적용 실태 연구 (An Analytical Study on the Revegetation Methods for Highway Slopes)

  • A variety of revegetation methods are being utilized and developed. However, most of revegetation methods used on highway slopes in Korea are based on foreign-introduced plant varieties to stabilize road surfaces and to administer afforestation for surface covering at an earlier phase. Therefore. it results in various problems. such as failure to achieve harmony with the surrounding vegetation and 10 cause re-denudation of slopes as the foreign-in introduced plant varieties wane out from 2~3 years after hydro-seeding, etc. In addition, some of the revegetation plants seeded in the earlier phase grow excessively high, thus causes successional problems, such as to inhibit the invasion of the secondary vegetation from the surrounding areas, etc. Therefore, in this study, 160 slopes located in the nationwide express highways have been investigated and analyzed in order to produce basic data for restoration of ecological environment in slopes created on a long-term basis by investigating and analyzing locational characteristics of cut and filled slopes in express highways, status of revegetation methods, characteristics of soil and plant-ecological environment. 1. Investigation on cut and embanked slopes in express highways was carried out in the total of 160 locations, which include 108 cut slopes and 52 embanked slopes. As a whole, the most frequently used revegetation method was seed spray, which was found to be used in the total of 55 target slops investigated. 2. Planting method of Wistaria floribunda applied to some of the blasted rock zones was found to cause damages as Wistaria floribunda trailed up the surrounding vegetation and the secondary invaded trees. In order to prevent this, this method must be used only in the lowest parts of large-sized slopes. Also, it will be required to administer continuous management and maintenance in the areas already planted with this plants. 3. The areas of blasted rock and ripping rock slopes were applied with coir net (net + seeding) method. However, many of these areas failed in achieving ground covering. Most areas where revegetation was in progress, they were covered with Eragrostis curvula(Weeping lovegrass) only. In areas with soil, such as decomposition of granite, where afforestation is difficult. In this slopes, soil base must be improved by hrdroseeding with thin-layer vegetation base application methods in order to achieve success in afforestation with native plants. 4. Woody species, rather than herb species, are more helpful in stabilization of slope surfaces. Therefore, it is important to be able to grow and protect woody species on highway slopes. Growth of woody vegetation is most largely influenced by soil depth. Thus, when hydro-seeding woody plants, it is recommended to apply at the upper layer of the slopes, which is capable to sufficiently provide the fundamentals required in plant growth.

Avoiding a Collision in Gamma Knife Radiosurgery : A Modified Mask Fixation Method

  • Objective : The latest version of the Leksell Gamma Knife IconTM allows for mask- and frame-based fixation. Although mask fixation provides fractionated treatment and immobilization using a noninvasive method, it is not free from collision. The authors investigated the collision problem with a modified mask fixation method. Methods : This study presents a case of two meningiomas in the frontal area, where a collision occurs in the occipital area. A modified mask fixation method was introduced to avoid the collision : first, the edges of the head cushion were cut off and polystyrene beads with a diameter of approximately 5 cm were removed. Next, the head cushion was sealed using a stapler. Finally, the head cushion was flattened in the adapter. We compared the shot coordinates, 3-dimensional (3D) error, clearance distance, and vertical depth of the head cushion between the initial and modified mask fixations. Results : When comparing the initial and modified mask fixations, the difference in the shot coordinates was +10.5 mm along the y-axis, the difference in the 3D error was approximately 18 mm, and the difference in clearance was -10.2 mm. The head cushion was approximately 8 mm deeper in the modified mask fixation. Conclusion : Based on these findings, we recommend a modified mask fixation method for gamma knife radiosurgery using ICON with a collision.

A Capacitor-Charging Power Supply Using a Series-Resonant Three-Level Inverter Topology

  • In this paper we present a Capacitor Charging Power Supply (CCPS) using a series-resonant three-level inverter topology to improve voltage regulation and use semiconductor switches having low blocking voltage capability such as MOSFETs. This inverter can be operated with two modes, Full Power Mode (FPM) and Half Power Mode (HPM). In FPM inverter supplies the high frequency step up transformer with full DC-link voltage and in HPM with half DC-link voltage. HPM switching method will be adopted when CCPS output voltage reaches the preset target value and operates in refresh mode-charge is maintained on the capacitor. In this topology each semiconductor devices blocks a half of the DC-link voltage[2]. A 15kW, 30kV CCPS has been built and will be tested for an electric precipitator application. The CCPS operates from an input voltage of 500VDC and has a variable output voltage between 10 to 30kV and 1kHz repetition rate at 44nF capacitive load [3]. A resonant frequency of 67.9kHz was selected and a voltage regulation of $0.83\%$ has been achieved through the use of half power mode without using the forced cut off the switch current [1]. The theory of operation, circuit topology and test results are given.

한국 남해안에 서식하는 보구치(Pennahia argentata)의 이석을 이용한 연령 및 성장 (Age and Growth of White Croaker Pennahia argentata in the Southern Sea of Korea by Otolith Analysis)

  • Age structure and growth of white croaker Pennahia argentata were estimated an analysis of otoliths. Fish specimens were collected from the Southern Sea of Korea from January to December 2018. A thin section method was used for age determination because otoliths of white croaker are oval in shape and large in size. Otoliths were cut vertically into 0.4-0.5 mm thick sections with an electric saw (Micracut 125). Monthly changes in the marginal index indicated that rings (opaque zone) were formed once a year in August. The estimated von Bertalanffy growth equation estimated by a non-linear regression were L∞=34.71 (1-e0.38(t+0.80)). In the present study, the oldest female was 8 years old and the male was 7 years old.

무 시들음병에 대한 간편한 대량 저항성 검정법 개발 (Development of an Efficient Mass-screening Method for Testing the Resistance of Radish to Fusarium Wilt)

  • 무 시들음병 저항성 검정에는 대부분 뿌리 침지(root-dipping) 접종 방법을 사용하고 있지만, 이 방법은 복잡한 접종 과정 때문에 많은 노동력과 시간이 소요된다. 본 연구는 F. oxysporum f. sp. raphani에 의해 발생하는 무 시들음병의 간편 대량 저항성 검정법을 확립하기 위하여 수행하였다. 간편 저항성 검정법을 개발하기 위해 scalpel 접종 방법, 접종 농도 및 생장 단계에 따른 무 감수성 및 저항성 품종의 시들음병 발생을 조사하였다. 그리고 그 결과로부터 무 시들음병 대량 검정을 위한 효율적인 간편 저항성 검정방법으로 14일 동안 재배된 유묘에 scalpel을 사용하여 지제부에서 0.5 cm 떨어진 곳에서 $90^{\circ}$ 각도 2 cm 깊이로 찔러서 뿌리에 상처를 주고 포자현탁액($1.0{\times}10^7conidia/ml$)을 10 ml씩 관주하여 접종하고 $25^{\circ}C$에서 하루 12시간씩 광을 조사하면서 약 4주간 재배하는 것이 효율적이라고 생각되었다. 본 연구를 통해 확립한 접종방법은 대량의 무 시료로부터 시들음병에 대한 저항성 개체를 효과적으로 선발하는 것을 가능하게 할 것이다.

Slot 구조를 이용한 920MHz 소형 RFID 리더 안테나 다구찌설계 연구 (The design of a 920MHz compact RFID reader antenna of slot structure using the Taguchi's Method)

  • In this paper, an optimum design center frequency proposes portable RFID reader antenna that is 920MHz frequency using the Taguchi's Method. Proposed antenna is cut corner of opposite angle and it's structure that have slots in four sides microstrip patch of a perfect square shape. This slot structure can miniaturize microstrip patch antenna and confirmed through an experiment that size of antenna about 18% decreases than structure that slot does not exist. Because compact antenna that have structure of slot changes according to complex design variables, analysis and experimental design for minimization of experiment number of times are required for optimum antenna design. In this research, designed antenna that have optimum structure when introduce and designs table of orthogonal arrays of the Taguchi's Method been experimental design that can minimize analysis and experiment number of times, achieve responsiveness analysis of main elements and analyzes the effect and minimizes design repeat with analysis result. Presented experiment result about antenna special quality that permittivity is 4.4 and manufactures to board of Epoxy 3.2T.

Detection of HER2 Status in Breast Cancer: Comparison of Current Methods with MLPA and Real-time RT-PCR

  • Human epidermal growth factor receptor (HER) status is an important prognostic factor in breast cancer. There is no globally accepted method for determining its status, and which method is most precise is still a matter of debate. We here analyzed HER2 mRNA expression by quantitative reverse transcription-PCR (qRT-PCR) and HER2 DNA amplification using multiplex ligation-dependent probe amplification (MLPA). In parallel, we performed a routine evaluation of HER2 protein by immunohistochemistry (IHC). To assess the accuracy of the RT-PCR and MLPA techniques, a combination of IHC and fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) was used, substituting FISH when the results of IHC were ambiguous (2+) and for those IHC results that disagreed with MLPA and qRT-PCR, this approach being termed IHC-FISH. The IHC results for four samples were not compatible with the MLPA and qRT-PCR results; the MLPA and qRT-PCR results for these samples were confirmed by FISH. The correlations between IHC-FISH and qRT-PCR or MLPA were 0.945 and 0.973, respectively. The ASCO/CAP guideline IHC/FISH correlation with MLPA was (0.827) and with RT-PCR was (0.854). The correlations between the IHC results (0, 1+ as negative, and 3+ as positive) and qRT-PCR and MLPA techniques were 0.743 and 0.831, respectively. Given the shortcomings of IHC analysis and greater correlations between MLPA, qRT-PCR, and FISH methods than IHC analysis alone with each of these three methods, we propose that MLPA and real-time PCR are good alternatives to IHC. However a suitable cut-off point for qRTPCR is a prerequisite for determining the exact status of HER2.

임목수확방법별 벌도작업 생산성 및 비용 분석 (Productivity and Costs of Felling Operation for Three Harvesting Methods in Mixed Forest Stands)

  • 본 연구는 동일한 임분조건에서 작업자 2명(A: 작업경력 5년 이하, B: 작업경력 15년 이상)을 대상으로 임목수확방법별(전목수확 전간수확 단목수확)에 따른 벌도작업의 작업생산성과 비용을 분석하였다. 전목작업에서 작업자 A의 생산성은 $10.3m^3/SMH$, 작업비용은 2,066원/$m^3$이며, 작업자 B는 생산성 $12.7m^3/SMH$, 작업비용 2,201원/$m^3$으로 산출되었으며, 시간당 생산성은 작업자 B가 다소 높았지만, 작업비용은 작업자 B의 높은 임금으로 작업자 A가 약간 낮게 나타났다(p>0.05). 전간작업의 경우 작업자 A와 B의 생산성은 각각 $2.2m^3/SMH$$3.3m^3/SMH$이며, 작업비용은 각각 9,890원/$m^3$과 8,459원/$m^3$으로, 작업자 B가 A보다 생산성은 높게, 작업비용은 낮게 산출되어 작업의 숙련도에 따라 큰 차이를 보이고 있었다(p<0.05). 단목작업에서 작업자 A와 B의 생산성은 $2.3m^3/SMH$$3.0m^3/SMH$, 작업비용은 9,584원/$m^3$, 9,395원/$m^3$으로, 작업자 B의 생산성이 높고, 작업비용은 낮게 산출되었다(p>0.05). 이와 같이 벌도작업 중에서도 임목의 절단작업과 같이 높은 숙련도를 요구하지 않는 단순작업에서는 오히려 작업자의 임금이 생산비용에 크게 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 가지정리와 같이 임지 내 벌도목 사이를 이동하며, 작업하는 것은 작업자의 높은 숙련도가 작업경비의 저감에 영향을 미치는 것으로 판단된다.

대단면 터널굴착에 있어서 굴착순서에 따른 수치해석적 안정성 검토 (A Numerical Study on Safety According to the Excavation Step for Large Cross Section Tunnel)

  • 대단변 NATM터널에서 지반자체로 막장의 안정을 유지하기 위해 분할굴착공법을 사용한다. 분할굴착을 해야 한다면 더 나은 응력 상태를 유지할 수 있는 분할굴착공법을 강구해야할 것이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 터널의 단면분할 굴착공법 중 CD굴착 (중벽분할굴착)공법에서 굴착순서에 따른 응력분포를 수치해석적인 방법을 이용하여 검토하고, 막장주변의 응력집중을 최소로 하는 최적의 막장 이격거리와 굴착순서를 도출하였다. 해석에 사용한 프로그램은 국내에서 상용화되고 있는 3차원 연속체 해석 프로그램인 FLAC-3D Ver 2.1을 사용하였고, 암반등급 3과 5에 대해 막장거리 2m, 4m, 6m, ${\cdots}$, 20m, 40m를 적용하여 안정성 검토를 행하였다.
