아동에 대한 어머니의 사고예방 실천 정도 (The Degree of Mothers사 Accident Prevention Practices for Their Children)

  • Accidents are the leading cause of death in children worldwide. The purpose of this study is to use basic data of safety education, counseling, and information available regarding accident prevention to examine the degree of mothers' accident prevention practices for their children. Data were collected from June to October, 1998 from 587 mothers including 2 University hospitals located in Seoul and Kyoungki-Do. By using the 30 item questionnaire, which was created by researchers through literature review, the degree of mothers' accident prevention practices for their children was measured. The degree of accident prevention practices of mothers shown ranged 70-118 and averaged 3.19. Compared to the composit area average score, drug keeping had the highest score of 3.57 The next highest scores and traffic safety(3.41), and supervision of child(3.30). Prevention against burning was the lowest point at 2.58. With the respect to the demographic characteristics, there were stastically significant differences in the mothers' education(F=4.291, p=.014), type of residence(F=3.979, p=.008), and child developmental age (F=5.275, p=.001). The degree of accident prevention practices of mothers were relatively high. But the area which showed the low degree of accident prevention practices, required nurses' active education, counseling, social interest and support, and mass media participation.

  • Fuel tank design requires special care because tank explosion can cause catastrophic event with high possibility as shown in accident of TWA 800. In this study, cause of fuel tank explosion was reviewed and several design considerations to minimize explosion possibility were introduced.

한국형 교통사고 심층조사 DB 체계 구축에 대한 연구 (A Study on the Construction of the Database Structure for the Korea In-depth Accident Study)

  • The accident statistics use the data from police accident reports and statistics. Although the official accident statistics are useful, they provide very limited information about how accidents occur, the cause of the accident and the injury mechanisms. This limitations could be overcome by carrying out the in-depth accident study and analysing investigations, collecting more detailed information. Meanwhile a net of in-depth investigation teams are operating worldwide, such as NASS (National Accident Sampling System) and CIREN (Crash Injury Research and Engineering Network) in US, OTS (On the spot investigation) in UK. In this study, the database structure and variables of Korea in-depth accidents investigation system would be proposed through considering the database structure of GIDAS (Germany In-Depth Accidents Study). GIDAS is one of the best system on the in-depth accident study system in the world. GIDAS was established in 1999 as a cooperation project between Federal Highway Research Institute of Germany (BASt) and research association on automotive engineering of German Car Industry(FAT). The iGLAD (Initiative for the Global Harmonization of Accident Data) was also considered to introduce into the database variables of Korea in-depth accident study. Current police reports were compared with GIDAS and iGLAD. To collaborate of the Worldwide in-depth accident data, this paper proposed that the database of Korea in-depth accident study would be introduced the structure of GIDAS and the core variables of iGLAD. Harmonization of the structures and core variables of Korea in-depth accident study will be better than the making unique ones. The database structure and core variables of KIDAS(Korea In-Depth Accident Study) introduced of GIDAS and iGLAD.

중국 텐진항 폭발사고 원인과 관련된 폭발 에너지 분석 (Analysis of Explosion Energy related to the Cause of Tianjin Explosion Accident in China)

  • 2015년 8월 12일 중국 텐진항에서는 두 번의 대규모 폭발이 발생하였다. 두 번의 폭발은 TNT 3톤, TNT 21톤 규모로 추정되었다. 현재까지 폭발의 정확한 원인은 공표되지 않고 있으며 원인에 대한 몇 가지 추정이 제시되고 있다. 그중 하나는 화재진압을 위해 뿌려진 물과 탄산칼슘의 화학반응에 의해 폭발성 아세틸렌 가스가 발생하고 이 가스의 폭발이 800톤의 질산암모늄의 폭발을 야기했을 것이라는 것이다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 폭발 시나리오에 대한 폭발에너지 분석을 통해 화학적 반응에 의해 텐진항 폭발 사고와 같은 대규모 폭발이 발생 가능한지를 평가하였다.

볼트액션 작동방식 단발형 소총의 비정상 작동에 관한 개선 연구 (A Study on Improvement of the Abnormal Operation of a One-shot Rifle with Bolt-action Operating System)

  • Purpose: In this study, the goal is to analyze this case to prevent the same accidents when using one-shot rifle. Methods: Detailed analysis of damaged parts must first be made in order to determine the cause of the abnormal explosion. The cause of abnormal operation can be determined by analyzing the information of damaged components and the firing mechanism of the weapon step by step. Also we can refer to a statement of shooter, witness and accident scene situation. Based on this theory, cause of abnormal firing can be narrow down. Results: Fracture of pin for fixing firing and latch is cause of abnormal operation of firing. Conclusion: It is deemed that periodic inspection and fundamental improvement of the structure are required to prevent the same accident as this.

교통사고 조사 및 재현에서 신형 전자식운행기록계의 신뢰성에 관한 연구 (Study on Reliability of New Digital Tachograph for Traffic Accident Investigation and Reconstruction)

  • Recently Digital-TachoGraph(DTG) was mounted mandatorily in commercial vehicles(Taxi, Bus, etc.). DTG records accurate and detailed information of the running state of vehicles related to traffic accident, such as Time, Distance, Velocity, RPM, Brake ON/OFF, GPS, Azimuth, Acceleration. Thus those standardized data can play an important role in traffic accident investigation and reconstruction. To develope the accurate and objective method using the DTG data for the reconstruction of traffic accident, we had conducted several tests such as driving test, high speed circuit test, braking test, slalom test at Korea Automobile Testing & Research Institute(KATRI), and collision test at Korea Automobile insurance repair Research and Training center(KART) with the vehicle equipped with several DTG. Development of the program which enables the reading and analysis of the DTG data was followed. In the experiments, we have found velocity error, RPM error, brake signal error and azimuth error in several products, and also non-continuous event data. The cause of these errors was deduced to be related to the correction factor, the durability of electronic parts and the algorithm.

  • 사고 원인에 대한 철저한 분석은 사고 재발 방지를 위한 필수적인 과정이다. 해체공사 사고의 원인을 살펴보면 작업자의 불안전한 행동, 불안전한 상태, 심리적·신체적 상태, 현장관리 원인 등 매우 다양하다. 현재 해체공사 사고통계는 지속적으로 조사·보고되고 있으나 사고 유형에 따른 보다 근본적인 원인 분류 정보가 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 하인리히의 도미노 이론을 바탕으로 해체공사 사고의 유형에 따라 사고원인(불안전한 행동, 불안전한 조건)과 휴먼에러(인적요인)를 분류하였다. 본 연구에서는 해체공사시 사고유형에 따라 사고원인을 체계적으로 분류하기 위해 QFD-FMEA(Quality Function Deployment - Failure Mode Effect Analysis) 3단계 모델을 사용하였다. 사고원인 분류 결과는 사고예방을 위한 안전지식 및 체크리스트로 활용할 수 있다.

  • Dae-gu subway accident raise whole points in connection with safety facilities and operating of national urban transit system like rolling stocks, facilities, management of human. Rolling stock is made every effort for improvement of performance, guarantee of comfortableness, insurance of economical efficiency. But Security like safety of fire is not thoroughgoing enough. Especially, interior material has used although it is not prove its degree of safety. it is a main cause of Dae-gu subway accident. Safety regulation of urban transit vehicle that legislate for security in March 2000 does not applied manufacturing vehicles before in 2000. It has be prescribed in the regulations that incombustibles must be used. But detailed test standard related with incombustibles is not prescribe. Thus that regulation be required reinforcement of detailed test standard. Main cause of Dae-Gu subway accident is a fire in vehicle. However, many defects are found in infrastructure and operating vehicle of urban transit, such as inexperienced disposal of driver and CCC in early stage of the fire accident, unskilled opening and closing doors, insufficient escape facilities and safety facilities of a station house and tunnel, and incomplete communication system between vehicle and CTC, extraordinary step. Thus the aims of this study are prevention of urban transit accident, improvement plan of safety driving, and proposal of quick action plan through analysis of total faculty of vehicle.

  • This paper investigates the job-related low back pains (LBP) in Kuro industrial complex where the manufacturing industries are prevailing. The accident compensation claims during 1992 to 1994 were reviewed and total of 726 LBP claims were analyzed among 7920 compensation claims. A LBP database was constructed to analyze the LBP profiles of this area. The most frequent cause of LBPs was the manual materials handling related lifting, lowering, carrying, pushing or pulling(45.9%) and the second-most frequent cause was fall and slip (29.8%) and collision (7.9%) was the following cause of the LBP.

철도 차량용 이벤트 레코더를 위한 분석 소프트웨어 개발 (Development of Analysis Software for Railway Vehicle Event Recorder)

  • 최근 철도차량에도 객관적이고 신속 정확하게 사고 원인을 분석하고, 사고를 미리 예방하기 위하여 여러 나라에서 철도 차량의 운행정보가 기록되는 블랙박스 즉, 이벤트 레코더의 설치를 법제화하고 있고, 이에 대한 연구를 진행하고 있다. 또한 사고에 대한 정확한 판단을 위하여 저장된 데이터를 분석하고 표현할 수 있는 분석 소프트웨어가 요구된다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 이벤트 레코더에 기록된 데이터를 분석하고 음성과 영상을 재생하는 분석 소프트웨어를 개발하였다. 본 논문의 이벤트 레코더 분석 소프트웨어는 신속하고 정확하게 사고 원인을 규명할 수 있고, 구간별 운행 패턴과 기관사의 습관 등을 파악할 수 있다. 또한 이미 발생한 사고 상황에 대해 영상과 음성을 함께 분석함으로써, 차후 발생할 수 있는 사고를 미연에 방지할 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.
