The Effects of Content and Distribution of Recommended Items on User Satisfaction: Focus on YouTube

  • The performance of recommender systems (RS) has been measured mainly in terms of accuracy. However, there are other aspects of performance that are difficult to understand in terms of accuracy, such as coverage, serendipity, and satisfaction with recommended results. Moreover, particularly with RSs that suggest multiple items at a time, such as YouTube, user satisfaction with recommended results may vary not only depending on their accuracy, but also on their configuration, content, and design displayed to the user. This is true when classifying an RS as a single RS with one recommended result and as a multiple RS with diverse results. No empirical analysis has been conducted on the influence of the content and distribution of recommendation items on user satisfaction. In this study, we propose a research model representing the content and distribution of recommended items and how they affect user satisfaction with the RS. We focus on RSs that recommend multiple items. We performed an empirical analysis involving 149 YouTube users. The results suggest that user satisfaction with recommended results is significantly affected according to the HHI (Herfindahl-Hirschman Index). In addition, satisfaction significantly increased when the recommended item on the top of the list was the same category in terms of content that users were currently watching. Particularly when the purpose of using RS is hedonic, not utilitarian, the results showed greater satisfaction when the number of views of the recommended items was evenly distributed. However, other characteristics of selected content, such as view count and playback time, had relatively less impact on satisfaction with recommended items. To the best of our knowledge, this study is the first to show that the category concentration of items impacts user satisfaction on websites recommending diverse items in different categories using a content-based filtering system, such as YouTube. In addition, our use of the HHI index, which has been extensively used in economics research, to show the distributional characteristics of recommended items, is also unique. The HHI for categories of recommended items was useful in explaining user satisfaction.

엎드린 자세에서의 다리이음뼈 블록중재가 넙다리뒤근육 이완과 호흡시 엉치뼈 움직임에 미치는 영향 (The effect of prone pelvic blocking on hamstring muscle relaxation and sacral movement)

  • 엉치엉덩관절의 고정(sacroiliac joint fixation; SIJF)은 넙다리뒤근육의 과긴장을 일으키고, 호흡시 나타나는 엉치뼈의 움직임을 제한한다. 본 연구는 카이로프랙틱 기법 중 엎드린 자세에서 시술되어지는 S.O.T category I 골반 블록 중재가 SIJF를 완화시킬 수 있는지 알아보기 위한 것이다. 발꿈치긴장 검사를 통해 SIJF를 가진 26명의 참가자를 선정하여 실험군과 대조군에 각기 13명씩 무작위 할당하였다. 실험군은 category I 블록 중재를 받았고, 대조군은 거짓블록 중재를 받았다. 중재 전과 후에 넙다리뒤근육의 긴장 정도(체전굴 검사 이용)와 호흡시 엉치뼈의 움직임을 측정하였다. 발꿈치긴장 검사 결과 실험 군에 속한 참가자는 모두 음성반응을 보인 반면, 통제군의 참가자들은 양성반응을 보여 블록중재가 SIJF를 완화시킨 것을 확인하였다. 공분산분석(ANCOVA)에서 블록중재에 의해 체전굴 측정치[F(1, 23)=7.73, p<.05]와 호흡시 엉치뼈의 움직임[F(1, 23)=7.07, p<.05] 모두가 유의하게 증가된 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 통제군에서는 중재 전과 후의 차이가 없었다. 이 결과는 비침습적 중재법인 S.O.T category I 블록 기법이 SIJF와 관련된 증상을 완화시킬 수 있는 유용한 방법임을 시사한다.

방문요양 요양보호사의 근골격계 통증 유발요인에 관한 연구 (Study on Factors that Induce Musculoskeletal Symptoms in Care Workers Who Offer Visiting Home-Help Services)

  • Objectives: 본 연구의 목적은 방문요양 요양보호사들의 세부업무 영역별 특성이 근골격계통증에 미치는 영향을 알아보고, 요양보호사들의 근골격계통증을 경감시키는 방안을 마련하고자 하는 것이다. Methods: 본 연구는 P시에 위치한 C, K 재가센터 소속 요양보호사 192명을 대상으로 실시하였다. 대상자들에게 근골격계통증척도와 요양보호사의 세부업무에 대한 작업부담체크리스트를 작성하게 한 후, 수집된 자료를 SPSS 21.0 프로그램을 이용하여 분석하였다. Results: 요양보호사의 근골격계통증 자각증상 정도를 보면, 허리통증과 어깨통증의 수치가 가장 높았다. 세부업무 영역별 특성이 근골격계통증에 미치는 영향을 알아본 결과, 신체수발영역의 '식사수발하기, 이동지원하기, 목욕지원하기, 체위변경하기, 건강관리영역의 '물리치료보조하기, 욕창관리하기', 시설환경 관리영역의 '청소 및 세탁물관리'가 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. Conclusion: 요양보호사들은 거동이 불편한 대상자들을 이동시키거나 체위를 변경하는 동작 등 신체적으로 무리가 가중되는 환자의 비율이 높아 신체 하중을 가장 많이 받는 허리와, 어깨의 통증을 일으킬 우려가 매우 높다. 이에, 요양보호사들에게 통증이 주로 발생할 수 있는 부위의 과부하를 줄여줄 수 있는 인체역학적 자세에 대한 교육이 필요하다. 그리고 위험한 업무에 대해서는 장비 및 인력의 지원이 제공 되어야 할 것이며, 지속적으로 다각적 차원의 사회적 지원이 필요할 것이다.

퍼지 GIS 공간분석에 의한 지목변경 대상필지 선정방법에 관한 연구 - 국공유지 도로현황을 중심으로 - (A Study on the Selection Method of Subject Parcel to Alter Land Category by Fuzzy GIS Analysis - Focused on Road State of Government Owned and Public Land -)

  • 이 연구의 목적은 퍼지 소속함수와 GIS 공간분석을 이용하여, 국공유지의 도로현황을 중심으로 토지이동현황조사시 지목변경 대상필지를 선정하는 방법을 연구하는데 있다. 인천 중구의 구도심지역과 계양구의 신도심 임야지역을 연구 대상지역으로 선정하여, 연속지적도, 한국토지정보시스템의 도시계획 도로 레이어, 도로명주소관리시스템의 실폭도로 레이어, 토지대장 전산자료를 GIS 공간분석 하였다. 도로 및 실폭도로 레이어에 편입된 연속지적도 각 필지의 면적 비율을 임계값으로, 퍼지소속함수를 이용하여 지목변경 대상필지 적합지수를 계산하였다. 마지막으로 적합지수를 시각화한 화면과 정사항공사진을 참조자료로 활용하여, 실제 이용현황과 지목이 상이한 필지를 지목변경 대상필지로 최종선정 하였다. 최종선정 결과, 이 연구에서 제안한 퍼지 GIS 공간분석방법은 기존의 수기 방법에 비하여, 선정기간이나 방법론적으로 효율적인 것으로 판단되며, 임야지역보다는 도심 지역에, 도심지역 중에서도 구도심보다는 신도심에 적합한 방법임을 확인할 수 있었다.

학교급식 지속가능경영활동에 대한 영양사의 자기평가와 장애요인 - 대전·충남지역을 중심으로 - (Dietitians' Self-Evaluation and Barriers to Sustainable Practices for School Foodservice Management - Focused on Daejeon and Chungnam Area -)

  • Purpose: The purposes of the study were to evaluate dietitian's practices for sustainability management and identify barriers of sustainability management at school foodservice. Methods: A total of 220 dietitians working in Daejeon and Chungnam area were surveyed. 187 responses were analyzed for the study. Data were analyzed using SPSS Windows. Results: The respondents were 36% in their 20 s, 38% in their 30 s, 39.6% in elementary schools, 33.7% in middle schools and 26.4% in high schools. Among dietitian's practices for sustainability management, the item with the highest self-evaluation was purchase eco-friendly food (3.75). The category with the highest score was procurement (3.52), by waste management (3.48), production (3.39), menu management (3.36), facility and energy management (3.20), personnel management (3.18), and nutrition education (3.04). In the area of menu management, production management, facility and energy management, nutrition education, and personnel management, scores of elementary school working dietitians were the highest, followed by middle school and high school (p<0.001). The most perceived factor for barriers to sustainability management was principal's indifference to sustainability management (4.10 out of 5 points). ietitian's sustainability management practices and barriers showed a negative correlation. Conclusion: It is necessary to dietitians, employees, and principals' awareness about sustainability management in order to perform effective sustainable management school foodservice.

관리자와 조리사가 인식하는 한식당 운영 관리에 대한 중요도와 수행도 평가 (Evaluation of Importance and Performance for Operation Management by Managers and Chefs at Korean Restaurants)

  • The purposes of this study were to investigate managers' and chefs' perception on importance and performance of operation management of Korean restaurants, and to examine Importance-Performance Analysis (IPA) for operation management. A total of 342 managers and chefs working at Korean restaurants in Seoul and Gyeonggi province were surveyed and 314 responses were returned. Excluding responses with missing data, 250 responses were used for data analysis. In terms of importance of operation management attributes, 'sanitation management (4.38)' category received the highest scores, followed by 'facility and equipment management (4.35)', 'service management (4.17)', 'production management (4.04)', 'inventory and financial management (4.04)' and 'marketing (3.25)'. In terms of performance, the highest operation management attribute was associated with 'sanitation management (4.00)', followed by 'facility and equipment management (3.80)', 'production management (3.69)', 'inventory and financial management (3.55)', 'service management (3.51)' and 'marketing (2.53)'. As the results of IPA, 'customer care and hospitality education for hall servers', 'training hall servers for menu explanation to customers', and 'neat appearances and clean uniforms of the hall servers' fell into the Quadrant II(concentrate here).

시.도 및 지역교육청 학교급식 업무 담당자의 직무분석 (Job Analysis of School Foodservice Officials in City, Province and District Offices of Education)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze roles and duties of officials in charge of school foodservice in city, province and district 'Offices of Education'. For this purpose, the list of roles/duties of officials was developed through in-depth interviews, content analysis, and delphi technique. The list which includes 56 duty items in 8 dimensions was used for developing a questionnaire. A total of 282 questionnaires from 102 Offices of Education were used for the analysis. The school foodservice officials regarded 'budget management', 'facilities & labor management', 'developing long-term plan', and 'inspection & evaluation' as important. 'Education and research' and ‘management of nutrition, diet, and food materials' showed higher level of importance and need for support compared to its frequencies of work. There was no significant difference among city, provincial, and district Offices of Education on the levels of importance for each area/category. However, 'Officials in the District Offices of Education' needed more support in the area/category of 'facility & labor management'(p < .01). In addition, there was a significant difference between actual and ideal proportion of work in 'education & research'(p < .001), 'management of nutrition, diet and food'(p < .01), 'other supports for school foodservice'(p < .05) amongst the officials in 'City & Province Offices of Education'. For 'officials in the District Offices of Education', actual and ideal proportion of work was different in 'planning & coordination'(p < .01), 'school foodservice program management'(p < .001), 'education & research' (p < .001), 'management of nutrition, diet and food materials'(p < .001), and 'budget management'(p < .001). The results of this study showed that the areas of 'budget management', 'facility & labor management', and 'developing long-term plan', inspection & evaluation' needed more support for 'City & Province Offices of Education'. 'Officials in the District Offices of Education' also needed more support in the areas of 'budget management' and 'facility & labor management'.

천식 환자의 질병관리 경험: 근거이론접근 (The Disease Management Experience of Patients with Asthma: Grounded Theory Approach)

  • Purpose: The aim of this study was to develop a situation-specific theory to explain the disease management experience of patients with asthma. Methods: Twenty participants with asthma were selected using the theoretical sampling method. The data were acquired through in-depth interviews conducted from June to October 2018 and analyzed using the grounded theory approach of Strauss and Corbin. Results: In total, 69 concepts, 30 subcategories, and 13 categories were generated to explain the disease management experience of patients with asthma. The core category of the disease management experience of patients with asthma was 'management of the disease to prevent aggravation of symptoms over the lifetime'. The disease management process of asthma patients included three steps: the 'cognition phase', the 'adjustment phase', and the 'maintenance phase'. However, some patients remained in the 'stagnation phase' of disease management, which represents the result of the continual pursuit of risky health behavior. There were three types of disease management experiences among patients with asthma: 'self-managing', 'partially self-managing', and 'avoidant'. Conclusion: This study shows that patients with asthma must lead their disease management process to prevent exacerbation of their symptoms. It is imperative to develop nursing strategies and establish policies for effective disease management of patients with asthma based on their individual disease management processes and types.

보육시설의 안전관리 실천에 관한 연구 -전라북도 보육시설을 중심으로- (A Study on the Safety Management Practice of Child-Care Centers)

  • 본 연구는 보육시설의 안전사고를 예방하기 위한 대책으로서 보육시설의 안전관리 실천 실태를 점검하고 그 정도를 파악함으로써 보육시설 안전 환경에 대한 기초 자료를 제시하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 보육시설 평가인증 지침(2005)의 안전관리 영역 척도와 관련이 있는 문헌 고찰을 토대로 한 선행 연구를 참고로 하여 안전관리 실천에 관한 사항을 6개 하위 영역으로 나누고 하위 문항을 구성해 작성한 설문지를 가지고 전라북도 보육 시설장 102명을 연구 대상으로 하였다. 본 연구에서 나타난 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 시설장들의 안전관리 실태 조사에서 실내시설 안전관리와 비상사태 대처방안 영역에서 다른 영역들에 비해 안전관리 실천 정도가 떨어지는 것으로 조사되었다. 둘째, 보육시설의 안전관리 실천에 대한 각 하위 영역별 평균을 비교해 보았을 때 안전지도 및 교육 항목에서 1.82점으로 가장 실천 정도가 높은 것으로 나타났고, 실내시설 안전관리 항목이 1.59점으로 가장 실천 정도가 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 보육시설과 시설장의 관련 변인에 따른 안전관리 실천을 비교한 결과 보육시설 유형별, 시설장의 성별, 시설장의 경력에 따라 차이가 나타났다.

창조성 발현 경영을 위한 성과지표에 대한 탐색적 연구 (An Exploratory Study on the Performance Indicators for Management that Reveals Creativity)

  • The CEOs of global companies have been realized the imagination and creativity that can be obtained from the corporate culture is the crucial competitive power for sustainable growth. Thus, most domestic companies take an increasing interest in how to make creativity efficiently. This paper, however, argues that the proper application of performance indicators can engender creativity and innovation in organizations without costly investing on creativity. Assuming that creativity is actually dominated by the emotion of human resources rather than the rationality, this paper suggests the performance indicators developed based on the viewpoint of the characteristics of human needs and the relationship between the human needs and the attribute of works. The performance system which consists of activity, sociality and creativity is presented and the performance indicators for each category are also suggested to improve the spontaneity and creativity of human resources.
