동해구 심해 미이용 자원의 어획 시험 연구 (Fishing Experiment for Development of Unused Fishery Resources on the Deep Sea Bed of Korean East Sea)

  • In accordance with a rapid growth of demani on aquatic animals, researches of the unused fishery resources On the deep sea b~d in the Korean Waters has been and will be required. The authors carried out a series of fishing experiments to investigate the available resources and to find the effective fishing method on the deep sea bed of the Korean East Sea. In the experiments, 19 kinds of traps which are different from each other in shape, mesh size and entrance diameter were used. The fishing experiments w~r;; carried out in four areas of 20Dm, 600.'11, 800m and 1000.'11 deep respectively, by the Pusan 402 (30:) GT) and the Pusan 403 (279GT), the training ships of National Fisheries University of Pusan, during August, 1986. The catc~ were analyzed with the size, the depth and the construction of traps. The results obtained can be summarized as follows: 1. Main species of the catch w~re pink shrimp, Pandalus bolelis, a kind of welks, Buccimum striatissimum and a kind of larg~ crabs. Chiono8cetes japonicus and the another species were few. 2. The CPUE value (expressed by the number of catch per trap in this paper) of pink shrimp was the highest in the depth of 20J-n around, and the value in the depth of 600.'11 or more decreased gradually with an increase of the depth. But, the value of Buccimum straitissimum was much higher in the depth of 6:J:)!1I or more than that in the depth of 200m around. On the other hand, the value of Chion:Jecetes japonjcus was very low in general. 3. The iniividual body size of the catch differed with the depth. Pink shrimps caught in the depth of 200m around were smaller than those in the depth of 600.'11 or more. In contrast with this, Baccimum striatissim:t.m caught in the depth of 200m around were larger than those in the depth of 600.'11 or more. 4. Depending on the selection curve in Ishida's method for the mesh size of trap webbing, the carapace length of pink shrimp and the shell length of Buccimum striatissimum which are equivalent to 100% relative catching efficiency can be estimated about 3.5cm and 6.5cm or so respectively. 5. The number of catch of pink shrimp and Buccimum striatissimum by the 60.'1'1.'11 entrance diameter of trap were less than that by the 90mm, 120mm and 150mm, even thogh the diffierence am~r, g 9:Jmm, 120.'11.'11 and 150:1'.'11 are not so large.

  • In order to study the catching efficiency of shrimp trawl equipped with electrodes around the net mouth and stimulant devices attached to the ground rope, an experimental operation was carried out at Oma-Island Shrimp Farm from October 3rd to November 5th, 1970. Many studies have been made on the shrimp trawl with electric stimulant devices, but few can be found for detailed scientific catching methods. Electric power consumption was so excessive that electric stimulant devices could not be developed for commercial purposes. As a first step toward the successive operations of the electric stimulant devices in the field, it is necessary to study fundamental principles, such as electric current, voltage, electric potential, potential difference, electric field and suitable pulse. The behaviour response of the common shrimp, Penaeus japonicus BATE to moving nets and electric stimulant devices were reported in the preceding papers based on the water tank experiments (Ko and Kim, 1970). Through comparative fishing tests the rate of catching efficiency during daylight time was confirmed to be from 89 to 96 per cent of the night catch efficiency, and with 30 V. 1.5 A. electric power was sufficent for practical sea operation.

트롤어선의 예망속도 향상을 위한 추진기 구조개선 (Redesigning nozzle propeller of trawl vessel for improving towing speed)

  • Fishing efficiency of a trawl vessel can be enhanced by increasing the swept area per unit time, which can be attained either by increasing the mouth size of the net, or by increasing the towing speed. To improve fishing and fuel efficiency of trawl vessels targeting fishes of greater mobility, in which the towing speed is more critical in determining fishing efficiency, we conducted a series of model tests to evaluate the performance of the newly-designed nozzle propeller before installing it in a trawl vessel to verify its towing speed and fuel efficiency in the sea. By conducting further model tests in the experimental basin, we redesigned the propeller of stern trawler to improve the resistance and propulsion performance. Through actual fishing operations, we evaluated the improvement in fuel and fishing efficiency by installing the new nozzle propeller. The trawling speed increased by 0.6kts at the same engine power (RPM), while the engine margin increased by more than 20%. The increased towing speed by installing the redesigned propeller is expected to enhance fishing performance through increasing the number of hauling- and casting operations per unit times, while shortening the towing duration. Analysis of the Catch-Per-Unit-Effort (CPUE) data indicated that the mean CPUE of trawl fishery increased from 3.04kg/m in year 2007 to 6.15kg/m in year 2008, confirming enhanced fishing efficiency by adopting the redesigned propeller.

SFA를 이용한 태평양 원양연승어업의 어선별 생산효율성 분석 (Estimating the productive efficienct of distant-water longline vessels in Pacific Ocean using a Stochastic Frontier Approach)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the efficiency of distant-water longline fishing vessels in the Pacific Ocean and the gap in efficiencies among individual vessels. In order to estimate the efficiency, the dependent variable is set as an amount of catch and independent variables include number of crew, number of hooks, number of vessel size, and vessels engine power associated with fishing activities of distant water longline fisheries. Analytical result was shown as follows: first, the average efficiency of distant-water longline fishing vessels in the Pacific Ocean was found to be 94%. Second, the number of hooks were found to be statistically significant in each input variable and the appropriate control of the number of hooks would be expected to have a positive effect on the efficiency. Third, the relationship between the age of a vessel and the efficiency was not found statistically.

공공병원과 민간병원의 생산성 격차 비교 (The Comparison of Productivity Change Gap of Public Hospitals and Private Hospitals in Korea)

  • 본 연구는 대한병원협회의 경영실적 통계자료에서 2007년부터 2011년까지 5년간 공공종합병원과 민간종합병원의 패널자료를 추출하여 공공종합병원과 민간종합병원의 부트스트랩 메타맘퀴스트 생산성 지수를 산출하고 이 지수를 분해하여 생산성 변화와 생산성 격차를 분석하였다. 분석한 결과와 시사점을 정리하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 공공병원그룹의 메타효율성이 민간병원그룹에 비해 높으나 기술격차비율은 민간병원그룹이 공공병원그룹에 비해 높으며 프론티어에 가장 가까워 민간병원그룹의 소수 대형종합병원이 전체 종합병원의 선도적 역할을 수행하고 있었다. 둘째, 그룹별 생산성 증가는 민간병원그룹이 공공병원그룹에 비해 높았는데, 이는 프론티어의 이동효과($FCU^k$)보다는 기술추격에 기인하는 것으로 분석되었다. 그러나 민간병원그룹과 공공병원그룹 간 기술효율성, 생산성 변화와 생산성 격차가 통계적으로 의미 있는 차이를 보이지 않는 것으로 확인하였다. 따라서 공공병원이 환자 진료실적 측면에서 민간병원 수준의 기술효율성과 생산성 변화 및 생산성 격차를 보임에 따라 공공병원이 환자진료실적 측면에서 공공병원으로서 기능과 역할을 수행하는 것으로 판단된다. 그러므로 재정적 측면에서 어려움을 겪는 공공병원이 선두적인 민간병원과의 연계를 통하여 의료기술과 경영기술을 습득하고 공유하는 것이 필요하다는 시사점을 제공한다.

과학기술적 성과 관점에서 정부 R&D사업 효율성 분석에 관한 연구 (The Study on the Analysis of Efficiency of Governmental R&D Programs Regarding to the S&T Outcomes)

  • 정부는 기술혁신을 통한 경제성장을 견인하기 위하여 R&D 투자를 지속적으로 증가시키고 있다. 따라서, 정부 연구개발 집약도는 매우 큰 폭으로 증가되고 있으나 절대규모에 있어서는 선진국에 비해 여전히 적은 재원을 보유하고 있다. 또한, 연구개발 정책방향이 기술추격형에서 기술선도형으로 전환되고 있어, 공공 R&D 재원의 효율적 활용에 대한 관심도 매우 증가하고 있다. 이에, R&D 효율성을 측정하고 효율성에 영향을 미치는 요인을 분석하기 위한 다각적인 시도가 행해지고 있다. 본 연구에서는 NTIS(국가과학기술지식정보서비스)의 과학기술 투자 및 성과 데이타를 활용, 자료포락분석(DEA)을 이용하여 논문, 특허 등 과학기술적 성과관점에서 정부 순수R&D사업의 효율성을 측정하였다. 더 나아가서, 효율성에 영향을 미치는 배분특성을 규명해 보고자 통계적 유의성 확보가 어려운 데이터 문제들을 보완할 수 있는 비모수 분석 방법인 Mann-Whitney 검정을 활용하였다.

부산물을 이용한 꽃게 통발용 미끼의 유인 효과 (Attracting effect of baits used the by-product for swimming crab Portunus trituberculatus pots)

  • In order to develop the substitutive materials for natural baits of swimming crab pots, the attracting effects of swimming crab such as the preference of baits which were made of the by-products of marine and stock raising through the water tank experiments and fishing experiments. On the investigation of mean entrapped catch number to the pot by the baits after putting the 4 kinds of baits, mackerel(M), mackerel with grinded mackerel s internals($MM_I$), mackerel with tuna s internals$MM_I$) and makerel with grinded krill(MK) each in one pot by turns, $MM_I$ and MK were entrapped mean 3.9(13.0%) and they were a little more comparing to M, and $MT_I$ is least with mean 2.1(7.0%)(F=12.913, P < 0.05). Otherwise, on the preference investigation of swimming crabs by the baits after putting the 4 kinds of baits in the 4 pots each, M was entrapped mean 3.0(10%), but $MM_I$, $MT_I$ and MK were mean 1.2(4.0%), 1.0(3.3%) and 1.5(5.0%) each and they were only 30-50% of M(F=13.398, P < 0.05). On the preference investigation of swimming crabs by the 5 kinds of baits, mackerel(M), and krill(K), manila clam($M_C$), pig s fat($P_F$) and chicken s head($C_H$) which were used in substitutive baits, M was entrapped mean 3.2(10.7%), but K was about 50% of catch of M with mean 1.6(5.3%), and $M_C$, $P_F$ and $C_H$ were very few with mean 0.1-0.2(0.3-0.7%)(F=89.186, P < 0.05). On the preference investigation of swimming crabs by the pots which were put each the 3 kinds of baits, original krill(K), grinded krill with gluten and soybean oil cake($K_GGS$) and grinded krill with gluten, soybean oil cake and glycine($K_GGSG_L$) in the blue fluorescent hexahedral plastic bait cages(BF), and which were put the mackerel(M) in the non-fluorescent hexahedral red plastic bait cage($RF_N$), it was entrapped mean 3.0(10.0%) in the pot which was put the mackerel in the $RF_N$, and the same level in the pots which were put the K and $K_GGSG_L$ in the BF, but it was mean 2.0(6.7%) in the pots which was put the $K_GGS$ in BF and it was decreased by 30% of catch comparing to $RF_N$(F=3.750, P < 0.05). On the preference investigation of swimming crab by the pots which was put grinded tuna with gluten, soybean oil cake and glycine($T_IGSG_L$) in the blue fluorescent hexahedral plastic bait cage(BF), and which was put mackerel(M) in the nonfluorescent hexahedral red plastic bait cage($RF_N$), it was entrapped mean 3.3(11.0%) in the pot which was put mackerel in $RF_N$, and mean 2.7(9.0%) in the pot which was put $T_IGSG_L$ in BF and it was about 15% less comparing to use bait M(t=1.387, P < 0.05). As a results of fishing experiments, a plan for enhancing catching efficiency of $T_IGSG_L$ will be required because catching efficiency of $T_IGSG_L$, alternative bait, was half of fish catching efficiency of natural bait using mackerel. Fishing experiments were conducted 3 times using reinforced substitutive artificial bait that is reinforced attractive effect of $T_IGSG_L$ and composed of tuna intestine, grinded mackerel, gluten, soybean cake, glycine and alanine($T_IM_GGSG_LA$). Catching efficiency of $T_IM_GGSG_LA$ was about 80% of that of natural bait made of mackerel.

Argo 자료를 이용한 해외어장 실시간 해황정보시스템 개발연구 (Development of Real-time Oceanographic Information System for Pelagic Fishery Based on Argo Data)

  • Competitive power of pelagic fishery in Korea has been weakened by the domestic and international problems such as wage increase and exclusive economic zone. To make it worse, fishing fleet spends more than 80% of fishing time on searching fishing grounds. Real-time information on oceanographic data, temperature in particular, are likely to contribute to raise efficiency of fishing. However, available data obtained by satellite remote sensing, fixed buoy and drifting buoy, limited to sea surface or fixed positions. ARGO (Array for Real-time Geostrophic Oceanography), an international program, has delivered vertical profiles of temperature and salinity in the upper 2000m of the world ocean every 10 days using freely moving floats. We have developed real-time oceanographic information system for pelagic fishery based on the Argo data which has the contents of vertical profile, horizontal distribution and vertical section of temperature around fishing grounds and searched data can be download unrestrictedly. Comparison of skipjack catch with sea surface temperature and depth of $20^{\circ}C$ derived from Argo data in the West Equatorial Pacific revealed that Argo data are able to help fishing fleet to find fishing grounds and to increase catch.

생분해문어단지의 제작과 Polyethylene (PE) 문어단지와의 어획 비교 (Development of the biodegradable octopus pot and its catch ability comparison with a Polyethylene (PE) pot)

  • Biodegradable octopus pot was developed to reduce plastic pollution problem in the sea and fishing trouble between fishermen. It can be expect to recycle other wasted biodegrade fishing gear. Experimental fishing was carried out to understand the difference in fishing efficiency between Polyethylene (PE) octopus pots and biodegradable (Polybutylene Succinate and Polybutylene adipate-co-terephthalate) octopus pots which was tried to make in this study in the sea. There were caught by 237 numbers of fishing during the experimental period. Among the 237 numbers of fishing, 160 or 67.5% were PE pots which were more than the biodegradable pots. A comparison of the monthly catches between the PE pots and biodegradable pots shows that the catches were overall higher in the PE pots than in the other pots. The result is very similar with the comparison of total catches by each type of the pots. In terms of bycatch, the number of species, amount of catches and the number of fishing with bycatch were more significant in the biodegradable pots than in the PE pots.

동해안 자망에 대한 고무꺽정이 (Dasycottus setiger )의 망목 선택성 (Size selectivity of the gill net for spinyhead sculpin, Dasycottus setiger in the eastern coastal waters of Korea)

  • Spinyhead sculpin Dasycottus setiger, a species of cold water fish, is distributed along the eastern coastal waters of Korea. A series of fishing experiments was carried out in the waters near Uljin from June, 2002 to November, 2004, using the experimental monofilament gill nets of different mesh sizes (82.2, 89.4, 104.8, and 120.2 mm) to describe the selectivity of the gill net for the fish. The SELECT (Share Each Length's Catch Total) analysis with maximum likelihood method was applied to fit the different functional models (normal, lognormal, and bi-normal models) for selection curves to the catch data. The bi-normal model with the fixed relative fishing intensity was selected as the best-fit selection curve by AIC (Akaike's Information Criterion) comparison. For the best-fit selection curve, the optimum relative length (the ratio of fish total length to mesh size) with the maximum efficiency and the selection range ($R_{50%,large}-R_{50%,small}$) of 50% retention were obtained as 2.363 and 0.851, respectively. The ratios of body girth to mesh perimeter at 100% retention where the selection curve of each mesh size represented the optimum total length were calculated as the range of 0.86 ~ 0.87.
