정수처리용 TiO2 고정화 촉매 비교 (Comparision of Immobilized TiO2 Catalyst for Water Purification)

  • This research aims to compare immobilized catalysts prepared by various methods and determine suitable $TiO_2$ catalyst for water purification. Sol-gel method by Anderson and powder coation method by Tanaka ate famous in the methods to immobilize catalyst. Therefore, the $TiO_2$ catalyst for this research was prepared by sol-gel method and powder coating method. Its structure was tested by X-ray diffractometer (XRD), Scanning electron microseope (SEM). Durability of a catalyst-support couple in an solution was investigated. too. Experimental results were summarized as following; i) Optimum ratio of Ti : $H_2O$ : $H^+$ to obtain stable sol was 1 : 10 : 0.1 and the XRD patterns of $TiO_2$ film immobilized by sol-gel method which were fired at $700^{\circ}C$ showed that the catalyst had an anatase structure. ii) The particle size of $TiO_2$ prepared by sol-gel method was less than $5{\mu}$, but it was observed that coated side was not unifiom. iii) Sol-gel method was very effective to obtain $TiO_2$ catalyst of thin film, but spreadability and durability of a catalyst-support couple in a solution were than $TiO_2$ film immobilized by powder coating method. iv) The particle size of $TiO_2$ immobilized by powder coating method was a little larger than it prepared by sol-gel method, but spreadability and uniformity of $TiO_2$ film and durability of a catalyst-support couple in a solution were better than it immobilized by sol-gel method.

2-촉매 시스템에서의 촉매 용량 결정에 대한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on Determination of Capacity of Catalysts in 2 -Catalyst System)

  • There are various method for the LEV(Low Emission Vehicle) regulation, but 2-catalyst system using one catalyst near exhaust manifold and another catalyst underfloor, is the most popular. This system uses the proven catalyst technology and doesn't use energy. But it is difficult to determine capacity of the two catalysts. So an optimization method to determine the capacity has been proposed by other researcher. It uses the fact that emission decreases with capacity increasing, but the decreasing ratio slows down in high capacity range. It means that the emission and capacity of catalyst is exponentially decreasing relation. In this paper this method will be verified with various experiments. And this method was proven to be very useful to determine the capacity of two catalysts system.

  • A catalyst with CuO ceramic filter for simultaneous treatment of dust and HAP was prepared and characterized. Catalytic ceramic filter can not only potentially achieve the substantial savings in energy but provide with effective optimization and integration of process for simultaneous removal of SO$_2$, NO$_{x}$ and particulates from flue gases. Catalytic ceramic filters remove simultaneously particulates on exterior surface of filters and reduce NO to $N_2$ and $H_2O$ by SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) process. Preparation of catalyst impregnated ceramic filter with disk shape (Ψ 50) follow the processing of alumino-silicate ceramic filter, support impregnation and catalyst impregnation (copper oxide). Preparation routes of alumino-silicate catalyst carrier suitable for production of catalytic filters practically were studied and developed using the sol-gel and colloidal processing, homogeneous precipitation and impregnation method. Characterization of the catalyst, catalyst carrier catalytic filter materials have been performed the using various techniques such as BET, XRD, TGA, SEM. Combination of the sol-gel and colloidal processing and impregnation method is recommended to prepare catalyst carriers economically for catalytic filter applications.s.

Application of Taguchi Experimental Design for the Optimization of Effective Parameters on the Rapeseed Methyl Ester Production

  • The optimization of experimental parameters, such as catalyst type, catalyst concentration, molar ratio of alcohol to oil and reaction temperature, on the transesterification for the production of rapeseed methyl ester has been studied. The Taguchi approach (Taguchi method) was adopted as the experimental design methodology, which was adequate for understanding the effects of the control parameters and to optimize the experimental conditions from a limited number of experiments. The optimal experimental conditions obtained from this study were potassium hydroxide as the catalyst, at a concentration of 1.5 wt %, and a reaction temperature of $60^{\circ}C$. According to Taguchi method, the catalyst concentration played the most important role in the yield of rapeseed methyl ester. Finally, the yield of rapeseed methyl ester was improved to 96.7% with the by optimal conditions of the control parameters which were obtained by Taguchi method.

졸-겔법에 의한 CuO-CeO2 복합 산화물 촉매의 제조 및 CO의 선택적 산화반응에 응용 (Preparation of CuO-CeO2 mixed oxide catalyst by sol-gel method and its application to preferential oxidation of CO)

  • 고분자 전해질 연료전지의 연료에 포함된 일산화탄소의 선택적 산화를 위하여, 귀금속 촉매를 대체하기 위한 CuO-$CeO_2$ 복합 산화물 촉매를 졸-겔법과 공침법으로 제조하였다. 졸-겔법으로 촉매 제조 시 Cu/Ce의 비와 가수분해 비를 변화시켰다. 제조한 촉매의 활성은 귀금속 촉매($Pt/{\gamma}-Al_2O_3$)와 비교하였다. Cu/Ce의 비를 변화시키면서 제조한 촉매 중 Cu/Ce의 비가 4:16인 촉매가 가장 높은 CO 전환율(90%)과 선택도(60%)를 나타내었다. 촉매의 제조에서 가수분해 비가 증가할수록 촉매 표면적이 증가하였고, 아울러 촉매 활성 또한 증가하였다. 공침법으로 제조한 촉매와 1wt% $Pt/{\gamma}-Al_2O_3$ 촉매의 가장 높은 CO 전환율은 각각 82% 및 81%인 반면, 졸-겔법으로 제조한 촉매의 경우는 90%가 얻어졌다. 이는 졸-겔법으로 제조한 촉매가 공침법으로 제조한 촉매나 귀금속 촉매보다 더 높은 촉매활성을 보임을 의미한다. CO-TPD 실험을 통하여, 낮은 온도($140^{\circ}C$)에서 CO를 탈착하는 촉매가 본 반응에서 더 높은 촉매활성을 보임을 알 수 있었다.

  • 과산화수소를 일원 추진제로 사용하는 추력기용 촉매의 건조 조건에 따른 성능 변화에 대한 실험을 수행하였다. 사용한 촉매는 백금이며 촉매 지지체는 펠렛 타입의 알루미나이다. 일반적인 촉매 제작 방법인 증발건조법을 사용하였으며, 이 때 건조 조건에 따른 촉매의 성능을 평가하였다. 촉매 제작 조건 중 pH 값이 낮은 경우 촉매 제작이 유리하였기 때문에 다양한 산성 용액에서 촉매를 담지 해 실험을 수행하였다. 건조 온도는 각각 25, 50, 70, $90^{\circ}C$이며 실험 결과 $90^{\circ}C$에서 건조한 경우 높은 성능을 보임을 알 수 있었다. 이는 빠른 증발속도로 인해서 백금이 결정화를 이루지 못하고 고르게 분산되었기 때문으로 판단된다.

  • In this study we investigated on the possibility of platinum and silver catalysts as de-NOx catalyst for activity test of supported metal oxide catalysts. the study was performed with the change of amount of metal and support types. The catalyst was prepared the activity of alumina supported silver catalyst produced by dry and wet impregnation method respectively and the resistance of sulfur for optimum supported silver catalyst,. As a result the activity of alumina supported platinum catalyst was showed at low temperature region but the case of silver catalyst activated at high temperature region. So we finally chose alumina supported silver catalyst as de-NOx target catalyst because alumina supported catalyst showed higher activity than alumina supported platinum catalyst.

  • For commercial applications, MEA development must be optimized in order to achieve high performance and low cost. There are many factors that affect the performance of MEA. Especially, the optimization of the method for preparing catalyst layer has great effect on the performance of MEA. Various methods have been used to prepare the catalyst layer of MEA. Among them, spraying method has a merit in that catalysis lay can be prepared with very flexible changes in catalyst layer as well as in the solvent composition of catalyst ink. In addition, in order to reduce the time required for manufacturing catalyst layer, an effort has been made to change the nozzle size and injection pressure of spray system. Further, the operation condition of spray system was changed in various ways in an effort to prepare optimum catalyst layer of MEA. Having optimized the operation condition of spraying system, comprehensive and diverse experiments were carried out concerning various factors that affect the performance of MEA. The present research report describes the results of more sub-categorized and more detailed experiments about the important factors (Nafion$^{(R)}$ ionomer, Relative humidity) which have been shown in previous experiments to exert greater effect on the performance of MEA.

톨루엔 분해를 위한 구리-망간 산화물 촉매의 제조방법에 따른 활성 비교 (Activity Comparison According to Prepared Method of Cu-Mn Oxide Catalyst for Toluene Combustion)

  • 함침법과 침적침전법으로 Cu-Mn 산화물 촉매를 제조하여 톨루엔 촉매 분해 반응을 조사하였다. 구리와 망간이 혼합됨으로 촉매활성을 증진 시킬 수 있음을 확인할 수 있었다. 또한 같은 화학적 조성으로 제조된 함침법보다 침적침전법에 의해 제조된 Cu-Mn 산화물 촉매에서 톨루엔 분해 반응 활성이 더 높았다. 침적침전법에 의해 제조된 촉매는 10일간의 장기 분석과 수분 첨가에 의한 톨루엔 분해 효율에 변화가 없었다. 촉매 특성 분석 결과에 기초하여 보면, 침적침전법은 촉매의 표면에 균일한 분산과 작은 크기의 입자를 제공하며 환원 능력을 증진시키는 것으로 판단된다. 따라서 침적침전법은 촉매의 성능을 향상 시키고 촉매의 안정성을 중진 시키는 것으로 생각 된다. 또한 Cu-Mn 산화물 촉매에서 톨루엔 분해 반응은 산화환원 반응에 의존하며 $Cu_{1.5}Mn_{1.5}O_4$ 스피넬 구조가 주요한 촉매 활성점으로 작용하는 것으로 추측된다.

  • The effects of catalyst preparation on the reaction route and the mechanism of biphenol (BP) hydrogenation, which consists of a long series-reaction, were studied. Pd/C catalysts were prepared by incipient wetness method and precipitation and deposition method. The reaction behaviors of the prepared catalysts and a commercial catalyst along with the final product distributions were very different. The choice of the catalyst preparation conditions during precipitation and deposition including the temperature, pH, precursor addition rate, and reducing agent also had significant effects. The reaction behaviors of the catalysts were interpreted in terms of catalyst particle size, metal distribution, and support acidities.
