In order to study the effects of neomycin sulfate on the kidney of Korean black goats after dosing at 36mg/kg(A group) or 18mg/kg of body weight (B group) twice a day, serum chemical values(BUN, SCr), urinary enzyme(GGT) excretion and urinary analysis were checked and renal lesions were observed by light microscope. The proteinuria and granular casts were observed on the 5-6th day and 7th day of treatment with neomycin respectively in the A group. While these changes were observed on the 4th day and the 6th day respectively in one goat of the B group. Urinary GGT excretion began to increase from the 9th day and reached to maximum concentration on the 15th day of treatment with neomycin in the A group. Thereafter, GGT excretion began to decrease and reach to normal level on the 21th day. But GGT excretion increased on the 9th day in only one goat of the B group. Concentrations of BUN and SCr increased on the 12th day in the A group and in one goat of B group. The kidneys were swollen gross pathologically and the renal tubular epithelial cell changes were noticed histologically in the A group and in one goat of the B group. These changes were included degeneration with hyaline droplet formation, flattened epithelial cells and necrotic epithelium. Granular casts were showed in many tubular lumens. Prfesent results indicated that nephrotoxicosis would not occured in Korean black goats dosing with neomycin sulfate less that 36mg/kg of body weight a day.

In this article, scheduling of a casting sequence is studied in a casting foundry which must deliver products according to the Just-in-time(JIT) production policy of a customer. When a foundry manufactures a variety of casts with an identical alloy simultaneously, it frequently faces the task of production scheduling. An optimal casting schedule should be emphasized in order to maximize the production rate and raw material efficiency under the constraints of limited resources; melting furnaces and operation time for a casting machine. To solve this practical problem-fulfilling the objectives of casting the assigned mixed orders for the highest raw material efficiency in a way specified by the customer's JIT schedule, we implement simple integer programming. A simulation to solve a real production problem in a typical casting plant proves that the proposed method provides a feasible solution with a high accuracy for a complex, multi-variable and multi-constraint optimization problem. Employing this simple methodology, a casting foundry having an automated casting machine can produce a mixed order of casts with a maximum furnace utilization within the due date, and provide them according to their customer's JIT inventory policy.

Case Based Reasoning (CBR) has come to be considered as an appropriate technique for diagnosis, prognosis and prescription in medicine. However, canventional CBR has a limitation in that it cannot incorporate asymmetric misclassification cast. It assumes that the cast of type1 error and type2 error are the same, so it cannot be modified according ta the error cast of each type. This problem provides major disincentive to apply conventional CBR ta many real world cases that have different casts associated with different types of error. Medical diagnosis is an important example. In this paper we suggest the new knowledge extraction technique called Cast-Sensitive Case Based Reasoning (CSCBR) that can incorporate unequal misclassification cast. The main idea involves a dynamic adaptation of the optimal classification boundary paint and the number of neighbors that minimize the tatol misclassification cast according ta the error casts. Our technique uses a genetic algorithm (GA) for finding these two feature vectors of CSCBR. We apply this new method ta diabetes datasets and compare the results with those of the cast-sensitive methods, C5.0 and CART. The results of this paper shaw that the proposed technique outperforms other methods and overcomes the limitation of conventional CBR.
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the reproducing accuracy of stone casts made from complete arch impressions using different impression materials. The impression materials studied were 1) polyether, 2) polysulfide, 3) polyvinyl siloxane, and 4) irreversible hydrocolloid. Impressions were made from a partially edentulous acrylic resin model with metal inserts in canine, first molar region bilaterally and mid palatal vault region. Each distance between 2 out of 5 meauring points was measured by using 3dimensional measuring machine. Impressions were poured at once with a type IV dental stone. Data were analyzed using t-test with a sample size of six. The results were as follow : 1. Polysulfide and polyether were significantly superior to polyvinyl siloxane and irreversible hydrocolloid in reproducing full arch model(p<0.05), but there were no statistical differences in amount of dimensional reproducing accuracy for full arch impression between polysulfide and polyether(p>0.05). 2. There were statistical differences in amount of dimensional reproducing accuracy between edentulous area and tooth bound area for polysulfide and polyether(p<0.05). but no statistical differences were observed for polyvinyl siloxane and irreversible hydrocolloid(p>0.05).
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the accuracy of four elastomeric interocclusal recording materials and the weight change according to different storage period (24 hours, 48hours, 7days) and different conditions (dry, wet). The techniques for establishing the intercuspal position were centic occlusion interocclusal record with four elastomeric interocclusal recording materials (Ramitec, Stat-BR, Blu-Mousse, Regisil) (experimental groups) and location of the cast in a position of maximum in-terdigitation using tactile and visual method(control group). To evaluate the accuracy of four elastomeric interocclusal recording materials, the quality of contacts between the mounted casts was compared with the results of an occlusal examination of the same subjects. The results were as follows : 1. The most accurate method of articulating study casts at the intercuspal position was by hand articulation and no significant differences in accuracy were observerd among the experimental groups. 2. In case of interocclusal records storaged in dry sealed plastic box, no significant differences in accuracy were observed among the experimental groups. 3. In case of interocclusal records storaged in water, there was significant inaccuracy in Ramitec group. 4. The biggest weight change was observed in Ramitec group in all storage conditions
This research was made to determine the optimum mixing ratio cattle manure and food waste investigating the effect that gets the growth and reproductive efficiency of earthworm and productivity of earthworm casts at processing process when handled cattle manure and food waste by vermicomposting, in order to establish the treatment system of organic wastes by vermicomposting. Survival ratio of earthworm was highest in the mixing ratio 80~100% : 20~0% of cattle manure and food Waste, and the increasing ratio was highest in cattle manure 100%, and the number of young worms, the weight of young worms and the productivity of earthworm casts in plots more than the mixing ratio 60% of cattle manure were significantly higher than in the other treatment plots(p<0.05). Total nitrogen and carbon contents in earthworm cast were decreased when rearing time of earthworm was increased. Carbon and nitrogen rate(C/N) of earthworm cast in plots more than the mixing ratio 80% of cattle manure was significantly higher than in the other treatment plots(p<0.05). pH in earthworm cast was higher than that in residual matter. The contents of electrolytic conductivity in the higher mixing ratio of food waste were significantly higher than those in the other treatment plots(p<0.05).

Squeeze casting process has been used in the field of a commercial manufacturing method, in which metal is enforcedly solidified under pressure enough to prevent the cast defects such as either gas porosity or shrinkage defect. In this paper, to clarify the relationship between applied pressures and macro ${\cdot}$ microstructural behaviors in gravity and direct squeeze casts, specimens were cast by various squeezing pressures during solidification of 7000 series Al wrought alloy in the metal die designed specially. The applied pressures used in this study were 0, 25, 50, and 75 MPa. The microstructural morphologies of squeeze cast were more fine and dense with increasing the applied pressures, because of the greater solidification rate of billet resulting from the applied pressure. A normal segregation phenomenon of an increasing in amount of eutectics towards the center of the billet was observed for squeeze casts, whereas gravity cast showed an inverse segregation phenomenon of an increasing in amount of eutectics towards the edge in the billet. This change in segregation pattern which is normal or inverse is due to a higher radial temperature gradient and reduced time in the semi solid state for squeeze casting.

Steel industry is the most capital intensive and the largest energy consuming industry, which operate huge and complex facilities to supply various steel products as the primary materials to almost every manufacturing industry Major steel products are hot-rolled and cold-rolled coils, plates, and wires that are produced through molten iron making, molten steel making, casting, and rolling. Each process runs in batch between setups and the specifications or bach are different with each other High energy consuming and heavy material handling require careful synchronization or processes, as well. Considering the synchronization or processes, the lot planning and scheduling problem in the integrated steelmaking process rovers the roll grouping with given casts. the sequencing or rolls over time, and the machine assignment and time scheduling or charges and casts. The problem is investigated by dividing it into two cases whether single or parallel machines at the molten steel making and the continuous casting processes. Problem descriptions and solution approaches or each instance are introduced. To test their performance and conformity, implementation or the algorithms and numerical experiments are carried out with real world and constructed data sets.
The bacterial communities in the intestinal tracts of earthworm were investigated by culture-dependent and -independent approaches. In total, 72 and 55 pure cultures were isolated from the intestinal tracts of earthworms under aerobic and anaerobic conditions, respectively. Aerobic bacteria were classified as Aeromonas (40%), Bacillus (37%), Photobacterium (10%), Pseudomonas (7%), and Shewanella (6%). Anaerobic bacteria were classified as Aeromonas (52%), Bacillus (27%), Shewanella (12%), Paenibacillus (5%), Clostridium (2%), and Cellulosimicrobium (2%). The dominant microorganisms were Aeromonas and Bacillus species under both aerobic and anaerobic conditions. In all, 39 DNA fragments were identified by polymerase chain reaction-denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis (PCR-DGGE) analysis. Aeromonas sp. was the dominant microorganism in feeds, intestinal tracts, and casts of earthworms. The DGGE band intensity of Aeromonas from feeds, intestinal tracts, and casts of earthworms was 12.8%, 14.7%, and 15.1%, respectively. The other strains identified were Bacillus, Clostridium, Enterobacter, Photobacterium, Pseudomonas, Shewanella, Streptomyces, uncultured Chloroflexi bacterium, and uncultured bacterium. These results suggest that PCR-DGGE analysis was more efficient than the culturedependent approach for the investigation of bacterial diversity and the identification of unculturable microorganisms.

Objective: The purpose of this study was to assess the long-term stability of rapid palatal expansion (RPE) followed by full fixed edgewise appliances. Methods: This study included 67 patients treated using Haas-type RPE and non-extraction edgewise appliance therapy at a single orthodontic practice. Serial dental casts were obtained at three different time points: pretreatment ($T_1$), after expansion and fixed appliance therapy ($T_2$), and at long-term recall ($T_3$). The mean duration of the $T_1-T_2$ and $T_2-T_3$ periods was $4.8{\pm}3.5years$ and $11.0{\pm}5.4years$, respectively. The dental casts were digitized, and the computed measurements were compared with untreated reference data. Results: The majority of treatment-related increases in the maxillary and mandibular arch measurements were statistically significant (p < 0.05) and greater than expected for the untreated controls. Although many measurements decreased postretention ($T_2-T_3$), the net gains persisted for all of the measurements evaluated. Conclusions: The use of RPE therapy followed by full fixed edgewise appliances is an effective method for increasing maxillary and mandibular arch width dimensions in growing patients.
