Analyzer to Identify Phrases and the Functional Roles in Sentences: Its Architectural Aspects

  • This paper presents the architectural aspects of the phrase analyzer that attempts to recognize phrases and identify the functional roles in the sentences in formal Japanese documents. Since the object of interest is a phrase, the current system, designed in an object-oriented architecture, contains the Phrase class, and makes use of the linguistic generalization about languages with Case markers that a phrase, whether a noun phrase, a verb phrase, a postposition (or preposition) phrase or a clause phrase, can be separated into the content and the function components. Without a dictionary, and drawing on the orthographic information on the words to parse, it also contains a class that identifies the types of characters, a class representing grammar, and a class playing the role of a controller. The system has a simple and intuitive structure, externally and internally, and therefore is easy to modify and extend.

  • 두개의 공분산 행렬의 동질성을 검정하는데 있어서, influence curve 방법을 이용하여 outlier를 찾는데 유용한 진단법을 제시한다. 이러한 진단법은 두개 이상의 공분산 행렬의 경우에 쉽게 일반화된다. 경험적 분포함수에 입각한 진단법의 sample version을 고려하며, 이것은 Wilks가 제안한 한개의 outlier를 찾는데 필요한 통계량과 두개의 모집단의 경우로 일반화된 Wilks 통계량을 포함한다.

Lakatos의 관점을 반영한 수학영재 대상 교수단원 개발연구 -데자르그 정리와 무한원점을 중심으로- (Design of Teaching Unit Based on Lakatos' Perspective)

  • 데자르그 정리와 무한원점이라는 사영기하학의 내용에 대하여, 반례의 수학사적 역할에 대한 Lakatos의 관점을 반영한 중등 영재학생용 교수단원을 개발하였다. 본 교수단원에서는 먼저 데자르그 정리의 반례를 인식하고, 이러한 반례를 제거하기 위해 무한원점을 도입하여 정리를 일반화한다. 그리고 다시 변환을 도입하여 반례가 사실 일반적인 경우와 대등한 것임을 재인식하도록 전개하였다. 이 교수단원에서 영재학생들은, 반례로 인하여 데자르그 정리라는 수학적 지식이 어떻게 변화하고 성장할 수 있는가를 경험할 수 있었다.

Lot간 변동이 존재하는 Short Run 공정 적용을 위한 일반화된 Q 관리도 (Generalized Q Control Charts for Short Run Processes in the Presence of Lot to Lot Variability)

  • We derive a generalized statistic form of Q control chart, which is especially suitable for short run productions and start-up processes, for the detection of process mean shifts. The generalization means that the derived control chart statistic concurrently uses within lot variability and between lot variability to explain the process variability. The latter variability source is noticeably prevalent in lot type production processes including semiconductor wafer fabrications. We first obtain the generalized Q control chart statistic when both the process mean and process variance are unknown, which represents the case of implementing statistical process control charting for short run productions and start-up processes. Also, we provide the corresponding generalized Q control chart statistics for the rest of three cases of previous Q control chart statistics : (1) both the process mean and process variance are known (2) only the process mean is unknown and (3) only the process variance is unknown.

  • In this paper, Fuzzy Self-organizing Neural Networks(FSONN) based on Fuzzy Neural Networks(FNN) is proposed to overcome some problems, such as the conflict between ovefitting and good generation, and low reliability. The proposed FSONN consists of FNN and SONN. Here, FNN is used as the premise part of FSONN and SONN is the consequnt part of FSONN. The FUN plays the preceding role of FSONN. For the fuzzy reasoning and learning method in FNN, Simplified fuzzy reasoning and backpropagation learning rule are utilized. The number of layers and the number of nodes in each layers of SONN that is based on the GMDH method are not predetermined, unlike in the case of the popular multi layer perceptron structure and can be generated. Also the partial descriptions of nodes can use various forms such as linear, modified quadratic, cubic, high-order polynomial and so on. In this paper, the optimal design procedure of the proposed FSONN is shown in each step and performance index related to approximation and generalization capabilities of model is evaluated and also discussed.

  • 본 논문에서는 이분적 암반분류 방법 보다 일반적인 다분적 암반분류 방법의 응용에 관해 연구하였다. 특히, 정성적 데이타를 체계적으로 이용할 수 있는 방법이 모색되었다. 응용 예를 통해 Bieniawski의 암반평가 시스템 (rock mass rating system, RMR)과 같이 암반을 두개 이상의 다등급으로 분류할 경우 본 논문에 제시된 방법이 효과적으로 사용될 수 있고 체계적인 암반조사를 위해 크게 기여할 것으로 생각된다. 또한, 오차에 대응하는 비용(cost of errors)의 기대값이 암반조사를 위한 시추 방법이 잘 계획되었는지에 관한 평가척도로 이용될 수 있음을 알았다.

Generalization of wind-induced interference effects for two buildings

  • Wind-induced interference effects on a building are the result of one or more adjacent buildings modifying the flow of wind around it, which may result in a significant increase or decrease in wind loads on the building. Wind loading standards and codes of practice offer little guidance to the designer for assessing the effects of interference. Experimental results on interference effects indicate that code recommendations may be significantly low (unsafe) or uneconomically conservative. The paper presents results of an extensive experimental program to study the wind flow mechanisms and to quantify the extent of wind load modifications on buildings due to interference effects. These results have been simplified and presented from the point-of-view of design and codification for the case of two buildings. Based on these results, general guidelines and limiting conditions defining wind interference are formulated and discussed.

일반화된 일반상한제약을 갖는 이차원 선형계획 배낭문제 연구 (On a Two Dimensional Linear Programming Knapsack Problem with the Generalized GUB Constraint)

  • We study on a generalization of the two dimensional linear programming knapsack problem with the extended GUB constraint, which was presented in paper Won(2001). We identify some new parametric properties of the generalized problem and derive a solution algorithm based on the identified parametric properties. The solution algorithm has a worst case time complexity of order O($n^2logn$), where n is the total number of variables. We illustrate a numerical example.

  • Let ${\pi}:E{\rightarrow}B$ be a Serre fibration with fibre F. We prove that if the inclusion map $i:F{\rightarrow}E$ has a left homotopy inverse r and ${\pi}:E{\rightarrow}B$ admits a cross section ${\rho}:B{\rightarrow}E$, then $G_n(E,F){\cong}{\pi}_n(B){\oplus}G_n(F)$. This is a generalization of the case of trivial fibration which has been proved by Lee and Woo in [8]. Using this result, we will prove that ${\pi}_n(X^A){\cong}{\pi}_n(X){\oplus}G_n(F)$ for the function space $X^A$ from a space A to a weak $H_*$-space X where the evaluation map ${\omega}:X^A{\rightarrow}X$ is regarded as a fibration.

Generalization of the Curie-Weiss Model to the D-dimensional Spin System

  • The critical behavior of the classical D-dimensional spin model (D${\ge}$2), which is intermediate model that link up the Ising (D = 1) and the spherical model (D = ${\infty}$), is studied for the case of constant coupling interaction independent of the spin-spin distance (Curie-Weiss model). Analytical results show that the critical behavior of the present model is in quantitative agreement with the prediction of the phenomenological mean-field theory independent of D. Critical temperature is calculated to be T$_c$=k/JD. This gives a quantitative explanation of the relationship between the spin degree of freedom and the critical temperature.
