When picking up cargo, workers manually load and unload the cargo. Workers have different intensity of work depending on the amount and weight of cargo. In particular, as the intensity of manual work increases, workers are exposed to cumulative traumatic diseases. A manual for picking safety work for workers cargo handling in the distribution center is required. In this study, the worker's picking safety work based on the cargo volume and weight was presented as an experimental design model. Like the research results, the disease begins when the worker feels the number of pains presented by the model.

Domestic car ferries do not operate a dedicated information system for cargo loading and management, It is impossible to arrange according to the cargo type and quantity at the time of cargo reservation due to restrictions such as the need to comply with the cargo layout drawings in advance approved by the Korean Register. For this reason, this is a study to utilize similar information systems in operation in container ships and terminals for the purpose of improving cargo shipment management tasks for car ferries.
This paper intends to describe the carrier's duty for the delivery of international air cargo and the carrier's liability for the illegal delivery of cargo under the Montreal Convention, lATA Conditions of Carriage for Cargo and judicial precedents. Under the Article 13 of Montreal Convention, the consignee is entitled, on arrival of the cargo at the place of destination, to require the carrier to deliver the cargo to it, on payment of the charge due and on complying with the conditions of carriage. And unless it is otherwise agreed, it is the duty of the carrier to give notice to the consignee as soon as the cargo arrives. Under the Article 18 of Montreal Convention, the carrier is liable for damage sustained in the event of the destruction or less of or damage to, cargo upon condition only that the event which caused the damage so sustained took place during the carriage by air. And the carriage by air comprises by the period during which the cargo is in the carriage of the carrier. Under the Article 11 of lATA Conditions of Carriage for Cargo, carrier is liable to shipper, consignee of any other person for damage sustained in the event of destruction of loss of, or damage to, or delay in the carriage of cargo only if the occurrence which caused to the damage so sustained took place during the carriage as defined under Article 1. According to the precedent of Korean Supreme Court sentenced on 22 July 2004, the freight forwarder as carrier was not liable for the illegal delivery of cargo to the notify party (actual importer) on the airway bill by the bonded warehouse operator because the freight forwarder did not designate the bonded warehouse and did not hold the position of employer to the bonded warehouse operator. In conclusion, the carrier or freight forwarder should pay always attention the movement and condition of the cargo not to be liable for the illegal delivery of cargo.

Yearly world vehicle production has continued to increase, and the global seaborne trade volumes also are recovering. Based on these positive trends, as demand for cargo ships increases in the freight transportation market, Pure car and truck carriers (PCTCs) with large gaps between decks continue to be ordered. The structural analysis of the cargo hold was performed in order to confirm its structural safety in accordance with the guidance for the direct strength assessment of the Korean Register (KR) of Shipping. And, according to the type of cargo, the maximum deflection and structurally weak area that occurred in deck 5 was confirmed. Also, it was found that the weight of the cargo had a significant effect on the deck, the primary members of the deck's structure, and pillars. The results of the structural analysis conducted in this study were added to the existing cargo load planning software. This was done so that the prediction of the maximum stress and the deflection of the deck based on the information about the cargo could be confirmed quickly. In addition, the data will be used as the basic data for rapid information management response to changes in cargo items.
Purpose - This paper proposes some ideas with a view to reducing any possible accidents caused by unlicensed drivers and an illegal use of other's name, particularly by teenagers in consideration of easy and simple instruction on smartphone with very weak and mere consciousness on auto life. Research design, data, and methodology - This study analyzes some accident cases between cargo trucks and rental cars in South Korea, and unlicensed vehicle with unlicensed drivers who use rental cars collided with cargo trucks which were loaded a lot of goods to be delivered to buyer designated. In order to fulfill this research, a case study accompanied with literature survey was conducted. Ideal suggestion for the right growth on rental car industry will be realized by legislation of the law. Results - This paper classified bodily injury of the victim, property damage and damaged cargo arising out of the unlicensed who is driving on car sharing service in South Korea. Conclusions - For the purpose of reducing cargo accidents caused by unlicensed drivers and an illegal use of other's name particularly by teenagers, this paper proposes some ideas of Amendment of the law, Paradigm shift of car sharing company, Preparation by association side and Technical Complementary Measures in South Korea.

Effective management of ULD (Unit Load Device) in Air Cargo Transportation is one of the Airline's main concerns. At present, the way of management of ULD which has the ID tag based on RFID is carried by cargo control staff with PDA. However, the activity of ULD management is limitted due to complexity of cargo terminal facilities. In this study, we offer the effective way of management of ULD by the DRONE equipped by LED-ID & RFID READER at the higher altitude in Air Cargo Terminal to recover the difficulty of identification due to complexity of terminal facilities. Further to the above, we suggest the operational effectiveness, limitation, and the direction of future research.

The aim of this study is to analysis factors that determine the competitiveness of container ports using the KJ and AHP methods. For this, 54 detailed attributing factors were identified both by previous studies and port users. 24 attributing factors were identified by a group of port experts. also, These were grouped 18 detailed attributing factors into 6 attributing factors by a group of port experts using the KJ method. These were made into a model of hierarchical structure with 3 levels, taking 1 goal factor, 6 evaluation factors and 18 detailed evaluation factors. The collected date of questionnaires were analyzed by a group of port experts using the AHP method. The analysis result of the evaluation factors in container port shows that port cargo volume is the most important factor, followed by port location, port cost, port service, port facility and port management. The analysis results of detailed evaluation factors in container port shows that import and export cargo volume is the most important factor, followed by transshipment cargo volume, distance from main trunk, cargo handling cost, distance from the point of importing and exporting, speediness of cargo handling, stability of cargo handling, vessel/cargo cost in port entry and leaving, punctuality in port entry and leaving, number and length of berth, collateral service cost, terminal area, hinterland accessibility, ability of terminal operation company, front depth of berth, etc.
The port, differently from general working place, is a closed area to execute security, customs, and quarantine procedures. The loading and unloading is being done differently by cargoes, ships, berths, and equipments. To load and unload a lot of equipments and different types of labor are required, in which work flow is very complicated. As above mentioned the port is very unique and deteriorated working place including danger. Now frequency of cargo handling accidents in port is highest for the second time among all industries. The purpose of this study is to propose ways to analyze and establish the preventive measure for cargo handling accidents in port. We have collected 45 accidents happened at Incheon Port during the period from 2007 to 2009. And the result of analysis, we proposed the new safety management system and safety education to reduce cargo handling accidents and to promote the quality of cargo handling in Incheon Port. Within the framework of effective safety management of cargo handling in port, this study will help to revise and establish system, education, and standard working manual with respect to the port loading and unloading system.
In view of the increased threat arising terrorism, the International Maritime Organization(IMO) adopted the International Ship and Port Facility Security Code (ISPS Code) which attached to the SOLAS Convention. The ISPS Code requires a comprehensive set of measures to enhance the security of ships and port facilities. For example, a shipowner must obtain the International Ship Security Certificate(ISSC). If the carrying vessel has not ISSC, the ship may be detained by the contracting governments. The Joint Cargo Committee(JCC) in London adopted the Cargo ISPS Endorsement, in which the assured who knowingly ships the cargoes on a non-ISPS Code compliant vessel will have no cover. However, where there is no the Cargo ISPS Endorsement in a Marine Cargo Insurance Policy and the cargo is carried by a non-ISPS Code certified vessel, the legal problem is whether or not it would constitute a breach of an implied warranty of seaworthiness and/or an implied warranty of legality. The purpose of this article is to analyze the potential legal issue on the relations between non-ISPS Code compliant vessel and two implied warranties under Marine Insurance Act(1906) in U.K.
As far as transportation problems are concerned, the minimization of transportation cost is the most prevailing object. But in some cases, the cargo delivery time is the utter problem rather than the cost. For instance, we may imagine the case that the delivery of the construction materials is delayed behind the schedule and this makes the construction cost increased because of idle time of other materials and man power, in addition to the indemnity. Therefore the allocation of ships, in marine transportation which is now the main route of overseas trade, to the needed area on the required time is to be appropriately performed. However, there are several restrictions for cargo delivery to meet the demand, such as ship's size, number to be employed and cargo handling capacity of the ports, etc. And there are some other factors to be considered, that is, the degree of necessities of commodities, on their kinds, amount, and the time of arrival, etc. This paper deals with the problem of optimum allocation of ships emphasizing the cargo delivery time adopting Linear Programming technique with those cargo delivery restrictions and factors transformed by introducing the multi-speed conception, the conversion of multi-commodity to a single commodity, allowable delivery time, weight penalty number and nominating priority. This paper presents a case of optimum allocation of ships in the light of cargo delivery time for a construction company which has two different construction places and analyzes the result. This study will give a planner a good tool for optimum planning of maring transportation and be used for decision of schemes.
