Data were analyzed using SPSS 22.0 with frequency and percentage, mean and standard deviation, and paired t-test. As a result of the study, high school students who participated in the health cluster curriculum improved their career choice commitment(t=-9.01, p<.001), career decision-making self-efficacy(t=-8.45, p<.001), and career maturity(t=-3.63, p=<.002) statistically significantly after participation. • Objectives : The purpose of this study was to examine the self-esteem and job-seeking efficacy of dental hygiene students in an attempt to provide some information on career guidance, counseling and the development of employment programs by colleges, as self-esteem seemed to be one of integral variables to affect job-seeking efficacy. Methods : The subjects in this study were the dental hygiene students in three different colleges in South and North Jeolla Provinces. After a self-administered survey was conducted, the answer sheets from 562 respondents were analyzed by the SPSS(Statistical Package for the Social Science) WIN 12.0. Results : 1. The students investigated got a mean of 2.43 in self-esteem, which was not a high score. The sophomores had a better self-esteem than the freshmen and juniors, and the gaps among the respondents in each subfactor of self-esteem were significant($p^*$ <0.01, $p^{**}$ <0.05). 2. The students got a mean of 3.12 in overall job-seeking efficacy, and there were significant differences among them in each subfactor of job-seeking efficacy($p^*$ <0.01). 3. The freshmen were ahead of the sophomores and juniors in job-seeking efficacy, and the gaps between the former and the latter were significant($p^*$ <0.01). 4. There was a significant relationship between the self-perceived self-esteem and job-seeking efficacy of the students. A higher self-esteem led to a better job-seeking efficacy(p<0.01). Conclusions : The above-mentioned findings illustrated that a higher self-esteem had a more positive effect on job-seeking efficacy. Therefore the development of programs geared toward boosting the self-esteem of dental hygiene students is required, and educational institutions should provide quality self-esteem programs for students to plan and prepare for their future, to make the right career choice, to improve their vocational adjustment, to keep pursuing self-development and to build the right values.

  • In order to analyze the influence of career self-efficacy on risk taking level in university students, career self-efficacy which becomes the basis of active occupational exploration was classified into four items including self evaluation, goal setting, occupational information and problem solving. Risk taking level was divided into three items of occupational selection, monetary management and human relation. 450 surveys were distributed to four-year university students in Seoul, capital area and rural area for three weeks from November 26 until December 17, 2011, among which 402 surveys were accepted as effective study subjects. Among items of career self-efficacy, most significant influence on self evaluation was shown in group with high risk taking level in monetary management, and problem solving had most significant influence in groups with high risk taking level in occupational selection and human relation. As a result, occupational information was found to have negative (-) influence on all items of risk taking level, with increasing degree of influence on occupational information for subjects showing lower degree of risk taking level. This study provides detailed analysis on individual's work task called risk taking level based on different occupational types, offering new verification of career self-efficacy as the most fundamental element of occupational exploration to university students looking for employment.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the mediating role of self-efficacy and community consciousness in the relationship between volunteer activity experience and career decision level of university students majoring in social welfare. For this purpose, this study set up a research model based on the social cognitive career theory based on Keumboltz's social learning theory and Bandura's social cognitive theory. 260 students majoring in social welfare at three four-year universities in Chungcheongbuk-do were assigned and surveyed from September to October 2019. The multiple regression analysis was conducted to verify the correlation analysis and the mediating effect using SPSS 26.0. The results of the analysis showed that the volunteer activity experience of college students majoring in social welfare had a significant effect on the career decision level, and self-efficacy and community consciousness had a partial mediating effect on these relationships. Based on the results of this analysis, the intervention and follow-up studies for improving career decision level of university students majoring in social welfare were discussed.

  • This research verified the mediated effect between the level of satisfactory from extracurricular activities and the influence of perfectionism on self efficacy of career decisions. In order to test the theory, a total of 271 students were surveyed from Seoul, Gyeonggi-do, and Chungcheongnam-do. SPSS 21.0 was utilized to study the frequency analysis and technical statistics and a correlation analysis was performed to understand the relationship between major factors. Also, to test the mediated effect we used a recurrent analysis to perform a career analysis. The first result showed adoptable perfectionism affecting the students self efficacy in deciding a career by collecting information on jobs, setting a goal, planning and solving problems. Second, perfectionism influenced the satisfactory level of extracurricular activities. Third, the satisfaction of extracurricular activities acted as a partially mediated effect between the relationship of perfectionism and students self efficacy in deciding their career by collecting information on jobs, setting a goal, planning and solving problems. Therefore, this study indicates to be used as founding material and theoretical implications in order to develop programs to improve self efficacy in career choices for students.

  • This paper analyzed the effect of attribution of career success on the occupational adaptation of college graduates, with the Korean Education Employment Panel (KEEP) data. The analysis results are as follows: First, there was a significant difference in self-efficacy and occupational adaptation according to attribution. Workplace satisfaction was the highest when attributing of effort for career success, and effort attribution also was the most influential in job satisfaction and self-efficacy. On the other hand, workplace satisfaction, job satisfaction, and self-efficacy level were the lowest in fortune attribution, indicating that fortune attribution has a negative effect on the on the occupational adaptation. Second, as in the mediating effect of the relationship between attribution of career success and occupational adaptation by Sobel-test, it was found that there was a mediating effect of self-efficacy. The results of this study shows that the more new employees perceive their career success to depend on their own efforts, the more they believe they can successfully accomplish their duties, and can adapt with more effort and patience in the face of stress. These results imply that it is possible to increase occupational adaptation by providing intrinsic and extrinsic rewards for new employees to have an effort attribution to career success.

  • This study aimed to empirically analyze the factors influencing the career search intention of college students. The research model was derived based on the Social Cognitive Career Theory (SCCT), considering the unique characteristics of university students. Self-efficacy and outcome expectations were investigated as independent variables, while mastery experience, verbal persuasion, vicarious learning, and positive emotions were considered as antecedent variables. A survey was conducted among college students in the metropolitan area, resulting in 217 valid responses for analysis. Empirical analysis was conducted using structural equation modeling with AMOS 24. The findings revealed that mastery experience, vicarious learning, and positive emotions had a significant positive effect on self-efficacy. Furthermore, verbal persuasion and positive emotions significantly influenced outcome expectations. However, the impact of verbal persuasion on self-efficacy was not found to be significant, and the relationship between mastery experience, vicarious learning, and outcome expectations was not examined. Both self-efficacy and outcome expectations were found to have a significant positive effect on career search intention, with outcome expectations exhibiting a stronger influence. The empirical results contribute to the understanding of college students' career exploration and provide implications for academic and practical contexts.
