Mediating Effect of the Basic Occupational Ability in the Relationship between Career Barriers and the Job-seeking Efficacy of a Dental Technology Student (치기공과 학생의 진로장벽과 구직효능감 관계에서 직업기초능력의 매개효과)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to clarify the mediating effect of the basic occupational ability in relation to the career barrier and job-seeking efficacy of dental technology students. It aims to provide the basic data for NCS-based education and career guidance. Methods: The subject of the questionnaire survey was dental technology students. The collected data were analyzed using the SPSS 21.0 program. For reliable verification, a significance level of ${\alpha}=.05$ was used and reliability analysis, frequency analysis, descriptive statistics analysis, correlation analysis and regression analysis were performed. Results: The results of the analysis showed that the basic occupational ability had a mediating effect in relation to career barriers and job-seeking efficacy. It was found that the basic occupational ability had a mediating effect in the relationship between job-seeking efficiently and other variables such as difficulty in an interpersonal relationship, lack of self-clarification, conflict with others in important positions, lack of job information, and lack of interest. Conclusion : The results of this study confirmed the importance of the basic occupational ability in improving job-seeking goals, job motivation, job search strength, job skills, and other related areas. If it appears difficult to overcome career barriers such as interpersonal difficulty, lack of self-clarification, conflict with other important people, lack of job information, and lack of interest, then the improvement of the basic occupational ability can be expected to enhance the job-seeking efficiency.

The Study on Internal Service Quality, Service Quality to Patients, Job Satisfaction, Organizational Identification and Job Identification of Physical Therapists (물리치료사의 내부서비스품질, 외부 서비스품질, 직무만족, 조직동일시 및 직업동일시에 관한 탐색적 연구)

  • Purpose : The purpose of this study is to understand the attitudes to internal service quality between coworkers, service quality to patients, job satisfaction, organizational identification and job identification of physical therapists in medical organizations. Methods : Data were collected from physical therapists working in medical organizations. 195 questionnaires were analyzed. Participants' total mean, group mean by age, sex, career and type of medical organization and the variables' correlations were examined. Results : The attitudes of physical therapists to five variables were very positive. Especially job identification was strong. The significant differences between groups were found in some variables. All variables except age and career were positively related to each other. The correlation between age and career was very high. Age and career were related to some of variables. Conclusion : To improve organizational performances it should be a top priority to understand the attitudes of physical therapists in organizations.

Influence of Professional Self-concept, Ego-resilience, and Job Stress on Job Performance of Nurses who are Reemployed after Career Interruption (경력단절 후 재취업한 간호사의 전문직 자아개념, 자아탄력성, 직무 스트레스가 업무수행능력에 미치는 영향)

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to investigate the influence of professional self-concept, ego-resilience, and job stress on job performance in reemployed nurses after career interruption. Methods: The participants were 207 nurses who worked at hospitals with more than 100 beds located in Seoul, Gyeonggi and Gangwon provinces. The nurses had experienced a career interruption of at least one year, and had less than five years of experience at the current workplace. The collected data were analyzed utilizing SPSS 24.0 program and using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficients, and multiple regression. Results: The participants' job performance, professional self-concepts, ego-resilience, and job stress showed significant positive correlations. It was found that the professional self-concept, ego-resilience, and job stress had an effect on the participant's job performance in order, and explained 51.3% of variance in job performance. Conclusion: To improve the job performance of career disconnected nurses, it is necessary to reinforce job stress control, professional self-concept, and level of ego-resilience.

The Relationship between Occupational Basic Competencies, Job Searching Efficacy, and Career Preparation Conduct and Attitude of Occupational Therapy Students (작업치료과 대학생의 직업기초능력, 구직효능감 및 진로준비행동의 관계)

  • Purpose : The purpose of this study was to understand the correlations between occupational basic competencies, job searching efficacy and career preparation behavior of department on occupational therapy students. Methods : The subjects of this study were 103 occupational therapy students in D college. The data collection period was from July 1, 2018 to July 30, 2018. The collected data was processed using SPSS 21.0 and were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Scheffe's test and Pearson's correlation coefficient. Results : The mean scores for occupational basic competencies, job searching efficacy and career preparation behavior of the occupational therapy students were 3.61 (${\pm}0.59$), 3.58 (${\pm}0.61$) and 3.31 (${\pm}0.66$) respectively. The occupational basic competencies score of the Occupational Therapy students was significantly differed according to their age (t=-2.13, p=.03) and grade point average (F=15.01, p=.00). The job searching efficacy of the Occupational Therapy students was significantly different by grade point average (F=3.40, p=.02). There were no significant differences in job preparation behaviors among occupational therapy students according to gender, age, grade and grade point average. There was a positive correlation between occupational basic competencies and job searching efficacy (r=.675, p<.01), between occupational basic competencies and career preparation behavior (r=.455, p<.01), between job searching efficacy and career preparation behavior (r=.702, p<.01). Conclusion : The results of this study suggest the following: It is necessary to repeat this study with a greater number and range of subjects. In addition, it suggests that the progress of study should be developed and continued and refined in order to identify factors that affect the career preparation behavior of students of occupational therapy. In addition, the development of a program and the application of a curriculum to promote occupational basic competencies and job searching efficacy should be a priority.

The Effects of College Life Adaptability on Career Preparation Behaviors of College Students: Mediating Effects of Major Satisfaction, Job Stress, and Self-Directed Learning

  • This study is a study to empirically verify the mediating effect on college life adaptation and career preparation behavior of college students. The purpose of this study is to empirically analyze the multi-mediated effects of major satisfaction, job stress, and self-directed learning. For this study, 216 university students were enrolled. For the collected data, SPSS Process macro was used. The result is as follows. First, there were multiple parallel mediating effects and multiple serial mediating effects on major satisfaction, job stress, and self-directed learning between college life adaptability and career preparation behavior. Second, the path of simple mediation and double mediation effect was found between college life adaptation and career preparation behavior. Based on the research, the necessity of revitalizing the program for revitalization of teaching activities and industry-academic cooperation activities in the major field and improvement of career preparation behavior and university life adaptation ability and follow-up research were suggested.

The Relationship between Job Stress and Career Resilience of Fire Fighting Officers: The Mediation Effect of the Job Efficacy (소방공무원의 직무스트레스와 경력탄력성의 관계: 직무효능감의 매개효과)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the mediation effect of the job efficacy on the relationship between job stress and career resilience of fire fighting officers. The participants of this study were 151 Jeju Island local fire fighting officers. The research tools used were job stress scale, career resilience scale and job efficacy scale. The data were analyzed using the SPSS statistical program. Pearson's correlation analysis, hierarchical multiple regression analysis and the Sobel test were conducted. The results of this study are as follows: First, there was a significant negative correlation between the job stress and the career resilience and between the job stress and the job efficacy, while there was a significant positive correlation between the job efficacy and the career resilience. Second, the job efficacy of fire fighting officers was found to have a perfect mediation effect on the job stress and the career resilience. As a result, it was found that job efficiency as a mediator to cope with job stress can improve the work efficiency by improving the career resilience of fire fighting officers. Finally, the discussion and implication are provided based on the results.

The Effect of Workforce Restructuring on Withdrawal Behavior: The Role of Job Insecurity, Career Plateau and Procedural Justice

  • This study examines the direct effect of workforce restructuring on the withdrawal behavior and mediating effect of perceived job insecurity. Empirically it also explores the moderating effect of career plateau and procedural justice on the above relationship. The study focuses on the mediating role of job insecurity and the moderating role of career plateau in relations to procedural justice, which will concentrate on the relationship between workforce restructuring and withdrawal behavior. For the empirical study, we collected and analyzed 442 survey data from employees of Korean companies. SPSS 24 is used for reliability, correlation and regression analysis. The results of the empirical analysis are as follows. First, perceived job insecurity mediated the relationship between workforce restructuring and withdrawal behavior. Second, content career plateau had a negative moderating effect on the relationship between workforce restructuring and job insecurity. Finally, the moderating effect of procedural justice was not supported. This research extend workforce restructuring and career plateau related studies; by exploring the mediating variable and moderating variable on the relationship between workforce restructuring and the pertaining outcomes. Based on the results, we provide theoretical and practical implications along with future research recommendations.

Effects of Nursing Work Environment on Intention to Stay of Hospital Nurses: A Two-Mediator Serial Mediation Effect of Career Motivation and Job-Esteem (간호근무환경이 병원간호사의 재직의도에 미치는 영향: 경력동기와 직업존중감의 이중매개효과)

  • Purpose: This study aimed to identify the mediating effects of career motivation and job-esteem and the effect of the nursing work environment on intention to stay among hospital nurses. Methods: Data were collected from 289 nurses working at an advanced general hospital. The research model design was based on the PROCESS macro proposed by Hayes and analyzed using SPSS 24.0 program. Results: The results showed a positive correlation between intention to stay and nursing work environment (r = .19, p = .001), career motivation (r = .34, p < .001), and job-esteem (r = .37, p < .001). Nursing work environment (B = 0.34 [.09~.59]) and job-esteem (B = 0.27 [.04~.49]) had a direct effect on intention to stay. There was a two-mediator sereal mediation effect of career motivation and job-esteem. The nursing work environment showed a significant effect on the intention to stay among hospital nurses through career motivation and job-esteem. Conclusion: In order to increase the retention rate of hospital nurses, it is suggested that government and medical institutions provide multifaceted support that can increase nurses' motivation for career development and recognition of the nursing profession through improvement of the nursing work environment.

Study on Relationship between Self-Directed Learning and Career Preparation behavior of College Students: Major Satisfaction, Positive psychological capital, Job-Seeking Stress mediation effect

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the mediating effects of major satisfaction, positive psychological capital, and job-Seeking Stress in the relationship between college students' self-directed learning and career preparation behavior. For this purpose, the study was conducted on 253 college students. The parallel mediation effect was analyzed using SPSS (24.0). Process Macro and Bootstrapping. The following results were confirmed. First, self-directed learning, major satisfaction, positive psychological capital, job-Seeking stress, and career preparation behavior were found to have a mutually significant influence relationship. Second, in the relationship between self-directed learning and career preparation behavior, major satisfaction, positive psychological capital, and job-seeking stress were confirmed to be variables that affect the parallel mediation effect and serial multiple mediation effect.Third, college students' self-directed learning was found to increase career preparation behavior through the mediating roles of major satisfaction, positive psychological capital, and employment stress. Therefore, in order to increase the career outcomes and success rates of college students, their own efforts, professors, and schools must create diverse environments and develop programs for college students' careers. Additionally, follow-up research must continue to supplement this.

The Determinants of Social Workers' Career Commitment and the Effects of Career Commitment on Job Attitude (사회복지사의 경력몰입 결정요인 및 직무태도에 미치는 효과)

  • This study is to investigate determinants of social workers' career commitment, compare the level of career commitment of social workeks by social work organization, and analyze the effects of career commitment on job attitudes. Social workers working for government agencies and community welfare centers and institutions in Busan city and Gyeongnam province were surveyed using structured questionnaires and 326 usable questionnaires were obtained. The questionnaires were analyzed for job, career, role, and organizational justice characteristics models and comprehensive model using SPSS/PC+.. The results are as follows; the level of social worker's career commitment was relatively high but the level of career commitment of social workers working for government agencies was slightly lower than that of social workers working for private agencies. According to the demographic characteristics, the level of career commitment of males was higher than that of famales. That of older workers was higher than that of younger worker, that of 2nd rank workers was higher than that of 1st rank workers. Task significance, task identity, feedback for the job done, career satisfaction, low role conflict, high distributive justice and interactive justice were related to higher level of career commitment while the skill variety was related to the lower level of career commitment. However, the main determinants differ according to the social work organization. Career commitment affected negatively on the career turnover intention while it affected positively on organizational commitment, organizational citizenship behavior, job involvement, and intrinsic job satisfaction. Therefore, different approaches and systematic measures are needed according to the organization.
