  • Background: 6-year College of Pharmacy curriculum had started in Korea, and the students in college of pharmacy are supposed to have student practice in the hospital pharmacy, community pharmacy, pharmaceutical company and administration to experience the role of pharmacists in advance. However, despite Korean Association of Pharmacy Education provided its own teaching plan, most Pharmacy Schools and the hospital pharmacy have difficulty in performing the desirable student practice program because they seldom experienced it. So, we reported the student practice program in the hospital pharmacy conducted by Yonsei University College of Pharmacy prior to the other numerous universities and the evaluation of survey on the student pharmacy practice program. Method: Severance Hospital, Gangnam Severance Hospital and National Health Insurance Service Ilsan Hospital took part in the student pharmacy practice program of Yonsei University. Students took 8-week pharmacy practice in Severance Hospital or Gangnam Severance Hospital plus 4-week pharmacy practice in National Health Insurance Service Ilsan Hospital. Also, students had once-a-week presentation class at school. A survey was conducted to evaluate the student practice program. Results: The presentation class was considerably helpful to share their own experiences at different practice sites in different hospitals, but there were some disadvantages that students could not experience the specific pharmacy practice site on the day of once-a-week presentation at school and so on. The results of the survey on the student practice program reported that students were satisfied with the overall practice program and presentation class at school. Also, they answered that the student practice program in the hospital pharmacy was significantly helpful for planning of the future career. Conclusion: Through the performance of the student practice program in Yonsei University, the adjustment of the student practice program in the hospital is planned to provide better experience of practice to the students and the results will be helpful for the student practice in the hospital of the other colleges of pharmacy.

  • Objectives We aimed to investigate the experience of Korean medicine use among elementary school students and their perception of Korean medicine and to determine whether the school doctor program improved the perception of Korean medicine. Methods This study was conducted as part of a school doctoral program in Korean medicine. A Korean medicine doctor was dispatched to the school to conduct a program that included career education in Korean medicine. Self-report surveys were conducted before and after the program. The pre-program questionnaire assessed the experience of using Korean medicine and the perception of Korean Medicine, whereas the post-program questionnaire measured the perception of Korean medicine and satisfaction with the program. Results A total of 82 students from an elementary school participated in this survey. Among them, 32 sudents (41.0%) reported having used Korean medicine in their lifetime, and 8 (10.4%) had used Korean medicine in the last three months. There was no statistically significant association between the experience of using Korean medicine and perception of Korean Medicine. However, perceptions significantly improved after the school doctorate program, and students who were more satisfied with the program evaluated Korean Medicine more positively.

  • In recent years, coding education has been globally emphasized and the Free Semester System will be executed to the public schools in Korea from 2016. With the introduction of the Free Semester System and the rising demand of Computational Thinking (CT) capacity, this research aims to design 'learning environment' in which learners can design and construct mathematical objects through computers and print them out through 3D printers. Furthermore, it will design learning mathematics by constructing the figurate number patterns from 'soma cubes' in the playing context and connecting those to algebraic and combinatorial patterns, which will allow students to experience mathematical connectivity. It is expected that the activities of designing figurate number patterns suggested in this research will not only strengthen CT capacity in relation to mathematical thinking but also serve as a meaningful program for the Free Semester System in terms of career experience as 3D printers can be widely used.

  • This study aimed to investigate major satisfaction and career maturity according to the values of college students majoring in food management and culinary arts. To do this, frequency analysis, factor analysis, correlation analysis, and multiple regression were conducted and analyzed using SPSS18.0 program. Analysis results indicate that the values of the college students majoring in dining and culinary education have effects on major satisfaction and career maturity. In particular, pragmatic value is a very important factor in increasing major satisfaction and career maturity, and social recognition and curriculum factors are very significant for students to make career decisions. Therefore, in order to enhance college students' major satisfaction and career maturity, it's necessary to teach sound values so that they can build self-esteem value. Also, it's essential to organize subject contents and curriculums in which theory and practice are allocated properly so that students can be interested in their majors and have new experience as well as the community's right recognition for college students majoring in dinning and culinary education and their active interest as the study suggests.

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of dental hygiene students' clinical practice stress, satisfaction and major satisfaction on career preparation behaviors. Methods:This study was conducted targeting the dental hygiene students who have clinical practice experience. The final 305 subjects were analyzed using SPSS 22.0 program. Results: The correlation between clinical practice stress and career satisfaction and career preparation behavior decreases with the higher degree of clinical practice and career preparation behavior. Analysis results about the affecting factors on the level of satisfaction with major satisfaction factors showed the highest factor of preparation behavior, followed by clinical practice and clinical practice stress in order. Analysis results about the affecting factors on the showed the highest factor of preparation behavior, followed by clinical practice and clinical practice stress in order. Conclusions: The results of this study showed that the higher the satisfaction of clinical practice and the higher the satisfaction of career, the more positive the career preparation behavior. Therefore, it's recommended to support continuous education programs to be coherent with dental hygiene student's career preparation behavior based on reinforcing individual competency by obtaining self-confidence and satisfaction from clinical practice.

  • Purpose: This study was to investigate the relationships among patient safety culture, safety competence and safety nursing activity among nurses in anesthetic and recovery rooms, and to identify the factors contributing to safety nursing activity. Methods: A descriptive correlational study was conducted. Participants were 156 nurses from 13 hospitals. Data were collected from February 11 to March 15th, 2019, and analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, Mann-Whitney U test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson's correlation and multiple regression analysis with SPSS statistics 24.0 Program. Results: Safety nursing activity was significantly different in relation to nurses' level of education, position at work, clinical career, clinical career at anesthetic and recovery rooms, and work experience in patient safety. Safety nursing activity demonstrated a significant positive correlation with patient safety culture and patient safety competence. Factors contributing to safety nursing activity were patient safety knowledge, skill and attitude, clinical career, clinical career at anesthetic and recovery rooms, and the patient safety improvement system which explained 57.0% of total variance of safety nursing activity. Conclusion: To improve safety nursing activities at anesthetic and recovery rooms, it is necessary to develop patient safety programs with enhanced knowledge, skill and attitude to take patient safety as a top priority.

  • This study aims to provide useful information for prevention of doping by investigating and verifying relationships among demographic factors such as athletic career and experience of anti-doping education, controlled motivation, attitude toward anti-doping, perceived behavioral control factors and doping intentions to verify factors affecting doping intentions of domestic elite athletes based on the advance studies that have been carried out various theoretical approaches so far. Method: This study analyzed using SPSS 27.0 program. First, this study confirmed a multicollinearity problem by conducting Pearson's correlation analysis to examine correlation between variables. And this study conducted stepwise multiple linear regression to confirm how the variables affect doping intentions. Result: Study results show that all factors such as athletic career, experience of anti-doping education, controlled motivation, attitude toward anti-doping and perceived behavioral control have a significant impact on doping intentions, and this study verified significant impact by putting variables in order of each influence. As a result of verification, this study confirmed that controlled motivation has the greatest influence, and perceived behavioral control toward doping, experience of anti-doping education, attitude toward and athletic career came next in order.
