본 논문은 차량에 사용되는 B필러의 강화재를 기존의 스틸 소재에서 CFRP(Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastics)와 GFRP(Glass Fiber Reinforced Plastics)로 대체하여 경량화하는 것이 목표다.
This paper focues on the flexural behavior of RC beams externally reinforced using Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastics plates. (CFRP) A non-linear finite element (FE) analysis is proposed in order to complete the experimental analysis of the flexural behaviour of the beams. This paper is a part of a complete program aiming to set up design formulate to predict the strength of CFRP strengthende beams, particularly when premature failure through plates-end shear or concrete cover delamination occurs. An elasto-plastic behaviour is assumed for reinforced concrete and interface elements are used to model the bond and slip.
To reduce structural weight, light metals, including aluminum and magnesium alloys, have been widely used in various industries such as aircraft, transportation and automobiles. Recently, composite materials such as Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastics (CFRP) and Graphite Epoxy Composite Material (GECM) have also been applied. However, aluminum and its alloys suffer corrosion from various factors, which include aggressive ions, pH, solution temperature and galvanic contact by potential difference. Moreover, carbon fiber in CFRP and GECM is a very efficient cathode, and very noble in the galvanic series. Galvanic contact between carbon fiber composites and metals in electrolytes such as rain or seawater, is highly undesirable. Notwithstanding the potentially dangerous effects of chloride and temperature, there is little research on galvanic corrosion according to chloride concentration and temperature. This work focused on the effects of chloride concentration and solution temperature on AA7075T6. The increased galvanic corrosion between CRFP and AA7075T6 was evaluated by electrochemical experiments, and these effects were elucidated.
The compressive axial collapse tests were performed to investigate energy absorption characteristics of Al/CFRP compound tubes which are aluminum tubes wrapped with CFRP (Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastics) outside the aluminum circular and square tubes. Based on collapse characteristics of aluminum tubes and CFRP tubes respectively, the axial collapse tests were performed for Al/CFRP compound tubes which have different fiber orientation angles. Test results showed that Al/CFRP compound tubes supplemented the unstable brittle failure of CFRP tubes due to ductile nature of inner aluminum tubes. In the light-weight aspect, specific energy absorption were the highest for Al/CFRP, CFRP in the middle, and aluminum the lowest. Also, specific energy absorption of circular tubes was higher than square tubes'. It turned out that fiber orientation angle of Al/CFRP compound tubes influence specific energy absorption together with the collapse modes of the tubes.
Damage process of CFRP laminates was characterized by Acoustic Emission (AE). The main objective of this study is to determine if the sources of AE in CERP laminates could be identified from the characteristics of the waveform signals recorded during monotonic tensile test. The time history and power spectrum of each individual wave signal recorded during test were examined and classified according to their special characteristics. The wave from and frequency of AE signal from a specimens is an aid to the determination of the extent of the different fracture mechanism such as matrix crack, debonding, fiber pull-out and fiber fracture as load is increased. Four distinct types of signals were observed regardless of specimen condition. The result showed that the AE method could be effectively used for analysis of fracture mechanism in CFRP laminates.
CFRP (Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastics) is composed of carbon fiber and plastic resin, and is approximately 20 - 50% lighter than metallic materials. CFRP has a low density, higher specific stiffness, specific strength, and high corrosion resistance. Because of these excellent properties, which meet various regulation conditions needed in the industrial fields, CFRP has been widely used in many industries including aviation and ship building. However, CFRP reveals water absorption in water immersion or high humidity environments, and water absorption occurs in an epoxy not carbon fiber, and can be facilitated by higher temperature. Since these properties can induce volume expansion inside CFRP and change the internal stress state and degrade the chemical bond between the fiber and the matrix, the mechanical properties including bond strength may be lowered. This study focused on the effects of NaCl concentration (0.01 - 1% NaCl) and solution temperature ($30-75^{\circ}C$) on the galvanic corrosion between CFRP and A516Gr.55 carbon steel. When NaCl concentration increases 10 times, corrosion rate of a specimen was not affected, but that of galvanic coupled carbon steel increased by 46.9% average. However, when solution temperature increases $10^{\circ}C$, average corrosion rate increased approximately 22%, regardless of single or galvanic coupled specimen.
