The Analysis on DSP-based hands-free car kit

  • For the past several years, many countries have passed or have recommended legislation making it illegal to use in-hand mobile phones while driving and several manufacturers have released car kit solutions enabling hands-free operation of the mobile phone. But an automobile environment can pose extremely harsh physical conditions impacting audio quality, safety, and reliability. This article introduced a Car Kits that provided a total entertainment and telematics solution, which support all current features within the constraints of low power consumption, form factor, price, ease-of-use, manufacture ability, testability and high total quality.

A Study on the Operation System Improvement of Busan International Passenger Terminal: Focusing on the Car Ferry

  • In the past 20 years, passenger and cargo transportation performance at the international passenger ports in Korea have increased by 8.6% on the compound annual growth rate, respectively. The Korean government had expected to continue expanding the market of car ferries and the government included plans for the development of additional routes and lanes with neighboring countries such as China, J apan, and Russia as a part of the Plan of the Korean Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries in 2019. However, compared to the development of routes, the management and operation of passenger terminals are inefficient. The purpose of this paper was to introduce the overall improvement of the passenger terminal operating system that reflects the recent changes in the supply and demand of international passenger vessels and the needs of the government and private sector passengers. To this end, a basic survey was conducted on the status of operations and facilities at the Busan International P assenger Terminal and a questionnaire survey was administered on the subject of use. The results of the survey were analyzed using the IPA model. As a result of the analysis, three items in the operation sector, three items in the facility sector, and four items in the system sector of the Busan International Passenger Terminal were identified as in need of improvement. Based on the results, the need for investment to improve the international passenger terminal operating system is suggested.

차량 주행 특성을 이용한 지도 매칭에 대한 연구 (Study on Map Matching Using Characteristics of Vehicular Movements)

  • PURPOSES : In link matching using vehicular trajectory in a car navigation system, it is technically difficult to match the location of the subject vehicle with a link on an electronic map in the vehicle on a grade separation highway segment consisting of an elevated highway and atgrade highway, because of the overlap of geometric lines of the two highways. This study was initiated to propose a link matching algorithm using the characteristics of vehicular movement of the subject vehicle. METHODS : The selected test site is the highway segment between Jeong-reung IC and Gil-eum IC where the Inner Circulation Road and Jeong-reung-ro run together. To evaluate the proposed algorithm, this study collected the raw packet data of vehicles that drove on the test site. In a simulation environment, link matching was performed using an existing algorithm as well as the proposed algorithm. RESULTS: It was clearly found that the characteristics of vehicular movements are different on the two highways. CONCLUSIONS: The proposed algorithm outperformed the existing algorithm.

LMTT용 셔틀 카의 프레임 강도 및 강성에 미치는 크로스 빔의 영향 (The Effect of Cross Beam on the strength and Stiffness of the Frame in Shuttle Car for LMTT)

  • 컨테이너 무역 규모가 매년 증가함에 따라 항만 환경이 급격히 변화하고 있다. 이러한 항만의 변화에 성공적으로 대처하기 위해 차세대 항만하역시스템인 LMTT(Linear Motor-based Transfer Technology)의 연구가 진행되고 있다. LMTT용 셔틀 카의 프레임부는 내부 빔, 내부 빔, 크로스 빔으로 구성되어 있으며, 본 연구에서는 프레임을 설계하기 위하여 크로스 빔의 개수, 하중 재하 위치 및 내부 빔의 위치에 따른 외부 빔과의 거리비 등이 프레임의 강도 및 강성에 미치는 영향을 유한요소 해석을 통하여 하중이 외부 빔과 내부 빔에 동시에 작용하고 크로스 빔이 5개일 때가 최적의 조건이라는 결론을 얻을 수 있었다.

  • LMTT는 항만 자동화를 위한 수평 이송이 가능하도록 설계된 셔틀카(shuttle car)하 격자구조의 레일에 부착된 스테이터 모듈(stator module)로 구성된 PMLSM(Permanent Magnetic Linear Synchronous Motor)에 의해 구동된다. 본 논문에서는 강도 및 강성기준을 고려하고 경량화 설계를 위하여 셀 요소로 유한요소 모델링된 이동체(mover)의 구조최적설계를 수행하였다. 설계변수로는 가로빔, 세로빔, 휠 빔의 두께와 가로빔 및 세로빔의 높이를 포함시켰다. 목적함수는 중량, 제한조건 함수는 안전율이 고려된 허용응력과 가로빔의 허용변위로 설정하였다.

선호 차종별 자동차 네비게이션 시스템의 감성평가 (Sensibility Evaluation for Car Navigation System based on Vehicle-type Preference)

  • 자동차의 급격한 증가로 인하여 교통 정체현상이 날로 심해짐에 따라 운전자에게 보다 안전하고 쾌적한 운전 편의성을 제공하기 위한 방법으로 차량항법장치(CNS)가 제안되었으며, 최근에 출시되는 많은 차량에 카 네비게이션 시스템이 장착되고 있다. 또한 네비게이션 시스템이 단순한 차량 항법 장치로서의 위치를 넘어 차량 내 멀티미디어 시스템으로서의 기능을 감당하고 있으며, 이에 따라 자동차 내장(Interior)의 중요한 부품으로 인식되고 있다. 따라서 기능뿐만 아니라 사용성과 외형적 디자인 역시 소비자의 취향에 맞게 설계되어질 필요성이 있다. 본 연구에서는 자동차 내장 부품의 구성 요소로서의 카 네비게이션 시스템에 대하여 소비자들이 요구하는 감성요소가 무엇인지 파악해 보았다. 특히, 소비자들이 선호하는 차종에 따라 내장 부품의 감성 특성 역시 변화될 수 있으므로 차량 선호도에 기초하여 감성요소 분석을 실시하였으며, 소비자 특성별 감성 선호도 도출 기법으로서 다차원 척도법(MDS)기법의 효용성을 입증해보았다. 정통적인 세단 형태의 차종을 선호하는 사람의 경우, 네비게이션 시스템에 대하여 고급감, 조화감, 재질감을 요구하였으며, 스포츠카를 선호하는 사람의 경우는, 팬시감, 개성감, 역동감을, SUV와 MPV를 선호하는 사람의 경우는 견고감과 역동감, 편의감을 중요시하는 것으로 분석되었다.

GPS 음영 지역 극복을 위한 INS/초음파 속도계 결합 항법 시스템 설계 (An Integrated Navigation System Combining INS and Ultrasonic-Speedometer to Overcome GPS-denied Area)

  • 최근 도심지, 터널, 지하도 등과 같이 위성항법시스템 (GPS; global positioning system) 신호 수신이 어려운 환경에서 안정적으로 정확한 위치 해를 획득하기 위한 다중센서 결합 기법들이 활발하게 연구되고 있다. GPS 음영 지역에서의 위치 정확도를 개선하기 위하여 본 논문에서는 초음파의 전파 특성을 활용하여 동체의 전방 속도를 추정할 수 있는 저가의 초음파 속도계(ultrasonic-speedometer)를 설계하였고, 이를 활용하여 관성항법시스템 (INS; inertial navigation system)과 효율적으로 결합하는 INS/초음파 속도계 결합 항법 시스템을 제안하였다. 제안된 시스템의 성능을 분석하기 위해 차량 탑재 실험을 수행하였다. 실험결과에 의하면 저가의 MEMS IMU (micro electro mechanical systems inertial measurement unit)를 활용하고 GPS 신호가 10초 이상 가용하지 않는 경우에도 제안된 INS/ 초음파 속도계 결합 항법 시스템은 위치 정보 정확도의 열화를 효과적으로 제한할 수 있음을 확인하였다.

스마트폰 증강현실 내비게이션의 인지능력과 호응도에 관한 연구 (Research on Cognitive Effects and Responsiveness of Smartphone-based Augmented Reality Navigation)

  • Most of the car navigation systems pzrovide 2D or 3D virtual map-based driving guidance. One of the important issues is how to reduce cognitive burden to the driver who should interpret the abstracted information to real world driving information. Recently, an augmented reality (AR)-based navigation is considered as a new way to reduce cognitive workload by superimposing guidance information into the real world scene captured by the camera. In particular, head-up display (HUD) is popular to implement AR navigation. However, HUD is too expensive to be set up in most cars so that the HUD-based AR navigation is currently unrealistic for navigational assistance. Meanwhile, smartphones with advanced computing capability and various sensors are popularized and also provide navigational assistance. This paper presents a research on cognitive effect and responsiveness of an AR navigation by a comparative study with a conventional virtual map-based navigation on the same smartphone. This paper experimented both quantitative and qualitative studies to compare cognitive workload and responsiveness, respectively. The number of eye gazing at the navigation system is used to measure the cognitive effect. In addition, questionnaires are used for qualitative analysis of the responsiveness.

자동차 환경에서 Oak DSP 코어 기반 음성 인식 시스템 실시간 구현 (A Real-Time Implementation of Speech Recognition System Using Oak DSP core in the Car Noise Environment)

  • This paper presents a real-time implementation of a speaker independent speech recognition system based on a discrete hidden markov model(DHMM). This system is developed for a car navigation system to design on-chip VLSI system of speech recognition which is used by fixed point Oak DSP core of DSP GROUP LTD. We analyze recognition procedure with C language to implement fixed point real-time algorithms. Based on the analyses, we improve the algorithms which are possible to operate in real-time, and can verify the recognition result at the same time as speech ends, by processing all recognition routines within a frame. A car noise is the colored noise concentrated heavily on the low frequency segment under 400 Hz. For the noise robust processing, the high pass filtering and the liftering on the distance measure of feature vectors are applied to the recognition system. Recognition experiments on the twelve isolated command words were performed. The recognition rates of the baseline recognizer were 98.68% in a stopping situation and 80.7% in a running situation. Using the noise processing methods, the recognition rates were enhanced to 89.04% in a running situation.

  • IVNS(In-Vehicle Navigation System) which developed by the advance of technological system including computer, display and communication will procide the important interface functions between the driver and the ITS (Intelligent Transport System). However, hat the human factors engineer can actually offer to the designer is by no means a complete set of design specifications. Therefore, a set of boundary conditions and operational ranges within which the designer can be assured that physical, perceptual and cognitive abilities and limitations of drivers will be accommodated system atically[6]. Also, this will be the considerations to compose the IVNS HMI (Human-Machine Interface) design guidelines and IVNS HMI evaluation system. As the first phase of developing the IVNS HMI evaluation system, this paper describe the architecture and the content of this system.
